This is a lovely local boutique company! I visited the Short North location this spring to pick up some more dainty pieces, and i will definitely be back! They have lots of nice quality, but affordable jewelry that makes great gifts for yourself or your loved ones. The styles are classy and simple, so there is really something for everyone. I love the selection of earrings and the fact that they offer permanent jewelry. I plan to look into that more in the future! I ended up with a beautiful little moonstone necklace that I really love. Since it was over $30, I was also given a free midi ring to go with (not pictured). I'm looking forward to coming back for permanent jewelry and to stopping in next time I need a gift-- I'd say I could find something here for almost anyone who wears feminine jewelry in any age group. read more

I felt like treating myself yesterday and after walking by Red Giraffe a few times, lusting over their beautiful jewelry, I decided it was finally time to pick out a cool piece. The staff was super sweet and welcomed me as I walked in, offering to answer any questions as I looked around. As I browsed, I noticed that behind the counter they were actually making jewelry, how cool is that! I asked them about it and they said they customize jewelry and that's what they were working on at the time. I love getting that little bit of behind the scenes insight. While I was gravitating towards all the colorful necklaces, I was really looking for something simple that could go with just about anything. I found a gorgeous long silver necklace with a white triangular crystal. It sparkled as it moved and I new that was the one! While I was at the register I was offered to enroll in their rewards program - score! Haha, they definitely hooked me and I know I'll be back. Very rude person at the front desk. There was a couple of girls a head of me getting bracelets with charms so the girls told the front desk I could go ahead since I was just getting a couple of rings and a necklace... she looks at me rolls her eyes and says "whatever." I wouldn't have minded waiting. However, this is about the lack of respect from a person that's supposed to be providing customer service... I put back the rings and left. Never coming back and not recommending this place to any of my friends in the area. read more

How did I forget to write this review!? I love a good local shop with friendly staff. On an evening out in Columbus a friend and I were walking High Street in the rain and popping into shops to escape the rain do some shopping. Red Giraffe was such a great spot to check out. The woman at the calendar was SUPER friendly and fast to strike up a conversation. She was listening to what my friend and I were looking for and made some recommendations. We both made purchases. The selection at Red Giraffe is limited but strong, they seemed to have something for everyone. I'm not someone who wears a lot of jewelry, but one of the simple rings there just had my name on it. When traveling, I love finding locally made jewelry (because I love jewelry). On my way to Columbus during a recent trip, I was searching Yelp and mentioned Red Giraffe Designs to my friend who was driving and who lived in Columbus for a few years. She had an "OMG" response and said I'd love it. Well, she was right!! While the shop is not small, I started finding LOTS of pieces in here as soon as we walked in. I ended up buying two pairs of earrings (which I've rocked multiple times since), a ring, and a bracelet--but I would've bought so much more! Plus, it looks like the do customizing on the spot. I've also started following them on Instagram since, and I really enjoy their brand in general. Prices range, but you can definitely find some cute adorable things. I lost my favorite hoop earrings so I was looking for a new pair and came upon red giraffe designs online. I also had a friend recommend it to me. I was super excited to go in. It was maybe around 20 minutes after they opened. The front desk lady looked at me and then looked down. I was the first one to say hello and she just kept looking down and responded quietly with "hello". I asked what hoop earrings she would recommend while I gave her the style I was looking for. She gestured and said "just look over there". I still got the earrings because I needed them(she didn't talk to me at check out) but I was disappointed in the connection she could have created as well as the fact that I could've bought more jewelry. I know she could have just had a rough morning, but I hope this can be a reminder for their business. Red Giraffe has become one of my absolute favorite shops in the Short North. It's rare to find such beautiful handmade jewelry at such an affordable price point. All of the pieces at Red Giraffe are designed and created in-house, which is so cool! I love that you can actually watch the employees make the jewelry while you are browsing in the store. I've purchased multiple sets of earrings here and I've gotten tons of compliments on them. I love telling people that I purchased them locally. Oh, and when I say they're affordable - I really mean it! I recently purchased a gorgeous pair of earrings for just $20. I also especially like the rings they make, along with the local Ohio themed pieces. This is truly a gem in the Short North. I can't wait to pick up more unique pieces here! read more

Ohmygoodness. This is my new favorite jewelry store. TBH, being of South Asian descent, I am a little hoity-toity about my jewelry purchases. I am not really fond of things from Stella & Dot, Silpada, and the like, because for the prices, I would rather pay more and obtain some real gold jewelry. Perhaps it's the Indian grandmother in me who likes to stockpile 22 karat jewelry, but the "costume" stuff usually doesn't cut it for me. But, I think I'm in love with RGD. Super cute jewelry in a charming little boutique. I used to seek RGD out at craft fairs around Columbus and today was delighted to stumble upon its new location in the Short North. No more craft fair scouring necessary! Jewelry ranges from simple and elegant things like ohio necklaces or acrylic rose earrings to more elaborate necklaces with things like turquoise or vintage compasses. I learned about this designer on Etsy, but was overjoyed when I came across the actual storefront on High St. in Downtown Columbus. If you're an Ohioan, there are plenty of necklaces with little Ohio charms to suit your fancy. They have adorable stud earrings, necklaces, and engrave-able bracelets. I bought a silver necklace with a large blue agate pendant on it that I absolutely love! The prices are very reasonable and the selections changes a lot. I've been eying Red Giraffe jewelry at the Local Store at Easton and other locations, but it always seemed just a little too expensive. Well, the store on North High seemed to be a little less expensive and definitely had more variety. I ended up checking three people off my Christmas list in one stop :) Ohio jewelry is not my thing, but there is plenty available for those who want it. I came in here today while visiting Columbus for work. The shop caught my eye and I just wanted to look around. The owner was very sweet and not trying to sell you on anything- love that she just let's people browse and doesn't make you feel obligated to buy something. Most of the jewelry is super affordable and stylish but admittedly made of less quality materials. I'm not a big jewelry wearer, and nine times out of ten when someone gets me jewelry as a gift, I end up having to give it away to someone else because there aren't that many pieces I feel comfortable to wear in my daily life. However, my best friend got me a pair of hexagon earrings as a bridesmaid's gift. I fell in love with them and are still wearing them 2 years later. I absolutely love how dainty and timeless Red Giraffe's designs are, and I've found myself coming back here more than once to pick up pieces. You will usually find the shopkeeper creating more pieces when you walk in the shop, and they have a surprisingly large amount on display despite the small shop size. I love that they offer most of their pieces in silver, gold and rose gold, because people are often so picky about what tone they prefer to wear. As I mentioned, Red Giraffe is perfect for the individual who prefers minimalistic design in his or her jewelry. I also have to mention that this jewelry holds up surprisingly well over time, especially considering their moderate prices. I have not had any issues with pieces tarnishing or bending, even though they are dainty, and most of their pieces are priced between $15 and $50. I ordered a bracelet unfortunately with the wrong size font. I recently had some major eye sight issues and after emailing the company explaining why i couldn't see the lettering, the service rep was awesome stating she wanted me to be happy with my purchase.
