Dr. Hamberlin was such a great doctor. He explained everything step by step. Making me feel very comfortable and relaxed the whole way. I definitely recommend this practice to all. From the front staff to the assistants. All GREAT!! read more

My family and I are very grateful to have Dr. James Hamberlin as an endodontist. The office is always clean, the staff is very pleasant and helpful. I was able to get in quickly for a root canal. Dr Hamberlin explains what the problem is and how he will treat it and what the results should be. He is very articulate and a good listener. Which puts one at ease. Very nice, relaxed atmosphere, what you need when you are looking at dental treatment. Thank you Dr. Hamberlin and staff :) PS My root canal went very well! read more

My dentist Dr. Brandon Goats referred me to this place.. and it exceeded my expectations!!! :) they were so nice and helpful and Dr. Steven Richardson was just amazing!! He took his time to explain the root canal procedure from A to Z and answered all my questions!! I always thought root canals "sounded terrible" since I didn't have one done yet, but they are not that bad at all!! I would not be afraid to get another one if I needed to ;) read more

Everyone scared me about having a root canal. And to my surprise and delight, it was painless, fast and completely successful! I recommend Dr. Wood to everyone! A truly wonderful experience! read more

Dr Hamberlin is so awesome! He makes sure you are comfortable and he's very gentle. The staff are all very nice. Obviously I'm going here for a not so fun procedure but he made it as gentle as possible. I'm glad I was recommended to him and I'd definitely recommend him. The place is very clean and very nice inside. I'm not hoping to be an ongoing patient but if I had to I would be glad to go here. read more

I went to Red Mountain about 15 years ago. Great Doctors, painless Root Canal Treatment. Fast and easy.

Dr Woods did an excellent job with my 8 year old son, who needed a root canal. He even put his favorite music during his treatment that calmed him down. read more

I called my wonderful dentist (Dr Sullivan) this morning to get an emergency appointment, as I suffered much discomfort throughout the night. I was impressed that Dr Sullivan came to the office especially just to see me (during this pandemic 19). However, after exam and x-rays, he decided that I needed a specialist to do a root canal. He highly recommended Dr. Steven Frost, who was available to do the procedure as soon as I arrived at his office. However, I was quite nervous about having the procedure done by an Endodontist that I was not familiar with, especially after past disastrous experiences. But, my fears soon dissipated---Dr. Frost assured me that he would be very gentle yet precise in his performing the procedure---and I have to admit that in all my years, I have NEVER had such extraordinary care from a dentist. I actually experienced a root canal without any discomfort whatsoever---even his gentleness in numbing my mouth was painless. Plus his demeanor was genuinely compassionate. It also helps that the equipment used in his new office is definitely "the latest technology"! Even after the numbness wore off, I assumed I would have some soreness or pain---but not one bit. So, to sum up my experience, if possible, I would give this dentist 10 stars instead of 5----and I will tell everyone I know who might need a root canal in the future, they MUST call Dr. Frost at Red Mountain Endodontics. He is the BEST. read more

Wow! The staff and the Dr. both had great energy. Love the people working here! You can tell they enjoy what they do. I don't think anyone enjoys getting work done on your teeth but when you have to get work done this is the place to go! read more

The clinical staff is good but the business practices are disappointing. Watch out for quotes with this office. They lie. I was quoted $250 out of pocket. At the end of the appointment I was charged $295. Ok I thought. Then I was sent a bill for over $300 more. Keep clear of them. read more

I needed a root canal and they scheduled me in same day due to the amount of pain I was in. The entire staff was amazing, helpful and empathetic to my situation. I would highly recommend! read more

Earlier this month, I was confronted with one of my greatest fears ever - the dreaded root canal! Dr Hamberlin of Red Mountain Endodontics came highly recommended by both my former and current dentist and as it turns out, the only one that they trust. I was able to be seen quickly and had the procedure that same day of the initial exam at the dentist's office. Dr. Hamberlin and staff were extremely courteous and quite empathetic to my fears of dentistry in general. Dr. Hamberlin thoroughly explained the procedure and the necessary steps following it (temporary filling, the bleaching, and permanent filling). He made sure that I was as comfortable as could be and the procedure which wasn't nearly as horrific as I imagined it to be took about an hour or a bit less to complete. Additionally, Dr. Hamberlin is quite meticulous in detail and made sure that I understood about the bleaching so that said tooth matched the other teeth so no one could ever tell that it had been "worked on at all". Dr Hamberlin takes pride in his work and he truly cares about his patients, Plus, he is also a hoot! If faced with another dental challenge (hopefully not), I will make sure to go to Red Mountain Endodontics. read more

Dr. Hamberlin has done all my endo work for the past 15 years. He's the best in all ways. Can't say enough good things about this great man. I wouldn't think of letting anyone else work on me or my immediate family. read more

Dr. Woods and staff are absolutely the best! Called with severe tooth pain on Monday afternoon and was seen on Tuesday morning. I knew I was going to need a root canal and had put it off due to my fear of a flair up of my acid reflux from being reclined in the chair and my claustrophobia when the dental dam was put in place. Dr. Woods and his staff were very careful and gentle and completed the procedure with no issue! In and out in less than an hour and felt 100% better than when I arrived. I highly recommend this practice. read more

In response to a collection call I received on December 6, I was prompted to write this review. I visited this office a few months ago when I needed a CBCT to for a more precise image of my tooth structure and to determine possible treatment options. Because I had obtained multiple opinions regarding my tooth, I was unable to recall why the balance on this particular invoice had not been paid. Once I connected the call to the service provider, I remembered why I withheld payment. According to Dr. Hamberlin's evaluation, which also included a CBCT (paid for at the time of the visit), the damage to my tooth was both visible and irreversible. I was informed that there was a significant crack in the tooth extending to the gumline and was advised to schedule an extraction and arrange for an implant. I was further informed that a root canal procedure would not save the tooth. The balance that remained on the account was due to insurance limitations on consultations. Payment was withheld because Dr. Hamberlin's diagnosis was incorrect and had I followed his recommendations, I would have extracted a perfectly healthy tooth that upon further inspection during a root canal procedure, was found to have NO interior or exterior damage beyond pulpitis. To be clear, the standard treatment for irreversible pulpitis is a root canal. The tooth was simply inflamed, and it was recommended I pull it out and undergo a costly and labor-intensive procedure to place a dental implant that was completely unnecessary. I submitted a letter outlining my experiences, along with full payment for the statement balance, to Red Mountain Endo on December 6th. Had I not sought another opinion from Dr. Thomas at Pinnacle Peak Endodontics, I would have lost a critical tooth and would likely be out $2500.00. Either the CBCT I paid for was inferior, or the advice was. Regardless, I wouldn't recommend this office. read more

I was really impressed with this place! My husband received a referral for a root canal, and I trusted the yelp reviews when trying to find a specialist - THEY WERE SPOT ON! Red Mountain was able to get my husabnd in quickly, and when he arrived for is appointment, he was very impressed with his entire experience. The front office staff were professional and friendly, the office was modern with the latest technology, and Dr. Hamberlin did an amazing job. The practice let us know upfront what our costs would be, so there were no surprises. We were even looking for a new dentist and they gave us a great referral. We would highly recommend Red Mountain for your endodontic needs! read more

Dr. Frost and his staff have the best "bedside manner" out there. They took extra care to make sure my procedures were as painless an experience as possible for me. If you need a root canal done, Dr. Frost and his team are the people you want to see! read more

I cannot tell you how blessed I feel to have found Dr. Frost through Harris Dental. Most of the work in my mouth was done at a dentist office on Central Park South in New York City; there was always a celebrity in the waiting room; like most, I assumed it was the best. Needless to say, I had terrible work done there. Through a series of events I ended up in Italy at one of the top dentists in the world having work (root canals, crowns, bridges, etc.) REDONE that I had paid tens of thousands of dollars for just months earlier. Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN also looked at my mouth. One of the dentists there had studied with Dr. Frediani (Italian dentist). Dr. Frediani (who has written text books) finally asked me why I keep coming to him when there are excellent dentists in the States. I told him I had not found any. UNTIL NOW. I rarely post on Yelp, but if I can save someone the nightmare I went through, this post is well worth it. Even if you have doubts, just meet Dr. Frost for a consultation. Not only does he have outstanding credentials, he is most passionate about his work. Rest assured Doctor Frost is one of the best Dentists in the world... who just happens to be in Mesa, Arizona. You will not be disappointed. OH! When my crown chipped, he came in on a Sunday after church during Labor Day weekend. Clearly cares about his patients. read more

Dr Frost is the best! I needed a root canal and wanted internal bleaching done on the tooth. I didn't know what to expect. The whole process took about 40 minutes and was painless!! When I left, my tooth already looked amazing! After the experience I had, I would highly recommend Red Mountain Endodontics to anyone needing a root canal! read more

As a special education teacher I needed to shop around for the best price for my root canal. Red Mountain quoted me at $665 for the operation. The next closest quote I got to that price was for $708. I chose red mountain based off of the price. Three months later they ask me for an additional $480. I called and they explained that they thought insurance would cover more but they did not. Hidden in their contract they stated that they could add any additional costs to my quote as needed. Their estimate was off by almost $500. When I tried to get the matter resolved the person laughed at me and my insurance coverage. My insurance stated they never cover the cost of the additional operation they did and completed without my consent. They fully knew insurance would not cover the cost of the additional operation and did not inform me it was being complete. Be very careful when working with them Red Mountain Endodontics. read more

I wish I could give bonus stars to Dr. Steven Frost at Red Mtn. Endodontics. He has performed 2 of my 4 root canals. Both times have been virtually painless. The process is never 100% comfortable, but Dr. Frost does a great job with pain control and keeping me updated throughout the process. His staff is caring and professional. I give this business the full 5 stars and will recommend them to anyone who needs a root canal. read more

I was referred to see an Edodontist by my Physican, since I was was not referred to a specific one, I researched Red Mountain Edodontics on the Web and after reading reviews I was sure they could find the problem with my Tooth. I seen Dr. Frost and after taking E-Rays, he explained that my Tooth problem indeed needed a Root Canal. It took two sessions to complete the work and I was well satisfied with the procedures. I can't say it was painless, but I was made as comfortable as possible. There is one issue that I was NOT HAPPY about. When the Root Canal had been completed. I was told by Dr. Frost that I now needed to make an appointment with a DDS to have a Crown completed on the Tooth. There was no previous discussion concerning this additional procedure at any time. I was not a happy camper when I found that this additional procedure would cost an additional 1100.00. Had I known this information ahead of time, I would have researched a Dental Service that could have done both procedures or discussed just having the tooth removed as opposed to a very costly two Dental visit. It would seem to me that this lack of information was very unprofessional on Dr Frost and his Staff and I truly resent it. read more

Went to Dr. Frost for a root canal today on tooth #15....way in the back on top...no easy task. Dr. Frost was fabulous, very concerned that I was comfortable at all times. He was quick and efficient. His assistant Brianna was terrific, very competent, friendly and they make a wonderful team. The front desk gals were friendly and welcoming. I like how the office is decorated too. No pain whatsoever. Hey, Dr. Frost...I will be back for a root canal on the other tooth that the endodontist in Chicago messed up on me before I moved to Mesa. I give this doctor and his staff 10+. read more

Dr. Richardson is the best! I went with him after seeing his giant microscope and other tools which the 3 highest rated general dentists I got quotes from didn't have. Turns out his additional training and looking out for my wallet and not just his was possibly just as important. All of the general dentists I saw, said I'll need to replace the knocked out tooth I had come in for with an implant for 3000 - $4,000 (I believe was the cost, it was 7 months ago). Dr. Richardson said it's possible, with a good root canal, it will heal and 7 months later its looking better with each visit! Great staff. Great doctor. read more

Started having a great deal of pain, of course over the weekend. Saw my regular dentist and he did not find anything wrong with the tooth. Called Dr. Hamberlin's office and he was able to see me immediately. Luckily he had an opening the following day for the root canal. I arrived anxious and not only he but the staff immediately calmed me. There was certainly a major problem with that tooth. He is truly any professional plus just being someone you would want to share a glass of wine with him! Immediate relief and today, virtually all the pain is gone. The staff is so friendly and accommodating. Cannot recommend Dr. Hamberline and his staff highly enough. LD Haley read more

I went to see Dr Richardson URGENTLY a few weeks ago. They had me in after my phone call within 30 minutes. I had severe pain in my lower jaw, a xray was done and it was determined I had an Abcess. Dr Richardson was trying to explain to me what was going on but because of the Pain in my head, I couldnt think. He fixed that very quickly with 2 shots of Novacain. Now I could think about what he was telling me. So we made an appointment for the following week as I was already taking antibiotics, and we would get this taken care of. Over night the Pain was so bad, that I called the next day and Dr Richardson called another perscription straight away, and told me to call ANYTIME over the weekend. That was some great reassurance that there was someone to call. He explained everything, made sure I was numb before the procedure was started. I am never a great lover of going to the Dentist, but I am so glad I went to see him. I have to have some other work done and I will be going back to him for sure. Everyone there is great also. read more

Dr. James Hamberlin was recommended by our dentist office as "endodontist that does best work of any they knew in Arizona." Must say Dr. Hamberlin is very skilled & highly knowledgeable, easy to see why they recommend him as the best! In addition it's rare to find a Doctor that's so busy & still cares so much about you as an individual patient. Saw Dr. Hamberlin with one day left before his vacation and a full schedule. He determined better chance of saving tooth by doing time sensitive procedure before his vacation, so he came in hour earier than usual to do it himself instead giving to another Doc or scheduling 10 days later when back from vaca, what a refreshing commitment to the patient...the Best! read more

Seriously, if you are told you need a root canal, do not even consider going anywhere else. I hate getting dental work done, like most people on the planet, BUT, this place is amazing!!!!!!!! Over the years as I have switched dentists, I refer myself to Red Mountain and tell the dentists that I will use nobody else. Each dentist wants you to let them do the work or have someone in their office do it - DON'T EVEN CONSIDER THAT OPTION!!! No dental work is cheap, but Red Mountain doesn't rip your head off in the process of you choosing to use a specialist for THE BEST WORK AND CARE! Dr. Hamberlin is truly the best and I will never use anyone else. read more

Since I needed the dreaded root canal, and Red Mountain received so many 5 stars on Yelp, I gave them a shot. What a great experience. I now have no fear of future root canals. Didn't feel a thing! I will be referring Dr. Frost to all my friends. Many thanks to the great staff also. read more

I started having a toothache on Veteran's Day 2016, but I wasn't able to see my dentist until Monday, November 14, 2016. He ascertained I needed a root canal, and he set up an appointment for me the next day (today) with Dr. Frost. Dr. Frost was great, as was his staff and assistant. I had minimal pain when he gave me three shots of novocain. From there on, I felt absolutely no pain! Fantastic. I was out of there in about an hour, then back to my dentist for a temporary crown. The novocain has worn off now (about 5 hours later). I have a little tenderness, but two tablets of acetaminophen have taken care of it. I would recommend Dr. Frost with Red Mountain Endodontics to anyone! read more

I had a root canal done years ago by a man who was VERY good at them. However, at the time, he was unaware that one of my teeth have 3 ROOTS in it when it was supposed to have only one. Back then, there was no way to tell. But Dr. Frost found it! AND he fixed it perfect and if I do say so myself, he is the NICEST man in the world. If you are afraid, you don't need to be from him. I used to have the WORST teeth before I got Drs. Harris and Dr. Frost, but you should see them now! I look like a moviestar! My teeth before looked like a halloween pumpkin! GO TO HIM. To be clear, this is the first time I have ever posted a review on Yelp. I do so because my experience was so outstanding that I must share it. Last week I was in dire need of a root canal. Like many, I knew it was coming and had put it off to the point of tremendous pain. My regular family dentist (a spectacular Dr.) does not do root canals and referred me to Red Mountain Endodontics. In a hurried series of phone calls with an incredibly helpful and kind office staff, I made an appointment to have to procedure conducted. I must emphasize that the pain I was in was absolutely indescribable, beyond anything I've ever felt in my life. To make a long story short, billing was handled and I visited the office. Dr Frost did the root canal himself after explaining the ins and outs of the procedure. It should be noted that his "bedside manner" is A+ and helps contribute to a general sense of calm. The root canal was successful, the pain relief was immediate and I can continue with my life. We regularly read negative reviews. Its really important that when we encounter good people doing a superior job that we pass that information along. I will refer anyone I know to Red Mountain. They are nothing short of incredible and while I hope I never need "hard-core" dental work again, if I do, they'll be my first call! read more
