I had a prenatal massage with Luz, and it was better than I expected. I had a maternity massage once before and it was awful, so this was a relief. The room was prepared for both a side-lying and face-down positions so that I could try out both for preference, and had a tea kettle, various teas, and some palmier fan cookies to enjoy before the start of the massage. The room and facility was clean, and the massage was exactly what I needed. I have herniated and bulging dics, on top of sciatic nerve pain and Luz provided the right amount of pressure while focusing on the problem areas. However...there is a tutoring business upstairs from the spa. I came on a Saturday morning and heard footsteps of children racing back and forth across the ceiling in the massage room! This was the only drawback of the experience. Afterwards, Luz informed me that the kids are there only once a week (I guess only Saturdays?). While it was annoying and took away from the relaxation experience, the massage itself was still great. I will likely return for services, but I'd recommend you book for a time outside of when kids are upstairs.

I booked a scalp massage for today, Friday. I was welcomed immediately upon arrival and shown to my…read moretreatment room in less than a minute. I was under the impression that they would perform a scalp analysis (before and after) to show the condition of the skin, but that didn't happen. I'm not sure if it's just this specific location or if they simply skipped it for my session. They didn't ask me any preliminary questions either; they just told me to wrap myself in a towel and lie down. The initial massage felt nice, but once the shampooing started, I was disappointed. The technician focused heavily on the ends of my hair rather than my scalp, which felt counterintuitive for a "scalp massage." But after They used three different shampoos, and a quick scalp massage for each shampoo, followed by a "sprinkler" rinse and a combing session. I could feel her pulling at my hair, only to realize she had created several knots while washing it. To top it off, the "arm and back massage" lasted maybe 30 seconds each. I kid you not--it was incredibly brief. The blow-dry was the final straw. She was blowing my hair all over the place without any technique. Eventually, I just told her I'd finish it myself because it was becoming so frizzy. When I checked my scalp, it looked incredibly parched. I asked for some oil, and the receptionist said, "Wow, you have so much hair! Yes, it's dry. That happens after cleaning. It's good!" She then gave me a single drop of oil. I left immediately. Will I return? Honestly, no. I don't think the service was worth it, especially with how dry my skin felt. I had to come home, apply my own scalp treatment, and restyle my hair myself.

And apparently, prices are going up another $10 soon. OK then. Uh now, instead of giving me a small bottle of water, they offer half a tiny paper cup--the kind you usually see in a bathroom. It's also concerning not knowing where the water is coming from or how clean those little cups actually are. Didn't like that! Hmm

Don't let the strip mall exterior fool you. I've been to high end spas, which were nice, but this is truly foot heaven. The room is dimly lit, with the sounds of serene, zen like music and a burbling fountain. When you arrive, you are guided to a comfortable leather chair. The foot rub starts with a warm foot bath while you are treated to a neck, head, shoulder and arm massage. I had no idea that my hands needed soothing until they too were included in a gentle treatment. The masseuse I had was fantastic. When the foot massage began, he reclined my chair and treated my feet with such care and respect. This put me at ease and allowed me to relax. In fact, I probably dozed off a bit, it was so relaxing. You will also get a calf massage as part of the foot rub. Be sure to get the hot stone massage at the end. Just when I was thinking how perfect this all was, but noticed a tiny ache in my back which wasn't part of the foot rub package, my masseuse guided me to a chair and soothed away this ache without my even speaking a word. Just perfect, and the price can't be beat. I left feeling like a million dollars and can't wait to return. If you go, please respect the quiet room, as your fellow customers have very likely drifted off to foot heaven and you wouldn't want to bring them back to earth, would you? Enjoy this sliver of paradise on earth.
