This was the day before Mothers Day so it was busy after we arrived however the service was unacceptable, first of all 3 of us wanted to order a baked potato with our order but was told the kitchen would take 25 minutes to prepare more so we ordered mash potatoes which was a cold lump of mash, our broccoli was hard one of our diners sent it back to steam of which is what she asked for. We all had grilled salmon which was good. We actually waited 25 minutes for our food so we could have had the baked potato. One diner asked for more biscuits to go and we were ready to leave but we were kept waiting because Michael was called to service other tables. We only knew this because one of the waitress came in our area to clean and told us what was happening. We traveled from Gainesville since our Red Lobster closed. Red lobster has really gone downhill. I ordered Fish and chips and got fish and a baked potato because they ran out of fries. the fish tasted like frozen fish from the grocery store. The boil was way overpriced for the small portion you receive. The coleslaw was old and spoiled. Their new menu does not include fresh grilled fish. The boil was too spicy. I had to wait 35 minutes for biscuits. I anticipate they will close soon. There is no way they will stay afloat in today's economy. The world may be changing all around us, but was no nice to have this constant that was exactly the way I remembered. The experience at this particular Red Lobster left us with the the idea that we won't ever go back there again. Tuesday night at just before 7pm, not very busy. Plenty of tables available but none were cleaned off so we had to wait about 10 minutes before we were seated. Our server took at least 5 or more minutes to at least acknowledge us. Placed our drink order and ordered an appetizer. Then ordered our entrees. 30 minutes later no appetizer and our server has not returned to our table to let us know what the hold up is and to refill our drinks. We finally were able to flag him down and ask about our appetizer and he said he would check. Comes back and says it's ready and would we like it with our meal. Told him don't bother now as our dinner is ready and the appetizer would be a waste. 45 minutes after placing our order we finally get our meal. My wife's baked potato was hard as rock inside so we sent it back. Next one was just as bad, almost needed a knife to cut it. Sent that back and got rice instead. Looked like a plate of Minute rice, no flavor what so ever. By this time we had lost our appetite so we got boxes to go. For what we were being charged for this meal was a shame. My hubby and I went for lunch today and it took them 30 minutes to bring our food after I told the waitress that we would pay only what we had which was an appetizer soda and a drink. I normally find Red Lobster to have good food even if they are a little more expensive. Today l found a managerial problem that needs to be corrected. We were there shortly after noon and the server informed us there were NO baked potatoes and there would be none all day! The seafood stuffed mushrooms weren't even edible, and the mushrooms served not cooked and raw, with no crab filling, and just this bread crumb stuffing, not enough cheese too. Endless shrimp...it brought us to Red Lobster last week. From the full parking lot to the jampacked dining rooms, it was a challenge. The menu made no mention of "endless shrimp" being a special. It became clear why - they didn't want anybody to know it because they were overwhelmed with shrimp orders already. Not enough servers and just one bartender for the entire restaurant including the bar. After waiting 20 minutes for our beer and wine, my wife walked to the bar to get them. That's when she learned how bad the server situation was. Servers were pleasant but incredibly overwhelmed. I never did get a cork so that we could legally take home our partial bottle of wine. If you want the worst restaurant experience you have ever experienced in your life and a Lobster Bisque that doesn't resemble or taste anything like the real thing... then this is the place to go. The Lobster Bisque was literally inedible as it tasted like a whole salt shaker had been emptied into it. My significant other and I went there on December 23, 2022, to treat ourselves to a nice seafood dinner. The restaurant was almost empty. We had 3 different wait staff and service was almost non-existent. First, it took forever to get our orders and when they did come out it was without any condiments. We asked for condiments and they too took forever to come out as well... by then our dinners were stone cold. We then sat there waiting for our check for an agonizing time. After waiting so long, frustrated we walked up to the front desk and told the Greeter we needed a check. We told her at 87 and 75 years old we had just experienced the worst restaurant service ever. She yelled at the top of her lungs for a Manager a number of times. The Manager finally appear and wasn't interested at all in what the problem was. We paid the bill that the Manager finally printed out. I have been going to Red Lobster since my 20s and have never experienced anything like what we experienced. We probably will never go back and will spread the word so others won't have to experience what we did. This was a terrible disappointment. I went to the Ocala Red Lobster for the first time in a few months, and I was impressed by the customer service! My food came out very quickly, and I had a server checking on me often. I mentioned how the biscuits are my favorite, and got another basket without me even asking! Looks like a lot of new people were hired recently and the area around the bar had a friendly vibe, with other people getting the same great service. We went this past Friday (8/1/25) during the dinner hour, and the first thing that you notice when walking in the door is the dim and depressing atmosphere, along with an odor of mold or something dank (dirty carpet maybe?). We were seated quickly. When ordering, my husband had requested one dish that we were informed they ran out of. He opted for another dish, which again, he was told they were out of that too. I ordered the snow crab legs. Mind you, I LOVE crab, but this crab had an odor to it that I can't really describe. It was not like a "bad fish" kind of smell, but bad all the same. I could only get thru a couple of the pieces and gave up. I have never not finished up my plate of crab legs ever. The booth where we were seated with torn up and in pretty rough shape. The table, and menus all were dirty and greasy feeling. We will not be going to Red Lobster again. It's pretty obvious why this Restaurant franchise is losing their customers. read more
