I've passed by this place dozens, if not hundreds, of times and always shrugged it off. On a whim we decided to finally try Red Oak for breakfast and were pleasantly surprised! The inside is dated, like it was updated in the late 80s/early 90s and never again... but don't let that deter you, because everything was very very clean. Our waitress was nice and very attentive. The buffet itself wasn't huge, but had quite a bit to offer including: different types of scrambled eggs, French toast, pancakes, Belgian waffles, two different types of sausage, scrapple, bacon, and more. Prices are fantastic at only $12.99 for ages 13+ and then tiered pricing for kids 12 and under. I definitely feel we got our moneys worth and will be back to try the dinner buffet. One thing to note: the women's bathroom in particular is VERY small/tight. There are 4 regular stalls, no handicapped, and the sinks are maybe 3' from the stalls. I doubt anyone in a wheelchair or with mobility issues could even access it, let alone easily use it. Just something to keep in mind.

I've been to this buffet a few times and I think it's a great place to eat. They serve breakfast and dinner buffet style and I think both are amazing value. The breakfast has most of the staples you would expect like scrambled eggs, scrambled omelettes, waffles, pancakes, french toast, and home fries. They also have a few good surprises like cream chipped beef, fruit toppings, and scrapple. There are a few breakfast items they could add. Oddly missing are bagels and toast (unless I missed them somehow?). Maybe some tater tots and fresh fruit could make good additions as well. I've only been to their dinner once. When I visited, there was chicken cordon bleu, crab cakes, ravioli, pasta, mac n cheese, fries, fried shrimp, steamed fish, and probably a few more items I'm forgetting about. For dessert, there was some vanilla/chocolate pudding, rice pudding, bread pudding, and probably an item or two I forgot about. I'm not sure if the menu changes but I stuffed myself with everything listed above and loved it. The selection they have is a little small but what makes it in is pretty good. Everytime I've visited the place, it was packed which is vital for buffets. It means the food is being changed regularly enough to be fresh. For people who are icky about germs, they require everyone to wear plastic gloves when going to get food. They've required this since the COVID pandemic in 2020. I don't have any feelings towards this practice but just thought I'd bring it up for those that do care. Overall, I think the food and the value is very good. It's about $13 per person for breakfast and about $23 per person for dinner (drinks are extra). You will easily get your money's worth, especially for breakfast. I frequent this place a handful of times every summer and so far I haven't had a single bad experience. Definitely recommend giving it a shot.

July 22nd 2023 - We hit the Famous Red Oak Buffet for Breakfast. It's a family run restaurant that's been here for like 50-60 Years. The food was hot and fresh and because it was a Saturday morning in July the place was slammed. As busy as the Red Oak was our waitress gave us outstanding service. The building's exterior, interior and restrooms are dated yet clean and well maintained. You can expect Typical breakfast food Like others have written. Bacon, pancakes, sausages, French toast, pancakes, scrapple, ham, cereals both hot and cold and eggs. I'm pretty sure they use the powdered egg type. The taste was a 6.5 out of 10 and the freshness was an 8. There is no toast on display but we asked the waitress and out came a fresh toasted batch. Drinks are extra but you cannot beat price for all you can eat buffet. My only gripe is that there was no fresh fruit. Fresh fruit is a pretty easy ask. Overall a good option with easy parking. BREAKFAST BUFFET $10.99 CHILDREN'S PRICES AGES: 1-3 EAT FREE AGES: 4-6 $4.99 AGES: 7-10 $6.99 Served 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

We finally tried the Borgata Buffet and honestly I do not understand some of the bad reviews…read more Yes it is a casino buffet so the price is higher at around 43 per person, but there are definitely ways to get it comped or discounted, and for the quality you are getting it actually feels worth it. The variety is great and everything we tried tasted fresh and well made. Nothing felt like it had been sitting too long and the staff was constantly maintaining the stations. The service really stood out. Our waitress was incredibly friendly and very attentive without being overbearing. The staff working the buffet line were also all really nice and genuinely seemed happy to be there which makes such a difference. Food wise there were a lot of standouts. The chargrilled steak had a really nice flavor and the prime rib was super tender and juicy. The pastas were cooked perfectly and the sauces were light, bright, and flavorful instead of heavy. The mac and cheese is an absolute must. They use big shell noodles with a creamy cheese sauce and toasted breadcrumbs on top which gives it great texture. The collard greens were surprisingly one of our favorite things and we went back for seconds. So much flavor. The spiced shrimp is a hidden gem and definitely something we grabbed multiple times. The pizza was also surprisingly good. We tried the mushroom and spinach and it honestly tasted like something you would get from a really solid pizza spot not a buffet. The only thing I would say is the chicken parm is hit or miss depending on how fresh it is. If it has been sitting it can get a little soggy so I would try to grab it when a fresh tray comes out. Pro tip leave room for dessert. The dessert section is incredible. The gelato was rich and creamy especially the chocolate. The croissant cinnamon roll hybrid was flaky on the outside with a soft gooey center and the cookies and cream cheesecake was rich without being too heavy. I also really liked how the seating is set up. You can sit on either side of the buffet and choose between booths or tables which makes it feel a little less chaotic. This is definitely a spot we will keep coming back to when we are at Borgata.

A pretty solid buffet considering there aren't many buffet options in the area!…read more Sushi - dry and tasted fake Seafood - all of their fishes were the highlight of the offerings! The carving station had a salmon larger than I've ever seen too. Also appreciate that they offer a spiced version of the cocktail shrimp. Meats - prime rib was very dry and overcooked but the grilled steak has really great taste Everything else is pretty standard for a buffet. Huge compliments on all of the sauces they offer to go along with your food (steak sauce, au jus, melted butter, etc.).

The views are pretty spectacular and we like watching all the boats come in to dock. Crowd levels can vary during peak season and sunny weather so plan ahead. The restaurant has plenty of seating and parking but it still gets busy in their large gravel lot. Especially when they have live music playing -- which is fun! It's an open aired environment with picnic tables so it's best when the weather cooperates. They do have the option to tent the restaurant in to close it off. Service has been okay over the years as they are more of a seasonal restaurant (I'm guessing). On our recent visit we opted for crab cakes which were good. Our son got the all you can eat blue crab. Most dishes range from $15-25 with the all you can eat based on market at around $40-60. After a few drinks the bill can easily crest $150 here for our party of 3. It's worth a visit more for the atmosphere than anything else!

Never had anything like this before. It's served with ritz crackers and small slices of jalapeño. It was absolutely delicious. Is this something that's at other places? Really never saw it before. For my main course I got the lemon herb salmon salad. Really didn't need the starter. This was plenty filling. Very good. Salmon had some bone in it so be careful. I was surprised by two pieces and one I accidentally swallowed. The avocado in the salad was not ripe at all. I had to pull it out. Couldn't stab my fork into it. Staff is awesome. Super friendly. Price is ok. It's seafood so... Overall I like the place.

It's a good buffet. The sushi section is mostly vegetables and some with cream cheese, but there's plenty of wasabi and regular and low-salt soy sauce available. Decent sushi, really. In general, the entrees are what you would expect from Chinese buffet, although I will say the fried shrimp and fried chicken were quite good. They had a big pile of blue crabs - they didn't have any Old Bay or other seasoning and the crab itself didn't have much flavor. Sadly, it's the crab that should set this buffet (located in a beach community) apart from Chinese buffet elsewhere. But honestly the crabs just weren't very tasty. For dessert, there are a variety of cookies, cakes and small containers of ice cream that were frozen like blocks. I'm sounding negative, but it's Chinese buffet and it's decent. It's also $15.95 which is a good price for a decent Chinese buffet. I doubt I'll come back because I have decent Chinese buffet available to me in other places. The service was ok. I'd give them a 3.5 if I could, but I can't justify a 4. So, it's a 3.
