All during our recent 9 day trip to the Dells, my son was eying the second floor dining room (with…read morefloor to ceiling windows) of Swagat. Between that and the fact that he, my husband, and I all adore Indian food, we knew a stop here was a must. We finally made it in and were lucky enough to be seated on the second floor and the host was kind enough to accomodate our request for a window table. It was lovely to watch the hustle and bustle of Broadway from above while enjoying our meal. Our meal was amazing. My husband and I weren't super hungry so we shared an order of their tandoori salmon, raita, and an order of their garlic naan. All of it was top notch. The salmon was savory and flavorful, the raita provided a nice refreshing balance (as did what I believe was Dahi Wala Slaw which came on the side), and the garlic naan was lightly crispy as well as garlicky. We had no complaints about any of it! Our server was kind and accommodating throughout the and the prices are reasonable. Get to it!

From my viewpoint, (serving coleslaw) the food was well prepared and received. The employees were outstanding. The presentation was welcoming and professional. On the first floor, they have a spacious banquet hall, a bar, and a pull-tab machine. I'm also pretty certain I saw people playing Beer Pong or Flip Cup cups at a couple of tables in the back of the banquet room... Downstairs they have a bowling alley, a large sports bar, a pool table, and claw machines. I also saw they offer fresh made pizza and fish fry. A little something for everyone I suppose! *I can't comment on the food or drinks because I didn't eat or drink at the celebration.*

I Yelped bourbon bars, and found Erin's Snug just down the street from our hotel. I had hoped to have corned beef and cabbage, but was told they were out. Ugh. So I settled for a Reuben. (I looked at him quizzically when he told me they could still make this, but he said the corned beef was prepared a different way. It was kind of shredded.) This wasn't optimal for my low-carb diet, but I pulled off most of the bread and went with it. It was okay, but not great. Kind of disappointing. My Maker's Mark Manhattan, on the other hand, was quite tasty. My husband had the stew, and said it was very good. It came with a large piece of bread on top, maybe soda bread, and was served in a large bowl, Other than the bartender making a joke about how they wouldn't put the Bears game on because this was Packers country (as it turns out, he's from Buffalo), and being oddly out of corned beef and cabbage, the evening was nice.
