I hadn't been to Red Lobster in awhile, my parents wanted to go and have dinner, it was a Wednesday evening-my mom told me they had steak and lobster special on Wednesday's so I was all in! When we arrived the restaurant was not very busy at all, there were plenty of open tables by bar and then the next row but we were sat in an area over by the bathrooms. There was one other table that had about 6 people or so, and we were seated in a booth nearby. Our server was friendly and greeted us fairly promptly. We ordered our drinks and dinner And as we sat waiting it was rather annoying that the table party of 6 was talking rather loud the entire time. I realize it happens at restaurants however it was not busy and besides them-the restaurant was quiet, we could hear everything that they were talking about. Our food came out and we tried to enjoy our dinner but the atmosphere was just too much for us. Another large group was sat directly across from us and oddly even with kids they were not loud. It seemed like that little area kept getting sat which I understand sections for the servers. Overall server was attentive and food was delicious, I do recommend their Steak/Lobster Special. I know it's not RL fault for loud people, I know they were enjoying each other's company and prob didn't realize how loud they were being. read more

Hey Yelpers, stopped at this Red Lobster over lunch and was quite happy with the food and service, Brian was our waiter and with a young child and 2 other adults in our lathe was awesome. The youngest was not sure what they wanted but after a few thoughts he got us taken care of. Got her the popcorn shrimp appetizer with fries and they were happy. This is not so much a review as an obituary. Topeka is now a seafood desert. Our Red Lobster was as good as every spot in the chain, plus it wasn't too busy, so you didn't have to wait. The food was pedestrian at best, but it was seafood and better than the seafood at Golden Corral or Perkins. I don't get the whole "Cheddar Bay" biscuit thing, but my wife liked them. The Admiral feast and Ultimate Feast was perfect for a family of 4. Very filling and don't even get me started on how delicious everything was! the biscuits were MELT IN YOUR MOUTH PARADISE!!!!! The waitresses were incredibly rude and spoke horrendous words in front of us in Spanish (suprise, we are both Spanish speakers) and ignored us the entire time until we paid. Not for seafood, not for Red Lobster, but for the woman I'm going to spend the rest of my life with. I went to Red Lobster with my girlfriend knowing that she planned to propose to me there. We have a wild sense of humor, and the idea of saying yes to forever in front of a tank of crustaceans was hilarious. What I didn't expect from my Red Lobster experience was to come away with a new perspective about life and love. At this restaurant, my future wife and I were chastised and belittled in a way that normally would have made me want to throw myself into a volcano. But I didn't want to do that. I didn't even have a bad time. Because all I needed to be happy, even in the worst of situations, was to be with my partner. She made me realize that even through the hell that is Red Lobster, I would still choose to marry her in front of that goddamn lobster tank. I love you, Eva. I will spend the rest of my life loving you. I have no doubt in my mind that you are my forever person. We have trudged through the agonizing depths of poor food service together and laughed through it, loving each other the whole way. The people that work there are friendly. Walked in and 3/4 of tables are empty but there is a 35 minute wait because they are short staffed. Yet , there are three people at the host stand doing nothing. The bartender had no customers, why not let people order from the bar? Last time we were there was a year ago and service was promo, restaurant was clean and food was delicious. This time the restaurant was unkempt. Trays of dishes were just left behind tables and not taken back to the kitchen at all. The carpet had not been vacuumed in a while as little items were on the floor. The menu had food items on the inside . Then the food was sub par I think maybe everyone is new and there aren't any experienced people working there. Hopefully they send people from other red lobsters to train the staff. This town has seen too many restaurants go out of business because of not having workers trained to do their part ( old Chicago, Aj's pizza) Not here anymore sadly It's simple .clean as you go. I was there 2 weeks ago. A couple comes in with a dog (not a service dog) and was allowed to eat there. The bathroom had feces everywhere! There was a young lady with a child coming out and she said don't go in there my daughter is going to have to hold it it's filthy! We went for my husband's birthday. We should have realized the bad sign of barely having any customers on a Saturday night. When we got our food, not only was the batter raw, but there fibrous stuff all through the fish. It was truly disgusting. We couldn't complain because our waitress disappeared completely and there was no staff. I emailed the company and got no response. No response speaks volumes.We will never go back. Horrible food! Way below Red Lobster standard. Burned cheddar biscuits. The rest of the food was cold. There was something gross in the middle of my mashed potatoes. I still have no idea what I ate. It was squishy though. Salad dressing tasted rotten. All food was awful, and my stomach bothered me for the next two days. What's interesting about that is that it's not like I finished any of the food I was eating because it was so nasty. Normally, I love Red Lobster. I'm from North Houston. This was my first time eating at Red Lobster in Topeka and lets just say I was thoroughly impressed. From the staff to the food, everything was 5 stars. I wasn't able to get any pictures due to my hungry stomach but I ordered a shrimp trio featuring the Parrot Isle Jumbo coconut shrimp, scampi, and the wood-grilled shrimp. The scampi was so succulent that I wished all three entrees were just that! Our server was a male and he made sure that we were taken care of from drinks, to hot biscuits and food made to perfection. Even the Manager on duty was there walking around ensuring customer satisfaction. My husband and I definitely got what we paid for and I cannot wait to go back soon to treat ourselves. I made a reservation on "Google Reserve A Table" for Valentines evening. I called 2 days prior to the reservation to verify that they acknowledged reservations from Google Reserve A Table. It was confirmed that they did use it and that I did have a reservation. When my wife and I showed up for our reservation, we were told that it would be a 2 hour wait. My complaint is really just about the customer service of management. I placed an online order, which required me to give my phone number and email, but when I arrived they let me know they were out of an entree I ordered. While a notification either by that same number or email would have been great, this was fine. The kicker that was no discount was offered for the inconvenience, and instead I just had the pleasure of waiting out front for an extra 30 minutes for my full priced entree. Being in the center of the country we do not have a lot of options for seafood and these chains bring a small glimmer of hope to those of us who greatly enjoy a something other than steak and burgers. My favorite meal is the ultimate feast as you get a few crab legs a lobster tail and two different types of shrimp. My wife is a big fan of the Parrot bay coconut shrimp with pina colata sauce. I hadn't been to Red Lobster in awhile, but had good food and good service before, so I took a good friend there for a celebration (she loves seafood). First the good stuff. The food was really good - when we finally got the food. We waited for our WATER and drinks for 10 minutes. We then got the water and two biscuits. Then, 20 minutes later, I finally signaled a bus boy, who got someone to refill our drinks. The waitress showed up and said she was sorry but the kitchen was slow, and left our table. Two tables came in after us and got their food in short order. It took OVER AN HOUR to get our food. I exaggerate - it was 55 minutes. Again, the waitress apologized and blamed everyone but herself. I saw her off chatting for awhile when we were waiting. As a former waitress (as is my friend) we figured she saw two old women sitting there and figured she was thinking we'd be bad tippers. I asked for the manager, who finally came over and apologized. That was nice, but any restaurant I was ever working for that got that kind of complaint did more than say "we're really sorry" and walk away. I will probably go back another time and hope the service is at least acceptable. Not asking for miracles. This restaurant, based on this one visit, has gone way downhill. read more

I saw the excreta as half size of my finger,and the manager told me I did not tell them to clean the lobster so they did not! The food is okay, the ambiance is a bit loud our server was nice, BUT... we went to the Open Table website the day before to see if they took reservations. Apparently they do not and we understood that. However, they state they will put you on a "wait list" and seat you as soon as possible. When we arrived the hostess told us she didn't have our name. After searching for 5 or 6 minutes she found it and then told us it would be 35 to 40 minutes. We asked about the wait list and she said this is what it is. So my comment here is: Be aware that when using the wait list, be prepared to wait a long time. Maybe you won't, but I wouldn't count on it. It was overall 45 minutes before we were seated. Now, we thought maybe they were short tables. Nope, we saw several that were empty. Maybe staffing. If so, they had 4 or 5 people hovering around the front hostess desk most of the time. Use your best judgement, but as you can read, others have made complaints as well and no one at the restaurant seems to read these or just does not seem to care. read more
