Savory Farmers Market - The Flyer I received!!

I attended the Grand Opening today. The hours are from 3PM-7PM EVERY Wednesday henceforth until…read moreNovember. I was running just a few minutes late and arrived at 3:05 PM. It's a fairly large parking area at the Pavilion area of Travisso-Which is a huge home complex directly off FM 1431 in Leander-on the border of Cedar Park and Leander. Every single parking spot was taken so cars were parking on a side road leading out to Travisso Parkway. I wouldn't have known about this new savory farmers market except that I am a big fan of Andreas Eats Food Truck and she sent out a flyer about it as she was there with her taco truck! I planned to get pictures of the different vendors, however with the social distancing and the crowd it was impossible this time. I did take pictures of everything I purchased (except for the Brisket Taco which the hubster ate ASAP)! There were two fairly long strips of vendors one on each side of a walkway. It was easy to maintain social distancing when standing in line unless the line was quite long, and when people were going back-and-forth down the middle area to access the vendors. Some customers had masks on, a couple of the vendors did as well. Vendors included: homemade soap and body products, garden fresh veggies and fruits, Flat Creek wines, Alaska salmon, shaved ice, Andreas Eats, Fresh Eggs, Poultry, Pork and Beef and more! I will be posting pictures of the produce that I purchased this time around. Next time I will try to go extra early or at closing time to get some shots of the vendor areas. This is a great addition to the other farmers markets in Central Texas! Personally, I love that it's on a weekday!!! This is my new go to Farmers Market! 2437 Travisso Pkwy, Leander, TX 78641

Friendly vendors, quality vendors... love their wild caught Alaskan Seafood and their Ranchers offering Grass -finished selections. Love the fresh hummus people, mushrooms and fresh cold pressed juice. Close by and in local communities is what makes me attend. Love that it is local vendors and producers too.

What a cool 'hidden find' in the Leander area!…read more It's a bit of a misnomer to call this a 'flea market', but that's a minor point to quibble over. Rather, this is a collection of rather eclectic shops selling mostly used or refurbished items. These range from vintage glass and antique furniture all the way to collectible baseball cards. Everyone I spoke to at one of the stores was friendly and sometimes willing to negotiate a price on an item. I look askance at some of the reviews which claim 'I didn't get a deal'. You have access to the internet, after all. Even on your smart phone. You should be able to find out if the vintage item you're looking for hasn't been cheaply reproduced at Hobby Lobby, Cost Plus or Michael's. The facility still seems to be in development, so a couple notes for folks who may visit close to when I did, in September 2017. 1) The parking lot is a very rough gravel one. Drive slowly and walk carefully, there are ankle-turning rocks here if you wear heels. 2) One of the vendors was having serious issues taking credit cards, so having cash on hand might be a good idea. 3) If you check in on Yelp, there's a free drink offer available at the food trailer. However, there's no food trailer yet - just a well-run inside snack bar. They were kind enough to honor the offer for me, but do them a favor and wait until they get a vendor in before trying to use the coupon. In sum, a definite place to visit if the antique hunting bug strikes!

Makes a nice trip especially if you're looking for the refurbished stuff! I'm a vintage toy collector myself so most of the pictures I took reflect that.
