This is my first stop when I'm in the area and I was sooo looking forward to the popcorn shrimp I have been dreaming about....but sadly it was a HUGE disappointment! The shrimp is NOT popcorn shrimp anymore!! It's a larger shrimp with tails with too much batter with a weird flavor that sticks to your mouth and left a bad aftertaste. I looked online and the site still shows pictures of the REAL popcorn shrimp that I remember so why are they serving this bad substitution? I still give it 3 stars: - friendly greeting at door - our server was great - I love the biscuits (they got smaller, but still taste wonderful) - The salad was plentiful and their seasoned croutons are yum - hush puppies (nice addition to menu) were good - fish & chips were hot and crispy On the downside: - obviously the NOT "popcorn shrimp" - Burger was okay - The portions (biscuits & fries) seem smaller Please bring back the real popcorn shrimp!! read more

Our party of 8 didn't enjoy all of our items we ordered. The best ones we enjoyed were the lobster flat bread and grilled salmon with broccoli and mashed potatoes, burger and French fries. Walt's shrimp while crispy tasted too salty. The grilled shrimp on skewers was cold and looked like it was sitting for a while and didn't even looked or tasted grilled. April 25, 2026 - sat at the bar and it took 9 minutes to order a drink. It would have taken longer, but the drunk couple 4 seats over flagged down a waitress and said "this man is waiting for a drink.". I guess they were trying to help when help was asked for. The bartender never took my food order after I sat at the bar for 20 minutes. So....... service sucks and the drink I ordered (LI Iced Tea) sucked. Service was slow. We were sitting for at 15 mins and 2 booths near us after we arrived has a waitress. Serafina noticed we haven't been served yet, and to find out who was supposed to at our table as she has clocked out already. She took our drinks and food order and will find out who will be serving us. Billy brought our drinks and Serafina apologized for the wait. She went above and beyond to make sure we had a waiter/waitress. I would give Serafina 5 stars for service. Billy is very attentive and ensure we had what we ordered. Erick was on point this evening! He took exceptional care of my family for our dinner. Super friendly and attentive! My son has the Cajun butter crab, he said it was amazing, potatoes on the bottom soaked up all that butter. Walt's shrimp and the coconut shrimp were perfect and the Cajun Alfredo was a hit for the hubby and daughter. Thank you for such great service on a crazy busy Valentine's Day! I really wanted lobster scampi but it's no longer on their menu, so I opted for the Pepperdalle with Lobster, tomatoes and asparagus in a buttery garlic sauce. It was delicious ! I am a fan of the Ronkonkoma Red Lobster. As a matter of fact, I have been a fan of Red Lobster since the early 1980s when my dad would treat my brother and I to the Stony Brook location a few miles north of this outpost. I know that it's a chain and that the staff did not drive down the Long Island Expressway and catch fresh fish off the Long Island Sound and serve it here. It is and has been a reliable casual restaurant to delight in tasty seafood. At approximately twenty years old, this Red Lobster just off the Long Island Expressway South Service Road is the newest Long Island location. Even taking into consideration that it could be a replacement for the closed down Islandia outpost. What makes this Red Lobster unique for Long Island is that it is a distance from a regional shopping destination. However, it was close to my dad's house, and that is why we ate at this one. On Monday, March 29th, in the afternoon it was not busy. With the blue lobster of Covid-19 around, Red Lobster was taking social distancing seriously. As soon as we walked in, there was a human sized sign notifying the customer of their Covid-19 protocols. As soon ad I set eyes on the sign, the host set eyes on my dad, brother, and I. He walked us to our table. On the table was the two page menu. Being a Monday the three of us ordered the All You Can Eat Shrimp Special Monday. At $17.99 they give you a choice of four all you can eat shrimp: coconut shrimp, garlic shrimp scampi, and shrimp skewers plus a side. My side was rice. With that I ordered a bottomless Coke. Both our original waiter and the one that relieved him did a solid job waiting on us. This included checking to see if it was time for a shrimp refill. There was zero catch to the shrimp refills. And zero attitude. They did not hurry us. For the record my favorite was the shrimp scampi. The solid service started when the original waiter placed the complimentary tasty cheesy biscuits on the clean table and ended when we walked to the car. Eight years after writing my first Red Lobster Yelp review on a Phoenix location, I also rate this one which is nearly across the continent four stars. The nice thing about chain restaurants is that I can enjoy similar food to a location a couple thousand miles away at a location near me. If I had had not had a four star experience here, I would not be saying this. read more

I had a craving for Scampi and I used to love the one at Red Lobster so I decided to give it a try after a long while. Service was excellent. I did the three course menu with a garden salad, coconut shrimp and scampi. The salad was solid (and I like the Mango pineapple dressing, different with a little kick) and coconut shrimp pretty delicious (and I would not mind a vat of the dipping sauce) but the scampi was lacking a bit. The shrimp were a good size/generous portion but the sauce was just meh. I'm fairly certain the switched from fresh garlic to garlic powder with has a very distinct taste, slightly bitter which overpowered everything else. Not inedible but not great. The grilled asparagus side did have the fresh garlic and was nicely cooked. read more

We have frequented this red lobster for 8 years. We haven't gone since Covid was bad, and decided to go last night on our way home from my godsons basketball game. I had a hankering for biscuits, soup, and a good red lobster drink. My husband never got his drink, my surf & turf came with no surf, lobster bisque IS OFF THE MENU! The table was filthy when we were seated. So disappointed. This is one of the two locations close to home and it was such an awful experience. I'm never going there again. What a shame. read more

It's been a while since date night and we had a gift card so that's how we landed here. I used to come as a kid and always remember waiting forever for a table but over the years I feel this establishment has gone downhill. It did have some good moments but definitely had it's bad too. We were seated by a very pleasant girl, my husband asked to sit us with a view as it was our date night ( so romantic ) and she proceeded to show us a table with an ocean view. I thought that was cute, there were signs at empty tables for Covid Distancing so that was great. The waiter introduced himself and asked if we would like something to drink, I order a Bahama Moma and my husband a Heineken. Although my drink was beautifully presented it really tasted like a slushy from the 7. I couldn't taste any alcohol. A little disappointing for $8.79. My husband finished his beer before the appetizer came and when the waiter delivered the bacon wrapped scallops he never picked up on the fact that my husbands beer was empty and it was pushed to the front of the table. These are things you hope your waiter takes note of. Not only is it bad customer service but he is losing out on a bigger bill for a bigger tip. He did however take time to make chit chat. I really couldn't understand with his accent, the masks and my bad hearing so we just listened to be polite. Next came a delicious Cesar salads, he still did not notice the empty beer and now he left us with the salads without taking the empty appetizers plates with him. I also did not realize until after he left that there was no salt or pepper on the table, and I'm guessing it's because of Covid but I really enjoy pepper on my Cesar Salad. What ever happened to the fresh pepper they used to offer you when you order a Cesar salad? Like 3 minutes later a different gentleman came to deliver our orders of crab legs. I would have preferred to have finished my small Cesar salad before more plates came but I finished up quickly and rearranged all the plates on the table to get my crab legs in front of me and they were stone cold, not even a hint that they ever made it near a pot of hot water. Our waiter came by to ask how we were doing and I told him about our cold crab legs and he did remove them and returned with them actually hot and yes all the plates are just pilling up on the table , I just don't understand how he can't see all the extra stuff on the table, the empty bread basket, the empty beer, two empty appetizers plate as well as the plate the appetizer came on and now the empty salad plates. Geeez, if I wanted to sit amongst clutter I could have stayed home. Just disappointing so disappointing. I hope I never get another gift card for Red Lobster . read more

Everything that we ordered here came out perfectly and timely, I'm not sure that you could ask for anything more. and so I did ;) More deeeelicious cheddar bay biscuits. Service is very prompt and friendly here and the 20 minute wait was definitely well worth all the Good Times & Good Food that we all enjoyed. I ordered food during the height of the pandemic. Lines out the door. After 3 hours we ordered from another restaurant had delicious food and all went well. Needless to say, they called me hours later and said come and get it. I said hey listen 5 hours already past Just credit me. I made the decision to eat a the Red Lobster which I walked to from my hotel. The food was ok. Truthfully the bartender had such outstanding service that I would come back just for that. She was very personable and although I asked for refills so many times on my sweet tea she laughed and was very attentive. She told me after I asked and they do not have sweet tea premade. So she had to make it how I like it every time. Since I travel a lot I see so many people in the service industry and lately there are so many who just do not care and the service is lousy. I was hesitant going to the Red Lobster for lunch, because I've been disappointed at other locations throughout our travels. A friend said, "We order from the Red Lobster in Ronkonkoma all the time, and the food is delicious...also there is a special everyday." We agreed to meet at one PM. It's on the south service road of the LIE...easy off location. The parking lot only had a few cars. Probably because of Covid...I thought. We were seated quickly at a table that was cozy, quiet and warm. William D was our waiter. He was very pleasant, and turned off the music in our area. The drinks were ordered and we pondered the elaborate menu. We did not order the special, and picked and chose. It was so good to be out with friends. There was no rushing us. We ordered the Lobster Bisque Soup, which was tasty, but lacking in pieces of lobster. The 2 bowls of Shrimp Scampi were perfect, I took one bowl home, and the Roasted Broccoli was a hit. Just a tad less sweet sauce would have made it perfect, which was the case for the Kung Pao Lobster Noodles. I did not order coffee and dessert, but tasted the Key Lime Pie, which was delicious. I wanted Red Lobster for the usual post-Covid take out meal: Coconut shrimp - delicious as usual Salad w/ranch - delicious as usual Baked potato w/butter - delicious as usual Cheddar bay biscuits- you guessed it, delicious For my birthday dessert, I usually enjoy in-house, the chocolate chip lava cookie. They didn't have it!!! So, I settled for the chocolate wave cake. It was the best cake I'd ever had. Okay, so I ate this in the evening & made sure to burn the 1490 calories. Well worth it. I'm not a fan of the chips, so i scraped them off the edge of the cake-I was so happy they weren't baked inside the cake. I popped that bad boy in the microwave for a minute. That cake was off the chain! It was so delicious, moist & my vanilla ice cream/which Red Lobster is always stingy with, was ok. So I got a happy birthday wish email from Red Lobster inviting me to a free dessert. Who do you think is proudly going to pick up that chocolate wave cake with a salad? Muah! Hadn't been to Red Lobster in a while. The Cheddar Bay Biscuits were terrible. Gooey undercooked and flavorless. I spoke to the manager and he made a fresh properly cooked batch but they were still rather flavorless compared to previous visits. The clam chowder was also flavorless and BLAND. The seafood mushrooms were overpriced and not anything special. The salad was good. All-in-all I think Red Lobster has sunken into the swamp of restaurants that are no longer worthy of my $$$$. read more

Husband and I took my son and his girlfriend out to dinner on New Year's day to their favorite restaurant. They raved about the meal from start to finish. Personally my husband and I am not fans of Red Lobster, stopped going over fifteen years ago mainly because they use way to much salt. Feelings haven't changed. And to top it off my meal was served luke warm, mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts had cold spots in them.I can't stand when seafood is served warm! Appetizers did come out hot as well as the biscuits. Didn't want to spoil the kids night so my husband and I did not complain. I hope management reads this review to make improvements for future customers. I gave an extra star because our server Anthony was outstanding and a pleasure. I went to the Red Lobster in Ronkonkoma tonight with my mother for dinner for the lobsterfest! We were looking forward to going and had planned this for weeks. I was disappointed to find out the Caesar Salads were no longer included with the meals! Especially since the lobsterfest meals are pretty pricey Our waiter was very nice and attentive and we asked about getting our cheesy biscuits with our meal. He said they were being prepared and he would bring them out when they were done. We got out meals, but the biscuits didn't come out until. We were almost done with our meal. We decided the split a dessert and pack up the rest of our food to take home and asked for extra biscuits to take home with them. Our waiter did get them for us. We usually come to Red Lobster for the coconut shrimp dinner! Which is our favorite! But we decided to come tonight for the Lobstefest! We both got double lobster tails. With broccoli and I had mashed potatoes and my mom had a baked potato! We both enjoyed our meals despite they didn't come with the Caesar Salad. While some family members liked their meals, dinner etc. I will detail my own experience. I shared the "Lobster Lovers Dream" with my mother. Listed on their website: Lobster Lover's Dream® $43.99 | 1730 Calories A roasted rock lobster tail, butter-poached Maine lobster tail and lobster-and-shrimp linguini in a creamy lobster sauce. Served with melted butter, lemon and choice of two sides. For our sides we ordered the Cesar's salad and the loaded baked potato. The roasted rock lobster tail was mushy and had no substance, half of it was falling out of the shell into the butter stuff, it was like mushy fluff. it was disgusting. The butter poached main lobster was ok. My mother thought it was tough. My half was partially cooked, but not very good, sweet or flavorful. The lobster in the lobster-and-shrimp-linguini was very tough (over cooked, and the shrimp bland and a bit mushy. The sauce needed salt/seasoning and was bland. The Cesar's salad, lettuce, was mushy as it had appeared to have been dressed much earlier in the evening and the lettuce was wilted from the dressing. The loaded baked potatoes was a bit firm but was the star of the meal, if you can believe that in a seafood restaurant. The OWNER OF THIS FRANCHISE should FIRE THE MANAGER and KITCHEN STAFF and contact the franchise and sue them for providing such inferior PRODUCTS. Me and my boyfriend went here for the endless shrimp deal they had going on, and I didn't know what expectations to have since I haven't been to a Red Lobster in about 10 years. But I was pleasantly surprised! Shrimp can go wrong quick if you don't cook it properly and every shrimp dish we had was perfectly cooked! Had a week long training at the Courtyard Marriott hotel next door since I haven't dined out since Covid, Big mistake. The Red Lobster looked old dusty and very dark and gloomy, like a vampire lived there. Olga was my hostess she was normal. Food was normal. The drink I ordered was a Perrier it was brought in a glass bottle but with a foggy, dusty drinking wine glass. I just drink it out the bottle it didn't bother me. Before leaving I dropped something on the floor because it's so dark had to use my light on my phone to find it. Definitely found it with lots of dirt,debris and very old food. Also I came to the restaurant at 11:00am pretty much when they opened up. This is definitely unacceptable Olga definitely did her best I think management needs to be held accountable.
