I haven't been to a Red Lobster in years. This use to be the go to spot for crab legs. There are now so many new options for crab, they hardly come to mind. But, their food is still good. The shrimp scampi, coconut shrimp, and crispy dragon shrimp were on point. Along with the biscuits, I was carried back to ole good times. The salad was delicious too. The prices have definitely changed! The service was great at this particular establishment. My knock was the building itself. It needs a remodel. You step in, and it feels old and dank. It smells in the foyer. It just wasn't inviting. I almost had the unction to turn around and go somewhere else. I'm glad I didn't allow the entrance to turn me around, but it was close. Friday at 5 PM, the parking lot wasn't full, as were other restaurants in the area. That should have been my first clue to go somewhere else. And when my wife and I entered the business, it smelled like stale fish, almost overpowering. She has no sense of smell, so it didn't bother her. At the table, I told the server it felt sticky and asked for a good wipe down. She said the table was old (which it was) and the stickiness came from the wood. Okay, the bad is out of the way; the good is that the food was good, my variety platter was hot and tasty except for the rice, which tasted like yesterday's rice. My wife's lobster was also excellent, and the service was good. Those good points are the only reason I didn't give a one-star review. The place needs to be closed for a day or two while a very thorough deep cleaning takes place, as well as refubishing or replacing the aging furniture. Until that is done, we will not return. This is an honest review from the day we went on 10/10/22 to celebrate a special occasion. There were five of us and we arrived right around 3:30 PM. It wasn't very busy at all. Three of us ordered the "Ultimate Endless Shrimp", one a child's meal, and the other fresh trout. From the start the server wasn't too pleased with us, from what I gathered, but it continued on throughout the meal. When you're out celebrating a special occasion with loved ones, you kinda want to enjoy it and have it be memorable. Right? The food took about an hour to arrive, and again, it really was not bush at all. We did get some biscuits, and we did request more, but those didn't show up until after the food finally arrived. Once I finished my initial two servings of shrimp, one was the scampi with bacon/Parmesan and the other was the Walt's favorite, and my Brussels sprouts, when or server came back through about 10 minutes after I was done...she asked if anyone wanted more shrimp. When I began to rattle off two or three different types, she said "it's only one order at a time". Huh? I've been going for the Endless Shrimp promotion for years, easily over a decade, and usually when the server knows/recognizes that you are going to eat more than a single refill or two, they generally offer up the suggestion themselves to bring 2-3 (or more) orders at a time. I've never been denied more than two orders placed at a time on refills. Never. The long story condensed. I went to RL specifically for the Endless Shrimp. We were there from 3:30 to 6:00 PM, and aside from my Brussels sprouts, two biscuits, and the water I drank, I ate a total of 65 shrimp or various recipes. That was my meal, and I'm a big eater, and had been looking forward to partaking in the many scrimps for several weeks, just as in years past. It's nothing for me to put away 100-150 individual shrimp(s). To have to wait and ONLY be permitted to have one refill order at a time, it was a little ridiculous, and obviously they're trying to dissuade people from actually having "Endless shrimp". In 2.5 hours, you should be able to eat more than 65, if that's your thing, especially when all you have to eat aside from the shrimp are two biscuits and a small plate of Brussels sprouts. Right? Overall, this experience this year leaves me with no desire to revisit Red Lobster again any time soon. Definitely not the Tupelo, MS location. When you have an empty restaurant and a family trying to celebrate, why make it an unpleasant experience by being slow and denying a man some scrimps?! I'm sure RL won't ever reach out, but $104 plus tip isn't exactly a drop in the bucket, and I was made to feel like I was a nuisance to the employees there. If they do reach out then I may revise this from a one star to two or three. Overall I didn't feel welcome, I didn't genuinely get to partake in "Endless" shrimp, mainly because I didn't have all night to sit there. 2.5 hours was long enough, and in all reality, in that amount of time a person could eat 150-300 shrimp, if they chose to. Arrived midafternoon so expected little traffic compared to the traffic a few hours earlier. I was seated immediately after observing the absence of live lobster in the tank it the store's entrance. I asked the manager on duty and was told that they have had no liive lobster for 3 months or so. I asked if they still had lobster and was told they have frozen tails. I asked about the size of those frozen tails and was told they were the pretty standard ones (5-6ounces was his guess). While enjoying Red Lobster's famous biscuits, I decided on the Ultimate Feast with two Maine lobster tails, shrimp linguine and a skewer of grilled shrimp on a bed of rice served with melted butter, lemon with a garden salad and a butter and sour cream baked potato for my two sides. The lobsters were the star of the meal as expected. The shrimp linguine was also very good though I would have liked a larger portion. The grilled shrimp were a little drybut both sides were excellent. The potato was cooked very well and the garden salad was fresh and colorful with a good thousand island dressing. The service was unusually good given the paucity of diners and was outgoing and helpful with her suggestions. The ambiance was delightfully low key, quiet and pleasant allowing for a really good meal. The $39.99 for the Ultimate Feast was worth the cost. The piece of key lime pie for just under $9 was exhorbitant and I chose to let them keep their "far too sweet for my tastes" dessert. While I will definitely do this again, there is one very important issue the buyer should be aware of: 2 of the 3 menu's provided HAD NARY A PRICE TO BE FOUND. So, like some third world countries, we might be charged whatever they think we will be able to pay for. They failed to even use the oft posited and abysmally overused "*market price" meme of those who charge more than they are proud of. I stopped in before heading to my hotel, and glad I did. The host was welcoming and friendly as he escorted me to a table. I was immediately greeted by the waitress asking for my drink and took my food order. I waited only a few minutes and my drink, salad and biscuits arrived! Wow great service and the biscuits are my FAVORITE! YUM Then a few minutes later my shrimp and green beans arrived. The food was steaming hot and delicious. We almost avoided this restaurant due to the negative reviews, but we went against our better judgement and dined in anyway. I'm really glad we did! We have now dined here twice and both times the food has been delicious--probably the best of any Red Lobster I've had in the last couple of years. Both waitresses we've had have been very friendly and attentive--our last waitress was awesome and our drinks were never empty before she refilled them. I'll agree that the service is a little slow (although I'm starting to think this might just be the Mississippi norm and not exclusive to Red Lobster) and you should allow at least an hour plus for dinner on a slow day (both times we've been here it has been off-peak and still we've waited to be seated several minutes and I waited almost an entire meal for a margarita once). TLDR: Ditch the reviews. The food is great. Don't come expecting to be in and out. read more

Ordered a curbside pickup meal from them today. It was supposed to include a lobster tail. Needless to say I was very upset when I arrived home and there was no lobster. We came biking into Tupelo - 87 miles on the Natchez Trace. We spotted Red Lobster and decided on it immediately since we thought we were starving. We ordered our dinners.....took too long. Though we did not complain, our server noticed the delay, notified the manager who came over to speak to us and "made it right". I was incredibly impressed by his proactive customer service. We visited the Red Lobster in Tupelo Ms on Christmas Eve around 3:30 in the afternoon. What a delightful experience. The food was excellent and our waitress was super. She's only been working there two months. Leticia was extremely attentive but not overbearing. She checked on us often for any needs we may have had. we were there a couple of hours just enjoying the experience. We never felt rushed. The manager stopped by the table to be sure we were being taking good care of. It was an extremely delightful experience. We will definitely be back. Our check number was 38300. If I was rating this on cheddar biscuits alone, my friends, this would be five stars with a bullet. Alas... if only the rest of the meal were as good as the prelude. We ate here for lunch on a Saturday, and the wait was a few minutes at the most, and our water was polite and helpful. I ordered the bourbon-peach shrimp and scallops with broccoli on the side. The meal comes with a side salad, which was pure iceberg (v. sad) and totally drenched in dressing. The broccoli was unseasoned and dry as a bone, as if it had just been heated up without being steamed, and the shrimp and scallops were fine, if not memorable. I don't usually order a steak at a seafood restaurant. Red Lobster proved that you shouldn't. I've never had a bad meal at this restaurant, but this had to be the worst experience. Don't order the sirloin and wood-fired skewered shrimp combo. I couldn't even cut the steak and when able to, I chewed it awkwardly and had to get rid of with my napkin. I asked to take the steak home just in case their knives weren't able to cut these steaks. My husband's was less tough, but not by much. I cut both of our steaks cold the next day with a sharp steak knife and still not able to cut it. I will stick to my old favorite seafood items. Our waitress seemed to always be missing or on a smoke break. Her clothing highly smelled of the "just smoked a cigarette" smell. What a waste of money! read more

For dinner they have a pick 4 that is more than anyone can eat. This place could work on the service speed and it would be much better. Once we arrived we went straight in and told them our party name and the number and was told "yes here's your check in and we are putting down that you are here. Should be about 10-15 minutes." The rudest server I have ever encounter is Asha. I seriously recommend if she is your server or even in the restaurant.... don't eat here! You have been warned! Our table had not been bused between appetizers, so when our food started to arrive and we had no where for it to be placed, I simply sat our dirty dishes on an already dirty table to our left. "Asha- the 300lb sawed-off honey badger" decided to pick up the plates and literally slam them down on our table while loudly proclaiming "I'm trying to clean my table... "yous" not gonna do that". When I became irate and demanded her name she whipped her weave and proclaimed "my name asha you go tell them yo story ain't nothing gonna happen". The manager was apologetic but as long as "asha" remains employed, I won't be eating here anymore. We both made eye contact with him to try to get Venigar (waitress not around) and he totally acted like he didn't see us. Waitress was new and very sweet. Only thing she did wrong was not write the order wright and not ask if we needed the vinegar or whatever. They don't tend to use Vinagar much in the south, and usually never served with fish and chips, they do have Vinigar clold slaw! The muffins were great, as usual and she brought us some to take home. I called in a take out order at just before 4 p.m. on Saturday and ordered 3 entrees and a lunch size portion of the alfredo pasta with 3 extra biscuits. I was told 15-20 minutes. When I arrived about 15 minutes later I waited another 20 minutes or more on top of that. I was told repeatedly that it would be just another minute. When I finally contacted the manager he gave me a gift card for every minute I had to wait, $15. When I got home which is a 30 minute drive, the pasta was not there, so my kids had no dinner!!!!!!! I gave them mine so they could eat after I was made late getting home by half an hour!!! I did not even bother calling the restaurant because I wasn't going to go back!!!! I will never patron a red lobster again and the gift card I was given will be put in the trash!! I wouldn't make anyone else go thru this!! and this is not the first time and I don't know why I keep going back but this was my last time!!!!!!
