I hesitate to leave reviews that are not 5 stars, but my most recent experience here has left me feeling quite upset and disappointed. My furbaby has been itchy with the humid heat all summer. I typically get him groomed every 8-10 weeks, and he was overdue. While Renee does an excellent technical job with grooming, she did not inform me that our dog had an infection or signs of an infection. When I was checking him out at home after grooming, I noticed his ears were incredibly red and tender, and he had a lot of other skin issues going on. Knowing dogs pretty well, I knew this was yeast and an ear infection caused by the yeast. I think that this is something that is glaringly obvious when grooming a dog, but she did not bring it to our attention. At least one other time he was groomed, she did not follow safety instructions for lifting him (he's a small dog with a spine disorder). Ignoring medical conditions is simply unacceptable when it comes to grooming. Other groomers have brought even minor issues to my attention with our dog in the past, along with details of his behavior at the appointment and so on. While it isn't her responsibility to diagnose, I feel like it is her responsibility to say something about what she notices, and to follow what we tell her about his existing medical condition. I am still disappointed after 3 grooming visits. It's a shame considering how conveniently located she is.
Positives: Like I said above, she is skilled with the technical aspects of grooming. His fur always comes back incredibly soft in a way that other groomers have not been able to accomplish. His fur is trimmed evenly and to the requested style. She has a genuine love for dogs and their care, and her business is located at the border of Wilkinsburg/Regent Square. This makes it a good location and choice for those who live in this area. If your dog has no special needs, she is a good choice for a groomer! read more
