Red Door Escape Room is located in the outdoor plaza area of the Promenade Temecula shopping center. Don't make the mistake of looking for them inside the mall. There is a three-story parking garage right around the corner from their location. Once your book your game, you can sign the waivers online in advance to save time when you arrive. True to their name, to get to the entrance of your escape room, your game master will first lead you through a tall red door with trees on it which is framed by a golden arch. It is a great way to immerse you a bit before you even get into your room. There are lockers inside to store your belongings. We did the Fair Game room which has a carnival type theme. The room has a few combo and key locks, but many of the puzzles are physical or mechanical carnival style games, which was different and cool compared to the average escape room. The room was a mix of linear and non-linear. Even with only two of us, we split up at times to work on different puzzles. This room requires more teamwork than most that we have done before. Help is requested by pushing a red button by the entry door, and hints are then given via text on a TV screen. I had read on Morty that one of the puzzles in this room gets stuck periodically, and indeed it happened to us also. However, our game master came in quickly to resolve the issue and gave us extra time to make up for the mishap. There was one other puzzle that also needed some coercing. Overall, the room was really fun, and definitely a challenge. Our game master Miguel was excellent. He was fun and enthusiastic as soon as we met him, and he was very timely with hints when we asked for help. We were so close to finishing the room when the clock was about to run out, he gave us a few extra minutes to secure victory. Thanks Miguel! Their prices are very reasonable at $39 per person, no matter how many people are in your group. Most places charge extra if you only have two people doing the room. They also have a 20% discount if you play another room the same day, or book a future date after finishing your room. They have a total of six rooms at this location with a good variety of themes. They also have other Red Door locations in California and other states. We will definitely try more rooms here when in the area.

7/15/2025 - from San Diego and we did the Confinement. Didn't escape. Last item we ran out of time. Very fun and be afraid! Wish I could take photos inside but I can't.

My wife and I booked Fair Game for 11/2, and it was a great time. Everything that I expect in an escape room. Our game master Ashley was upbeat, friendly, and helpful. We are looking forward to our next room.

Very kid friendly, which is what we were looking for! My 8-year old wanted to do an escape room for his birthday but didn't want a scary one and I wanted to make sure he was able to participate in the puzzles. This checked all our boxes and everyone had a great time!

Actually pretty impressed with this place! Ashley was awesome and the escape room we did (Confinement) was challenging ... the props and ambiance were great compared other ones we have tired. It was fun :) thank you. Will be back!!!

This is my second room I've done at this location and I had so much fun. My friend and I escaped Once Upon a Time with the great hints provided by Avery. She was our Game Master and was full of energy and very encouraging. I can't wait to go back!

Parking was easy and convenient. They recommend getting there 15 minutes before your start time to fill out the waiver, watch the safety video, and put on the safety gear. You don't want to eat into your scheduled rage time. They also have escape rooms and paint rooms in addition to the rage room. Staff was friendly and helpful. The safety gear included helmet with a visor, gloves, overalls. You can use your phone to take videos and photos, and hook up to the speaker so you can play your own music. The basic package is 20 minutes and you get to break 12 bottles And 6 ceramics. It was plenty of you go slow And break 1 at a time but you can buy extra breakables if need be. And there are tires that you can bang on if you run out of breakables. There are a plethora of weapons to use to destroy the breakables (shovels, bat, crowbar, mallets, pipe wrench, etc). We did a Groupon for 2 people and there's a special receipt with a QR code you pick up from the front of the pumpkin patch entry area I believe. Although there was a line for the mansion, it moved pretty quickly since they section people off into groups of 6-ish I believe? Also while you wait, there are multiple scare actors who keep you entertained in line. Towards the front of the line there is also a photo opportunity with the infamous, meme-tic giant skeleton and an electrical chair for you to sit in. PRO-TIP: We were the last ones to step into the "lobby" area and by default we were the closest to the stairs area to enter the mansion first, so we didn't get spoiled for any of the jump scares! The mansion itself had multiple themes (hospital, doll room, butcher room, etc) and were decked out from top to bottom with all sorts of animatronics, illusions, fog machines, lighting, holes in the wall, tight spaces etc. If you have a common phobia, I'm sure you'll encounter something that will spook you here! My partner and I don't generally scare easily, but this attraction did get a couple jumps from me and got him to scream a couple times ! Also it's recommended not to wear heels or long skirts/dresses less they get caught on something, so keep that in mind !

She didn't rush us out at all (as some escape room places do), she was extremely patient and kind, and she went over all of the clues that we didn't get to solve when our timer ended. I absolutely loved the creativity and complexity of the puzzles and the room/props were of high quality (and not old or overused like some places, lol). I have never had a bad experience at this location or the Temecula location. All rooms are challenging and the difficulty rating does match the experience. If I could change a few things it would be when you reserve a game online, that it routes you to the waiver right away. Show up a few minutes early to sign the waiver if you didn't online. The second thing would be to have the option for people to allow others to join their group.
