I have been working with my elderly mother with some HOA issues she has come up against. Due to her age and her medical concerns, I am starting to take over some of her day to day care. I sent an email to Amanda at red door requesting financials and explaining the issues with my mother and why I was taking over my mother's account. My mother also gave them express authorization to speak with me. Apparently Amanda is extremely threatened by anyone who is strong and assertive as represented in all of the reviews I have read and her responses. She also refused to communicate with me and continues to demand to only speak with my elderly mother. When my mother let her know she would file a complaint with the Idaho attorney general, Amanda threatened her with legal fees stating we would be submitting a fraudulent complaint. Poor Amanda needs some education in addition to manners and accountability. Making a good faith complaint to the IAG is not fraudulent. It is very clear that Amanda likes to bully homeowners and when she can't bully them, she resorts to threats. I have no doubt that she will respond to this in her typical keyboard warrior way and deflect, lie, and throw her temper tantrum. Amanda is a nasty person who is clearly also a very unhappy person. How sad and pathetic that she wants to bully an elderly lady unable to defend herself. Your attitude speaks volumes as do your responses. I look forward to the day this business is taken down and truly hope I get to play a role in that as intend to reach out to anyone and everyone to file a complaint for her discrimination against the elderly. read more

Funny response 6 months later. Never received a bill! Did not move in until a year after purchase. Nothing ever received from HOA till they tried to serve me at my parents house. Western regional sales manager for work basically only home 4-6 days a month. Never an email, phone call or bill in the mail. Paid all association dues to collections company plus late fee. They are now pursuing to sue me for over 5k.. The few emails from Amanda very nasty and unprofessional again horrible HOA . Funny Amanda saying they had nothing to do with sending to attorneys but it happens that the coworker Cindi Romans at Red Door happens to be the president of our Kelley Creek HOA! Does not even live in the neighborhood. Isn't that a conflict of interest. According to State Attorney Cindi Romans is President of Kelly Creek HOA This is just the truth no bullying. Evidence of many other complaints this is a trend of Red Door being rude and unprofessional again horrible. No office just a P.O. Box . Hard to communicate with. Who is the president of Kelly Creek HOA? So professional that you made me unlawfully be on complaint call after issue was resolved. I'm writing this review as a concerned homeowner who is extremely disappointed with the lack of professionalism and accountability from Red Door HOA Management Group--specifically in regard to the cleanliness and sanitation of our community pool. I reached out via email to address ongoing concerns about the pool's maintenance, cleanliness, and overall sanitation, which directly impacts the health and well-being of residents--especially children and families who regularly use the facility. Unfortunately, rather than receiving a timely and respectful response, I was met with a rude and defiant behavior. Amanda Al-Shawaf, who I was communicating with, has since ceased all communication and has ignored my request for information regarding pool cleaning schedules, protocols, and vendor accountability. As a paying homeowner, I find this level of disregard unacceptable. Not only has Amanda been unprofessional in past interactions, she has also demonstrated a rude and unprofessional attitude toward homeowner concerns. This is not the kind of behavior we should be tolerating from a group entrusted with managing our community's well-being. HOA fees are paid with the expectation that services will be managed properly and that residents' concerns will be treated with respect. Ignoring safety-related issues and cutting off communication is both irresponsible and unacceptable. I urge Red Door HOA Management to take these concerns seriously, improve their communication standards, and prioritize basic community maintenance. I just finished reading the reviews on Red Door Management Company and I don't know how HOA Boards can justify paying money to a management company that has absolutely no integrity or customer service skills. They have been bullies since our HOA decided to use them. They have threatened me with "YOU ARE TO NEVER CONTACT US AGAIN FOR ANY REASON. IF YOU DO I WILL HAVE OUR ATTORNEY SUE YOU." They don't have a physical address listed. Our HOA Board doesn't want to talk to us. They say we have to contact Red Door and Red Door will forward the messages to the HOA Board but if you respond to the emails that the HOA Board sends out through Red Door, Red Door immediately responds with a nasty, less than professional comment. Idaho needs to change the laws to protect homeowners from out of control HOA management Companies and HOA boards. Amanda and Cindy are both rude and should never be in a business where it is important to have good customer service skills. Our HOA should have never hired them and as soon as they found out how our neighborhood was being treated THEY SHOULD HAVE FIRED THEM but instead they have condoned, accepted and condone such behavior. read more

I miss our Brookwood HOA and find I'm constantly battling Red Door Management. I have never received, by mail or otherwise, a pool card. I have lived in Brookwood for 23 years. After a little "encounter" with a "board member" I have had nothing but trouble with them. I was at the pool gate & asked a couple entering if they could let me in. I had proof of address. These two, a man in a wheelchair and his wife, refused to let me in. I got the feeling these two were not members of Brookwood but were employees of Red Door Management. They enjoyed a nice afternoon soaking in the sun with the entire pool area to themselves. Since then RDM put a lean on my house, with a letter stating the lien would remain in effect even after balanced was paid in full. read more

I will just add my voice to the consistent 1 star reviews posted here on Yelp. This HOA is managed by an incredibly rude and aggressive person. Issues: 1. Unprofessional/Bullying: when given a poor review the manager threatens the homeowner and if the homeowner doesn't remove the review the manager then goes on to label him/her a "bully" and then responds to reviews with personal information about the homeowner. 2. Dishonest - several examples so far: owner tries to obtain fees inappropriately, writes positive Google reviews about their own company and posts them, and gets other 1-star reviews removed. 3. Unresponsive: does not answer the phone most business hours and during the drought of last summer refused to take steps to help get the water system back on. read more

Extremely unprofessional company. My husband had the *audacity* to leave them a poor review, based on his experience. As soon as that happened, I was informed that they will not do business with ME, who had nothing to do with the interaction. Any HOAs out there looking for a management company would be best served to look elsewhere. Every other poor review on this website sounds similar to my own - pay heed. All of the other responses are true. Idaho is a common law state. I attempted to call and ask how to set up an account due to the fact we had to pay our ADDITIONAL HOA fees outside of what we pay. When I asked Cindi to explain how to set up a profile she stated that she couldn't tell me where to go or how to go about it due to the house not being in my name. I understand not letting me know actual information (even though I literally have the bill in front of me) but the fact that she wouldn't even let me know how to set up a profile is ridiculous. Her excuse was what if we were to get divorced and I tried to log in. Which is the dumbest thing in the world I have ever heard. I literally control all of his credit cards, make the mortgage payments, and literally any other financial thing. If we were to get divorced I'd get half of the house either way since its community property between the both of us! She then threw it in my face that she was a paralegal for years... Oh lord no wonder you would for one of the worst HOA companies. My spouse literally will not pay anything, I do it because of his work schedule. This company is ridiculous and Cindi is an idiot. "Oh, I cant tell you how to make an account... It's against the law." I worked in the banking and credit industry, with FEDERAL LAWS. You can inform me of how to create an account. Idaho has no laws what so ever limiting that. So beware Cindi is just as bad as Amanda. read more

If you are considering buying a home that is governed by Red Door HOA, run as fast as you can and don't look back. There are too many instances for me to share, but the most recent one, is one that still has me shaking my head in disbelief. Whenever we communicated to show proof that we were doing what was required of us, or when we simply asked questions, we were met with defensiveness, deception, and all-around difficult behavior from Amanda. It's a true shame that Red Door HOA keeps someone like her as the face for their association. I hope the homeowners board can really take into account her unprofessional attitude, and replace her with someone who values honesty, kindness and overall professionalism. read more

Live in Meridian, Idaho in Silverleaf subdivision. Just got of the phone with the "manager" of the company and Really really disappointed in the level of professionality in this company. Amanda Al Shafar, when asked to talk to her manager, told me straight up that she was the owner of the entire company. This was funny because I had her profile up in a couple of different places and she is not listed as the CEO of of anything and a CMCA is not the same as a CEO. She has a boss. Got another letter a month later saying that I need to fix my lawn. No pictures, no baseline criterion, and when asked straight up about what the criterion should be, she yadda yadda'd around the answer. Clearly no written down criterion for what a lawn should look like. And definitely didn't have comparable pictures for what the lawn looked like before. Also doesn't understand time and how long it takes for grass seed to germinate (7-21 days average). When asked about basic COMMUNICATION (SOUNDS LIKE A TREND WITH THIS COMPANY) she told me that it was not her responsibility or the company's to do any follow up. That responsibility is with the Property Owner. It is also required to send the notices out by mail (I got mine a week after it was dated, robbing me of any time to fix the problems before the next imminent inspection). Not only this but this is the cryptic letter that I received in the mail. "This is your second friendly reminder regarding this issue. Please apply weed prevention to your lawn and water." The rest of the letter reminds me to read the CCR's, as I have many times, but does not explain what the actual problem areas are, what needs to be fixed, how long we have to fix it, and does not explicitly state ANYWHERE that too many weeds is 10 or more weeds, which she stated, and doesn't detail anything about the yard being edge. I would post the entire CCR doc here, but I don't know the legality of that. Lastly, when pressed about her role (as the owner of the company) and making the rules of how communication is supposed to go, she says oh it's not up to me, it's up to the HOA board. I said ok if the HOA board votes to conduct communications through email, she says it won't change because of idaho statute. We'll I looked up Idaho statute for HOA: https://www.hopb.co/idaho. Not a word about communication outside of the ADA (https://www.hopb.co/americans-with-disabilities-act-ada-hoa-rules) which I fall into BECAUSE I'M A DISABLED VETERAN. Honestly just sounds like she doesn't want to do her job. I literally said "if these documents are typed (looking at the typed document) what would be the legal ramifications of sending it in an email?" Of course she pivoted to the HOA Board and the supposed Idaho statutes. Silly. Ultimately, nothing this woman does will hold because she is unprofessional, deceptive, dismissive, uncommunicative, uncompromising, and doesn't know what she is doing. I'm a HOME OWNER, not a tenant, not a guest, a HOME OWNER as is everyone in this subdivision and if she wants to get herself fired or her company sued because of less than professional business practices, be my guest. But this company is digging themselves a nice big hole with her and it's gonna cost them, because if they want to send notices about this stuff in an effort to collect fees for whatever, you are going to have to for sure prove that in court for me and the burden of proof (which for all of your "processes" that can't be changed, you somehow don't have written down a standardize approach to assessing someone's yard condition outside of subjective viewpoints and opinion) WILL BE ON YOU! read more

My family and I moved into a house which was governed by Red Door HOA. The communication with them was extremely frustrating. Specifically, it was Amanda Al-Shawaf who we were communicating with. From the very first point of contact, she acted defensive, unprofessional, and evasive when asked any questions. She was completely uncooperative and rude when trying to resolve issues that arose due to her careless mistakes. I don't understand why she is in the customer service business. I so totally agree with the previous reviews. This company is so disrespectful and hateful to homeowners. I asked to many questions so I'm band from contacting them. My questions were like, how much money was collected by a new policy, that homeowners were unaware of, and I was told it was none of my business. After this management was hired by our BOD, the numbers on the financial sheets were changed in the middle of the year. The explanation by our BOD and property mgmt was we just moved numbers around and numbers didn't match anything. I guess this is called "creative accounting ". At one of our HOA meetings, Red Door gave us homeowners financial statements from another HOA with a substantial amount of "cash on hand". The irresponsible is unbelievable. Of course, our BOD buy into all the "BS" Red Door dishes out to homeowners. Our HOA doesn't carry the "directors & officers" liability policy that would cover legal expenses for the BOD or any other volunteer if needed. Red Door doesn't care as they have nothing to loose. I will not volunteer for anything in our subdivision without the D&O liability insurance. Our BOD runs the HOA by the seat of their pants. They don't take any homeowners ideas or suggestions kindly. Red Door Was our management company when I became a member of my HOA's board two years ago. They became increasingly more difficult to work with. The words that come to mind are defensive, unhelpful, extremely unprofessional and rude. Our board was on the verge of talking to them about our dissatisfaction when they sent us a letter telling us they were not going to renew our contract (with no reason). My advice for them would be to get out of the customer service business -- they obviously don't like people. read more
