I recently was here with a party of 3 on a Friday night. The restaurant wasn't crowded so we were seated fast. I was able to get a $5 glass of wine before happy hour wrapped up at 6pm. The wine wasn't the best but whatever. Our server, Shay was outstanding! She did a memorable job the entire visit. She was very patient too as one of the members of my party can be a lot to handle. Met with some friends for a Friday night which they already had a table set up once I'd arrived. I ended up getting the Ultimate Feast with a side salad and crab topped mashed potatoes. The mashed potatoes taste like it was instant mashed and didn't have much flavor. I asked for my steak to be cooked medium and surely enough, it was medium and the taste was delicious with the perfect amount of seasoning. The grilled shrimp was ok, but nothing to brag about and the rice wasn't all that great either. I enjoyed my lobster tail along with the coconut shrimp that came with a pina colada sauce. As I was signing my name on the receipt, I scramble the section of the tipping since I was giving my waitress cash. What turned me off is she'd asked me why I scramble that part off. I gave you cash tip, so why are you asking me about that? I felt like she's wanted to add her on tips onto her copy of the receipt. I wasn't born yesterday for you to play this game with. Our waitress ended up seating us near the bar. I believe she was seating, working her section, and bartending. I completely get it and I won't ask for much but an okay attitude is expected in a service job. She was just not the nicest the whole time. We ordered our food. It took a while to come out. She asked if we needed any steak sauce. She got busy and forgot to bring it. When my boyfriend finally cut into his steak it wasn't really cooked. Just charred on the outside. I now understand why these are getting shut down if most experiences are like the one we just had. We came in and the restaurant was about half full and clean. We, as a family of 4, with little kids were sat,(plenty of open tables in dining room) were sat in the back booth in the BAR right by the waiter station/kitchen/cleaning supplies. Unacceptable and plan weird to sit us in the bar area with little kids. So we politely asked to be moved, to which they obliged. We were greeted and started our orders. The mozzarella sticks were cold not a cheese pull to be seen at all. The kids could barely even eat them and they love them anywhere else. Then we all ordered and there was no flavor. My grilled shrimp were barely edible due to being so dry and tasteless. My husband got the surf and turf with fried shrimp that were OK but was not even asked how he wanted his steak cooked and he said it was so hard to eat. He had a hard time finishing it. The kids got chicken fingers that tasted like they were out of a bag, which is fine. It's kids food. I guess and two orange slices as a side. the popcorn, shrimp kids meal was probably the best thing that any of us had and my daughter enjoyed it. Disappointing visit. We were excited to take our kids to try Red Lobster for their first time. I'm gonna start with the good. We tried to reserve online, but it was not working correctly so we just went in. We were seated immediately. Our server took our drink order and when she went to get the beer from the bar, she learned that some were out, as we could hear the whole issue from our table. 10 minutes later, she came to tell my husband so he could order something else. We also learned that they were out of juice and milk so my kids ordered soft drinks. Now, she comes back to order and I wanted to order the stuffed flounder, she tells me that it's out and I can just get the flounder and no stuffing, but she'll ring it in as the fried which is $4 cheaper. I say fine and we roll. It took about 30 minutes to get the food, I do think all of the staff is short so we understood. We finished our meal and waited another 20 minutes for her to grab our take home boxes. She had rung in our order but the price was not the other option like we'd discussed. I asked her about it and she made up an excuse that it was the lunch price and it wasn't good except m-f, which is incorrect because I didn't look at the lunch specials menu. So, overall I paid for the full meal, but only received part of it. We decided it wasn't worth it to argue as I corrected her once and she wasn't really paying attention, so we just paid our bill on the machine and left. Last visit I had to Red Lobster was not just bad, it was horrible. My spouse ordered a fried fish meal and I ordered crab legs. When our food was delivered and we started to eat, I found that my crab legs were cold and still partially frozen. The one section that was warm at all had no meat in the legs. I let the server know and he just suggested I get another meal. So I requested fried shrimp. My spouse had finished eating their meal and mine was still not served. We had been there about an hour at that point. I requested to speak to the manager. I was not mad, I just didn't understand what was going on. The manager was standing right behind us flirting with a couple of women. The server told him I would like to speak to him, but he just turned and walked away. I've read recently that many Red Lobster were going bankrupt and they are blaming it on the endless shrimp special. I'm sure that didn't help, but the crappy service and management with attitudes didn't help I'm sure. Darden surely should have seen this coming. Unbelievable that they would let it get to this point. BTW...On the way out of the restaurant I noticed that one of the lobsters in the tank was dead and other lobsters were eating it. Perhaps she meant well but those fingers that picked up the trash off the floor and stuff it in her pocket then handled our napkin wrapped silverware and menus. I don't know but I do know I won't be back to spend any money here. They keep this up they will go like Landry's: out of business. Serving me regular coffee instead of decaf was mean. If you like attitude and nasty, dirty servers you will be ok with this place. If you don't go somewhere else. I can't believe the non-service I received from the Manager at this Red Lobster in Trussville, AL. We came here to celebrate our uncle who we had just delivered a brand new car to as a Christmas gift. We were so excited to come here to "toast" this great occasion! We asked our server, Vanessa to bring some sparkling wine/champagne; she said they were out of it. She then offered a spritzer. My friend, asked for a Riesling. They were out of that. She then offered a Chardonnay...my friend said, I don't drink Chardonnay. We replied, no other champagne, she said no we're out. We then asked to speak with the manager. She came to our table talking loud, and placing the blame on previous managers regarding alcoholic beverages that were not available. Then she replied, I can bring you a sample of a wine. We obliged, although this our choice of a celebratory drink! She left and did not come back to the table for about 20 minutes. I got up from the table to find her and one of the staff said "are you looking for the manager?" I said yes. When she arrived to our table she brought a TRAY with 9 wines in plastic ramekin containers. We said "what is this!" This is what you use for CONDIMENTS! Really!!! That's not what we asked for! We're the customer!!! She was too substandard and unprofessional in her approach. It took a while for our food to arrive and we ended up canceling part of our order because some of the items were not ready and i lost my lappetite. Our server did the best she could to try and accommodate us. And she kept apologizing about how awful this place is. As we were leaving to catch an Uber back to our hotel, the manager comes out to ask "how was everything?" Did you like the clam chowder? Then she said...Oh I have something for you that can be used at any Red Lobster. We waited and waited and left without the "something" she went to get. This was the most horrible Red Lobster experience I've ever had! I even overhearing other customers asking for certain items on the menu that they did not have. One server told his customers...We're out of popcorn shrimp! And other customers whose checks were wrong. I am beyond Disgusted! We went back to our hotel to order food bc we were still hungry. As a leader, in a well known hospitality industry, I saw so many "red flags" of a restaurant that is underdeveloped/untrained. Allen was amazing! We visited a few weeks ago during endless shrimp, and our table was never empty! Allen made sure that biscuits were ready as soon as we ordered, and service did not disappoint the entire meal! My husband and his aunt had never been to an endless shrimp event at RL, so I was excited to show them the ropes. And this was an excellent showing! Shrimp scampi was excellent and enjoyed by all. We really liked the Mediterranean shrimp too. My husband and I liked the Nashville Shrimp, but it was too spicy for my aunt. The honey helped cool it down, in my opinion. The one thing I didn't like was that dressing was served on my salad - would have preferred for it to be on the side. After several rounds of delicious seafood, our stomach's were full, and Allen made sure we had boxes to pack up the remaining shrimp (and biscuits) to take home. On the most recent visit to this location, I have to say that I had absolutely no complaints. We were seated immediately. Drink order taken promptly and arrived quickly. Food order was taken when returned with drinks and arrived timely. What can you say about the Cheddar Bay Biscuits other than Om Nom! Nice and warm too. I shared the Admiral's Feast with my wife and a Caesar Salad. No extra dressing needed which was a pleasant surprise. Everything was fried to the appropriate crispness without being overdone. My husband ordered the admiral's feast, which he thoroughly enjoyed. I ordered the endless shrimp, which I found to be disappointing. The breading was falling off the shrimp and the honey sriracha was overwhelmingly sweet. I had asked for something not sweet for my next round of shrimp. They proceeded to provide honey sriracha shrimp once more sprinkled with Nashville hot powder. My drink remained empty for the majority of our meal. Our food comes out and they ask me to cut into my steak to see if it's done correctly. The loud "moo" when I cut into it was a good indication of the lack of cook. The middle wasn't even red - it was purple. The server seemed embarrassed and apologetic and took it away to be redone. Meanwhile we begin eating. My plate had plenty of shrimp, which was good because it took something like 20 minutes to get the steak. Oddly enough the server didn't stick around when I cut into it the second time. Maybe he knew what was coming and didn't want to be around for the fallout. The "moo" coming from this one was fainter than the other one because it was cooked a LITTLE more, but still blue. Server comes back and I show him the steak. He looks frustrated and apologizes profusely - we assured him that it wasn't his fault since he didn't cook it. I told him to just charge me for the shrimp. He apologized again and left. He brought our check and told me that his manager had comped my meal for the steak fiasco. The biscuits are always the highlight of my Red Lobster experience. There is just something about the warm, buttery goodness that makes them stand out. We both ordered the Lobster Surf and Turf which was a ton of different food. The lobster tails and chunks in butter were both tasty, but I feel like there could be more flavor.
