A group of friends and I had spent the day in Oxford visiting the colleges. After a few hours of walking around we were tired and hungry. Most of all we wanted PIMM's. We stopped at a stand on the street and asked the guy for a recommendation on a good pub to go to after we had passed a few that didn't look too promising to us. He directed us to the Red Lion.
We found the place, found a comfortable table and ordered a pitcher of PIMM's first -- it was only £8! I looked at the menu and wanted some meat and opted for the hot roast beef sandwich, only £2.99! What a steal! Our food came pretty quickly and my sandwich was pretty filling for just £3. It came with chips too! After we finished eating some of my friends and I wanted another drink; the PIMM's pitcher wasn't too big, so each of us (there were 4) only got a glass and a half. They were having a special for 99 pence Apple Smirnoff + Lemonade! It was a really good, but cheap drink! We all left satisfied. Decently priced drinks and food. I love pub grub! read more
