I was glad to see a new casual sit-down restaurant come to the area; I like Leo's, but I'm tiring of it. I finally went to Red Olive today. The restaurant is a brand-new construction, in the space where an Italian restaurant had stood. The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. Both the host and the server were just constantly smiling, and it felt genuine. The vibe they gave off was that they were truly happy to be there I knew what I was in the mood for, so I was happy to see it on the menu: a gyro sandwich and Greek salad combination. I thought it would be a small salad, like Olga's does, but no, it was full-size. And the gyro was stuffed with meat. After finishing the salad, I could only eat about half of the sandwich, so I took the rest home. The server (I didn't get her name) asked if I wanted a refill on my iced tea -- and then, she asked if I wanted it to go, which was perfect. And she saw the coupon I had with me & she automatically took off the 15% from my bill. I don't think many people know this restaurant is here or open, though; I was there around 2:00 on a Thursday, and there were only other tables occupied, and they were finishing up, leaving me alone for a little while. A small group did come in as I was leaving, and I did see a couple people pick up carry-out orders. I will definitely be coming back here; I am in this area a lot. I look forward to trying some of their other selections.

What a welcome addition to my local area. We could use more reasonably priced restaurants with good service for a casual lunch or dinner -- that are a step above a Coney Island. The restaurant is new, built from the ground up. The inside was clean and neat though it does lack charm. The menu was fairly vast - from salads to soups to sandwiches and entrees. My husband had a chicken dish that came with a vegetable and rice and a big bowl of soup. I ordered the small Greek salad with gyro. It was huge! It had a good variety of add in (beets, olives, feta, chick peas, peppers, cucumbers and tomatoes. Everything tasted fairly fresh and the dressing was good as well. My husband picked on it once I was full and we still have leftovers. Prices were fair. And I rarely say that these days. Our server, Joseph, was very attentive and constantly checking to see if we needed anything. He was extremely polite as well. Definitely expect to make this a place in my rotation as it is close by and a solid meal.

Food is amazing. Like this Red Olive better than the one in Novi. The cook is excellent!

Attentive service complements the good food. Both of us ordered salads that were plentiful.

Rod the Owner was wonderful he showed us great service starting with an amazing Iraki tea!! Some cucumber yogurt we ate on some flat bread which Colleen and I devoured it was the best!! Then he brought me my chicken shawarma and some Bulgur! It was in place of rice and so much better for you and I love rice. But I have a new favorite! He brought me a side dish of beans in some sauce I can't remember the name! I was in heaven those who know me know I am a creature of habit when it comes to food I usually stick with the same stuff when I find something I love. Their menu is huge and so many other things on it I want to try! I am sure I will be back in within the week. Rod was such a good human we loved talking to him. He has worked hard to make this place great. Very nice atmosphere. Everyone in that came into the restaurant raved of the food and service. So do yourself and him a favor and stop in! You will not be sorry! If you have any questions just ask him and if you happen to find anything you find is not your favorite let him know. I had a potato thing he brought in a sauce and I love potatoes but it wasn't my favorite! But the beans I snubbed my nose up to at first turned out to be something I would order again. The potato's were not bad I love potato's but he told me to just try the beans and to my surprise were really good, I would order again!! Great experience and being so sleepy after chemo it turned out putting me in a very happy state of mind!? Stop in soon and talk to Rod! They do catering as well. I hope to go back and try one of everything on his menu. Who knew I would love it so much!! Of course can't do it all in a day so you can bet that I will be coming back often of as often as my body lets me with chemo every three weeks!! This made our day!! Go eat you wont be sorry!!

I always appreciate a good fast-casual style restaurant that offers an easy menu with good and healthy options, so I was looking forward to trying out The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill in West Bloomfield! Upon first glance, the restaurant looks very chill, well kept up, and has tons of seating options. The staff was also very kind and continually offered to help with anything during our visit. However... I have two main qualms. One is that the price per item adds up very quickly here. You essentially have to factor in that you can probably get 1.5 meals out of a portion, because otherwise, you're paying close to $20 for a single meal of fast-casual food. Keep in mind that most other locations of this caliber in this area would easily have 2 meals worth of food in one entree at a lower price. The food itself was pretty ok - I'd say it met our expectations of what a standard mediterranean restaurant should be. That said... they definitely disappointed us with the wait time. We went in on a slow Sunday afternoon, and though there was only 1 other family in the restaurant, we ended up waiting nearly 30 minutes for our food. Ultimately... I'd probably recommend you try somewhere else -- The Great Greek Mediterranean is definitely casual, but nowhere near fast.

My husband and I got takeout, but it looked like there was a nice seating area as well. The only con for me for this franchise is the price - it's a bit pricey, but the sandwiches are huge, so you could make two meals out of it if you weren't super hungry. The sandwiches are about $13 each, and if you get a protein like lamb there's an upcharge. I believe the bowls are about $15 each. Make sure to ask for some samoon chips with your order, too! These are like bagel chips with za'atar spice and I've never seen them anywhere else. It was about $29 for two sandwiches for us - like I said, pretty pricey but portions are gigantic.

I arrived early to sample their Happy Hour where I got a Tommy Margarita which was one of four cocktail choices on the Happy Hour menu where the other choices are an Old Fashion, Lemon Drop Martini and a Black Manhattan. All of which I personally am a fan of. Relative to my Margarita, it was very well made with 2 full ounces of Blanco Tequila as the base and quite tasty. Definately a drink with a kick and not a watered down version you get at most other bars in the area. At $8 it's a pretty good deal in my opinion especially for a drink of this quality. Relative to Dinner my wife got the White Fish dinner and I got the Milanese Chicken. Both dishes were excellent where they were cooked to perfection and were delicious. Prices on the menu were a tad high in my opinion but the old adage that you get what you pay for applies here and is definately worth the cost in my opinion. Appetizer was the Calamari which was well made and quite tasty in its own right. Relative to staff and facility, the facility is very classy with a nice contemporary flair to it, Definately an upscale feel to it where both the bar and the dining area offer an elevated dining/drinking experience. Staff was super friendly with great follow up where the bar can be a tad slower as only one bartender was working while I was there but he did a fairly good job of keeping up with the orders and high marks for his efficiency. Overall a great classy restaurant with a nice Happy Hour makes this a destination restaurant worth the trip if you live outside this area.
