I've been to Red Fort three times for their lunchtime buffet and had a great meal on each occasion. It is all-you-can-eat for £6 with free refills on drinks also. The waiters are friendly and are always keen for you to have a good time. The food is generally excellent with a small but tasty variety of vegetarian and meat curries along with a selection of rices and naan breads. The meat and poultry which they use is also good quality and you rarely end up with a mouthful of fatty, sinewy lamb or beef as you can elsewhere. The curries are all signed clearly and ranked in order of heat, allowing people to choose exactly what they are eating. They also serve a dinner menu which I am assured is up to the same high standard. The coke, however, has clearly been diluted with water as it tastes far weaker than normal. Also everyone could do with just a bit extra elbow room at the tables. These are just about my only complaints and Red Fort offers one of the best buffet lunches you will find in the area.

I had never really considered coming to this place until me, and a group of friends booked a table to celebrate the end of the semester before exams. A lot of them had been before, and generally the feeling was that the Red Fort was a good place for a meal and BYOB drinks. As we arrived, two things hit me: 1) This place was waaay smaller than I had expected, and while nicely decorated it really could have done with using its space better as we all were crushed into one area and couldnt really move - so we ended up eating without trying to move our arms. 2) Secondly, this place is HOT, and I have been assured that it is always hot but the air conditioning unit above the door never gets swiched on. Anyway, to the food. The menu was large, but some what basic and uninspiring - but when our meals did come I really couldnt fault it, it tasted wonderful and there was plenty of it. Price wise I wasnt too shocked, which was nice - the entire meal worked out at around £11 per head. So Red Fort does have nice food, if a bit limited in choice and insperation - but it really is too small for the large parties it caers for.

I came on a Saturday afternoon with two friends for £10.99 per person. For this price, we were able to eat to our hearts' content from all the noodles, meats, veggies. The food ranges from Chinese dishes to Western fried goods to Japanese sushi. There is even a crepe station where they make chinese savory crepes or chocolate banana crepes right in front of you! It is safe to say that I was very pleased with the selection. The only thing is that there was not much seafood items and the sushi rolls were pretty cheaply made with minimal fillings. Nonetheless, it was still satisfactory due to all the other options available. I was pleasantly surprised by the peking duck wraps as well, which is quite the treat in Chinese culture. There are a few cakes, fruits, and ice cream for dessert although I do think this could be improved. I even saw a waffle bubble wrap station, but no one was there to make them unfortunately. Overall, this is the place for your Asian cravings or when you're feeling really hungry. As someone who grew up eating Asian food all of my life, China Red does a good job with the Chinese food and more. Come here for lunch to really make it worthwhile.

The beef tripe was super yummy! Great with beer! Their braised pork belly with pickled veggies 梅茶扣肉 was done right, just like how a traditional Hakka grandma would make. The king prawns, the steamed fish, pan fried stuffed veggies, braised aubergines, & tofu 煎釀三寶 were delicious too. Beware of the spicy level though. You can ask for mild or not spicy on some dishes. The dishes we had were authentic regional dishes. Just not all from one region. A mix of north and south and the middle. I reckon their Chinese dishes would not taste like those from a neighborhood Chinese takeout shop though. Owner is Vietnamese Chinese. He said the Vietnamese pho and dishes were done how it would be made in his hometown. Gotta come back and try that. Also tried the Vietnamese beer. For what we had that night. You wouldn't be wrong, but also not the greatest of reputations. It's one of those places where everything on the menu seems to be aimed at reviving a wounded tourist. For most people the people will consist of a meat of your choice on top of a mash potatoes of your choice. All of the options looked awesome. I was just coming from an 11 hour flight, so I didn't get too crazy. I pulled trigger on a pork over bacon mash and it did not miss. The meat was exceptionally fall off the bone tender and the mash potatoes were flavorful and complimented the meat perfectly. One bit of advice - the portions are big so either come hungry or consider splitting an entree. I'd feel confident recommending this place to anyone who thinks that the Scots can't cook. Food came out of the kitchen quickly. It's all about the mash, but the meats stole the show! The lamb shank was large, meaty and complimented by the cheddar potatoes. We thoroughly enjoyed the juicy pork shank with applewood smoked cheddar mash. In addition we sampled the savory beef shoulder with horseradish mash as well as the Lions Mane mushrooms topped with rocket (arugula.) Each was satisfying and full of delicious flavors. Definitely worth the wait!

The new receipt was obviously put in the till after the fact later and wrong but because I didnt have written receipt with me we where screwed. It gets better on checking the new food & drink receipt at the table we where charged for FIVE drinks not the four we ordered, after a very long argument with the waiter we got the extra drink we never received refunded but told it will take 7-10 days for the refund. If it was not Christmas day and I was not with my wife and family I would have demanded a full refund there and then but obviously if I did that theres not Christmas Dinner on Christmas day for my family. It continued with my wife's parma violet gin coming wrong and being given something disgusting she couldn't drink, at this point we had gave up complaining because they simply didn't care. I personally didn't eat one thing because of the bad taste in my mouth from the experience and couldn't wait to leave. On leaving my wife went to order a taxi onside with my kids whilst I spoke to the owner. To my surprise all I got was an aggressive agourgant little man who sproated ruddish about how he had a million pound turn over binssnes and didnt need my money he did noticed I hadn't eaten a thing and offerd a 1 person refund that ultimately I didn't receive and he clearly just wanted rid of me and in fairness I just wanted to leave completely frustrated and annoyed with the whole situation. On leaving to get the taxi home I found my wife vomiting on the street outside which she is still doing nearly 4 hours later. My best advice would be to avoid this place and if you do go check your receipt and definitely do not book months in advance with cash. At this moment none of that helps with our Christmas ruined watching my wife vomiting time and time again, it's not even food coming up now its just foam fluid bit of freindly advice Mr Basrai's yours customers should always come first and when someone doesn't eat a thing in protest on Christmas day which you noticed theres clearly an issue and playing billy big balls with bravado is not the answer. I and all my family and associates will never step foot in your establishment ever again but I know who will! You should be very careful who you try to rip off and serve bad food to. Avoid this place like the plague, in fact the plague would better than Mr Basrai's. This is the most unprofessional, rude corrupt restaurant that serves food that can put you in hospital where it looking like my wife is heading soon if she doesn't stop being sick soon.
