If you want Quality work, a Quality company and a team of incredibly hard working men RED CEDAR is your company. We have had trees cut down before BUT no company has come close to the professionalism and work of this company. We cannot say enough and have told numerous people about them since they completed work on our front and back yard last week. Clean up was also meticulous, they didn't even leave a twig behind. Amazing. So if you are looking to get tree work done don't hesitate to call these guys, they will get the job done and you will not regret choosing them. If I could give them 0 starts I would but I guess they get one star for cutting the tree down. However, no one should ever use this service to cut down trees. They took over a month to finish a job (granted we did have the storm but still) after numerous attempts to get them to finish the job while they kept giving days they were going to come and finish. They never showed, they never followed up, they don't communicate. We had to reach out to their branch manager to get them to come back to finish. On top of all this, we wanted to keep wood for firewood but they took too long and we changed our mind. They said no problem and took the extra pile of logs. Next day, we get an invoice to move the logs for $840+ and they did not mention we would be charged. It was quite literally 10 logs. Do not use this service and especially do not work with their salesman Michael. read more

I have used Red Cedar for years. Difficult to deal with. Since they were purchased by Savatree service has been worse and THE PRICES HAVE TRIPLED. They say they are arborists but they have the same staff. Just want to charge more. I will not be using them again. read more

We were very unsatisfied with Red Cedar. They were supposed to show up on a specific day (Day that was agreed upon) and they never showed up! Personnel from their office called us at 4:45 that day to tell us that they had to reschedule for a later day. When we ask what had happen, they didn't have an answer. We had been waiting for a month for them to come. This is very aggravating to say the least. I would definitely not recommend Red Cedar to anyone. You have been warned! read more

This company offered neither responsiveness, courtesy, or value. I had used them successfully in the past, & was so disappointed I will not use them again. The receptionist was rude and forgetful, and actually scolded me on the phone for the privilege of spending my money with them. The quote, which was for a simple trim of several trees, was literally 3 times more than other companies, with no reasonable explanation. Quality company and a team of incredibly hard working men from RED CEDAR removed 2 trees and cut another one back from over our driveway. We have had trees cut down before at another house, but did not have the same level of efficiency or professionalism. I have told numerous people about them because of the pricing, the service and the after-workup, that is. the clean-up was also meticulous. We had one large diseased maple with 2 leads, ( I am told that means a trunk that splits off into essentially 2 trees) , which I think they said was about 85 feet tall completely removed, another maple near our driveway was trimmed of all the overhanging branches, and a smaller dying cherry tree was removed, and the stumps ground down, all for just over 1/2 the cost of 2 other estimates! All the workers were experienced, polite, and communicative. The office was helpful in every way, and no one pressured us for the final payment in the least until the job was complete at which point I called THEM to do it. Excellent. Red Cedar just finished a HUGE job on our property. Personal & professional service was provided from our calling for an estimate through stump grinding and bucking up over 10 trees. The crew was quick and efficient and cleaned up like they were never there. (They were even kind enough to help me consolidate the logs into one place so they weren't all over the place)The office staff was pleasant and helpful. Highly recommend these guys! Met with Steve (owner) on a Friday explained the urgency of removing three tress so that we could proceed with our pool insulation, he had a team out three days later. Did I mention it was Easter weekend! The crew was efficient and neat, they were professional and kind. It was impressive to see how quickly the climbed and cut a tree that was in a tough place to knock down. It never fazed them, the job was completed in less than three hours, including logging and clean up! They were fairly priced, though slightly higher than some mom and pop tree guys WORTH every penny I payed more! I will use them again and will recommend to any and everyone we know! read more

I called to inquire about the removal of a bush. After a few days, I received a reasonable estimate for the work. I made the mistake of asking for a revised estimate which included replacing the old bush with a newer, smaller one. After that, I could not get anyone to return my calls or emails. I found someone else to perform the work, I would have preferred a straight "we're not interested in the job" to a slow fade. read more

My issue with Red Cedar is poor communication between myself and both the workers and the "salesman." They were hired to remove stumps and plant trees for privacy in the yard. One tree was planted in a spot not approved by myself and I was told there was no room for it to fit near where the other evergreens were planted. (1/2 acre? really?) I dropped by during lunch while the trees were being planted, asked if I could take a look. Steve told me, "As long as you don't complain." Poor customer service - spending $6000.00 and that's how he talked to me. I still have not received any instructions on how to care for the trees, although I researched it on the internet. Back and forth in emails and I have yet to speak with Jason in person, although we agreed to meet. I did send the $ payment as the trees were planted with the mulch as they said they would. Per the first conversation with Jason, the trees are supposed to be guaranteed for a year; I have not received anything in writing to that effect. In conclusion, very disappointing with follow up, communication and customer service. read more

Terrible experience. Needed lots of weeds and shrubs killed and removed. My husband asked that they NOT be sprayed only, but also dug out and removed in order to prevent regrowth of the weeds. The person with whom we spoke assured us that spraying would end the problem, thereby ignoring my husbands concerns. Paid thousands of dollars for that work, along with removal of some trees. Fast forward and the weeds are back in each and every spot with a vengeance. I now hired a different outfit, Country Gardeners (in case you need an EXCELLENT landscaper) who has spent the past 2 days doing exactly what my husband had initially requested. Not only did we pay Red Cedar thousands of dollars, we now must pay this new landscaper an add'l $2000 to perform the work correctly. Also did not arrive when we were told. Apparently, equipment was being used elsewhere for a few weeks so we needed to wait until they were able to continue and finish. read more

Red Cedar has a wonderful team of caring, professional and friendly employees. These guys were really tremendous when it came down to every little detail! First they showed up (confirmed before coming of course) and met us for a quick walk around the yard and free consultation. Not only did they explain what should be done with each of the trees in question, but they also educated us on why it should be done. If in some cases the trees did not need to be removed, they encouraged rehabilitation and maintaining the health of the tree. We hired them on the spot and they came and dropped 6 trees in one afternoon. I was amazed at how precisely and neatly this was done considering the size of the trees. They returned to grind our stumps and the entire job was so affordable and very reasonably priced. They even offered us a "winter discount" since it was a slow time of year for them. They also do landscaping and come to find out they landscaped my parents' home back in 1989.......it still looks great! Super Company, Highly recommended A+++++++ & Thank you! read more
