I saw a similar named cart in a parking lot on Western and Logan Blvd but I'm not sure they're related. It's a no frills taco gem. It's easy to order since they only have one type of tacos. The name translates to head tacos but these didn't taste like any head tacos I've had. They tasted more like barbacoa and weren't gamey at all. Ordering the tacos with everything included cilantro and onion, lime wedge and your choice of mild or hot salsa. Salt and pepper shaker if you need it. Don't expect seating so stand and make new friends, plant yourself on the curb or have them pack your plate to go(wrap it in foil.) No frills, no fuss, just some good tacos. $2/taco and drinks are available.

I swore they were a German place but their food is more Mediterranean. I ordered the Doner Guys Bowl over rice which was chicken over rice with tzatziki, spicy harissa, lettuce, cabbage, cucumber, a wild pickle, and onions. It was a solid bowl. Delicious flavors and very filling. The chicken was spiced so good. I would've wanted more tzatziki but it was overall solid. I also ordered a pretzel which I guess is the German part? It was still fairly warm by the time it got to me which was awesome - warm pretzels cool quick by nature of the food so I was pleasantly surprised when I didn't have to warm it up. Delivery though GrubHub was super fast. They said an hour but it was more like 40 minutes. The one thing that prevents me from doing 5 stars is their menu isn't really that balanced - they don't really have many starters that complement their menu. And the hummus starter is $10! A single pretzel for $6 isn't ideal but it was tasty. I just wish they had a more rounded out menu.

The food was ok, or so-so...which is bad considering their history. The lechón was mediocre, no seasoning (before you could see it on there.) now it looks like chicken or turkey. The alcapurrias were super greasy, hollow (?) and flavorless. Alcapurrias should be more substantial, not super soft like these. The rice was ok, but again it had no authentic flavor. The pastelillos (ground beef empanadas) were thin and dry. They may have been from yesterday. The passion fruit juice (parcha) is still delicious and the only good thing I had, besides Coco Rico soda. They must have new owners trying to mimic old recipes because this was our second chance attempt. We will now go to La Bomba, Jibaritos y Más or Las Palmas when they open.

She's Mexican but told me about this place. She said there are several food trucks stationed in Humboldt Park, yet this one is her favorite. I believe I had Puerto Rican food before when I was out and about in the city, though I never paid attention to any aromatic mobile vehicle in this neighborhood. Umm...Rosa J., did I not tell you to stay vigilant? Fortunately I had some cash on hand. I scrambled $7 for an order of bistec mixta, which came with arroz. Wow, the rice was SO fresh, and the steak was easy to chew and flavorful. When the young lady was preparing for my food, I was staring at a copious amount of "frituras." They smelled heavenly and were definitely soliciting my taste bud. Well, I gotta get back to work. Fried food doesn't mesh too well with my working stomach. Surely we will meet each other again when I have a day off. I didn't see any credit card machine inside the truck, so I have no doubt it is cash-only. I didn't really notice if their hours were posted on the exterior. I bet it depends based on weather or seasonality.

It's a shame I didn't get his name, but how can you have a bad day listening to him create lines back-to-back with such calm? There was a large cluster of individuals in line to use the kiosk because they seem too scared to talk to a human-even though there's absolutely no line to talk to the women up front. It's kind of sad realize how antisocial people have become but also, I know it's beneficial to use a kiosk for the company because they're getting really fast data results, people tend to add more of their order because they're not being watched and they're able to do it in an antisocial way. Honestly, it's actually really fascinating. This place is always busy so as normal, we waited for about 20 minutes. It's OK, it looked like they were a little bit short staffed as 95% of the population of the restaurant was waiting in line. It's usually backed up at this location as it's super busy and very popular but tonight, I can't tell if it's because they're just backed up, or if no one can hear the number because they use those funny one liners after each number which makes it harder to hear the actual number called. I think this location-as it is mostly a tourist spot-is usually very clean. Tonight, it was not. I think it might've just been that one table around us, but whoever sat there before the fries were all strewn about and the sauces were all over the table cloths and there were napkins everywhere, and it just looked kind of bad. Since it's not normally like this, I figured it just was a one off or it might've just happened.

I got some morcilla, a pastillo, an alcapurria, and a cornmeal breaded cheesy finger, the name escapes me. The morcilla tasted like it had been in the pan all day, wasn't spicy at all and had a bad after taste. The alcapurria was short on filling and short on flavor. The pastillo was filled with chicken which I had not expected and the pastry was flavorless. The only thing I liked were the cheesy breaded fingers, the name beginning with an "s". I won't be back unless I can't find these delicious breaded cheesy fingers elsewhere.

How was it? Fries- Delicious! Fresh cut fries, made right in front of you. They were great! Huge portion, too! Merkts Cheddar Sauce- Hell yeah! Give me a gallon of this, and I will chug it! Such a tasty cheese sauce. Loved dipping my fries in it. Great combo! Char Dog- This dog was delicious! Great char, great toppings. My only beef would be the bun. It definitely could have been more soft/steamed and fresh. It held up pretty well, but there were a couple bites where it broke and flaked apart. Hate when that happens. The soup was so oily I was unable to consume it. The fries arrived cold & I thought they were plastic for a moment there. The chutney cheddar sauce was more like a paste due to the temperature. The lobster roll was small (I feel like they are served slightly larger at other establishments) I could be wrong so I don't hold it against Butterclaw. I do however fault you for the dry roll. I spent $35 to have a taste of lobster delivered for dinner & I even with the decent size chunks of lobster in the roll the overall result is utter disappointment. I would not recommend anyone shell out the $16.00 ($19.07 with the boil & fries add ons) to try this sandwich. I've wasted $35. Eat at your own risk? :-(
