While there's a lot of pickleball courts, I've seen them full with a queue to play. I haven't seen this with the tennis courts or other sport courts. There's a playground with a play structure, swings, slides, a zip-line and more. It's on a hill so there's multiple levels to play on. There's a large splash pad for older children and a separate area for younger children, so less likely your toddler gets run over by a pre-teen not paying attention. The one drawback is there's not a lot of shady places to hide from the blistering summer sun. There's a large grass field but it's sloped and thus not useful for playing flag football or soccer. I believe it's built that way to watch performances at the pavilion. If there are flat grass fields at this park, I have yet to find them; they would be a welcome addition. At the end of the park there's a lake with a walking path around it. The largest ramada is on the lakefront and looks to 100-150 people. They have smaller ramadas around to rent as well. Overall, Gilbert Regional Park is a nice clean new park with many amenities. Everything is still in good working condition and there's a lot of open space where everyone isn't concentrated into a small area.

These soccer fields are located on the South side of Brown Rd in Mesa West of the loop 202…read more These fields are new so it is very difficult to find a map of the fields so I made one (see photo). It shows the orientation of the fields, the parking and entrances, and where the bathrooms (stars) are. There are entrances on the N, E, S, and W, as well as between fields 12 and 15 to get to the bathrooms. You should look at the map to see where to park. The grass fields are in good shape and the bathrooms are pretty new and clean. Just check my map so you know where to go. It also shows where they are compared to the original fields 1-6 which are SW of these fields.

It also boasts a fountain in the middle of the lake that shoots over 300 feet into the air and hosts the pro disc golf tour. The course is free to play and is challenging for every level of player. Besides the water hazard of the lake and the well placed trees. The golf disc chains are located near residential housing, street car traffic and other park goers besides yourself (people walking their dogs, joggers, bicyclists). So you need to be careful on some disc throws not to hurt anything or anybody. Definitely know your game especially your limitations. Being a beginner in the sport. I found the course to be very fun. The large park is very beautiful and well maintained. One of the nicest parks I have ever been to. The locals are very friendly. We had a few people watch my friends and I play with some amusement and weren't afraid to say "hi". Definitely didn't run into any haters of disc golf. To sum it up. As not to get towed in the parking lot, I moved to street parking on the other side. Use your UDisc app whenever you can to follow the course. Especially if you're new to the layout. Luckily I met a couple guys that let me join so I could follow the layout easily. I picked up with them at hole 7, playing to 18 and back around to 6. Layout is somewhere pretty easy to follow. Nothing too difficult other than ensuring you don't end up in a few of the water hazards around. I lost (2) discs and watched at least 6 others lose theirs too. I do like the option to throw to the short distance or long distance baskets. The tee boxes do need some work here and there. I do appreciate they show where the locations of the baskets are and their distance. Had a great round, minus the two lost discs to the water monsters. Would throw here again!

It is fun watching people play disc golf at Vista Del Camino. It is a scenic 18 disc course…read moresurrounded by walkways, mature trees, a few picnic tables and housing. The Paseo Vista disc golf in Chandler, (McQueen and Ocotillo Rds) offers more space at each hole and at various elevations but is not as picturestic as Vista. The creek that runs through the center of Vista is pleasing to see and can be a fun challenge for players. Pedestrians, cyclists and runners are also player obstacles! Enjoy!

Adj: Fancy and Fun at Fountain Park…read more So while on a trip to AZ, we came to this park kind of on a whim because we were staying in Fountain Hills. It was close to the hotel we stayed at and I read some great things about this park and my kids loved playgrounds, so off we go. It's been redone so it did not always look so fancy schmancy, but let me tell you this town and neighborhood is quite well to do so I think the funding is not lacking. The park is right next to the man-made lake which is made famous because of the fountain that goes off multiple times every day! But back to the park, the playground really is fun. There's things to climb, slide down, run onto, jump up and down on, and even a zip-line like thing that was kind of scary for me (yes, I'm a scaredy cat). My kids had a great time on that thing and my son in particular went crazy on it going back and forth multiple times. Overall, this is a great park, the playground alone is worth a visit, but then there's covered seating area not far from the playground, and right next to that there's a musical section where you can hit on different metallic objects to make music! My kids really had fun w/those things. There are benches for parents to chill after exertions on the play structure. The view of the lake is nice from anywhere at the park too. Lovely and enjoyable. We would love to visit again.

Newer course laid out in a dry river bed. It's actual…read morelocation is in Skunk Creek Linnear Park at 59th and Union Hills. The river bed is full of mature trees, mostly Palo Verdes, that provide ample shade. A cool breeze blows through every once in a while, too. The paths are marked fairly well, and the whole course is an easy walk, but sturdy shoes are recommended because of the rocky river bed. There are 4 species of rattlesnakes that live along the river, so just keep an eye and ear out. There are bathrooms and a concession stand at the park, if needed.
