I was in the area and was looking for something fast good and gluten free because I am celiac (for 12 year now). I know it is a very hard thing to find but when I found this place they took great care of me!! They were so nice and considerate double checking if I was ok with stuff and scrubbing things down to prevent some cross contamination!! Brook was my server and my food, she did an epic job I would recommend this place to any one with celiac!!! Thank you guys so much you made my day!!! read more

Food was great service was really good as well didn't take too long and the staff was really nice and on point

Arrived at 9:48, after a long day of driving and hungry. Been here before and typically had decent service and food. Patrick was great with attitude and smile. Asked if we had a good day. Quick to order. Got our burger and tea in 10 min. Patrick again with kind words. Sat down to eat, laying it out and took a bite. Had a few sentences with my fiancée and took a sip and then another bite. The other guy with a cheesy grin said that we need to leave because they were closing in two minutes. I said I just started eating it can we just finish as you all finish. He said, no we are trying to get out of here man! I'm going to have to kick you out in two minutes! . I wrapped up the burger, and finished eating it out in the truck we had sat in for most of the day, as we watched them sing and dance as they were doing their finally closing tasks. At 10:14 I just wrapped up eating it and they were just making their way out the side door. They chatted for a minute and all three drove across the street to the 76 station and went inside. So much for customer appreciation. . read more

Good service and vibe. As a passerby, cannot recommend for the food alone. Ordered a cowboy burger and Oreo shake. Wife ordered chicken basket and root beer float. The wife's chicken basket was mediocre at best. Chicken strips and fries were something you could get out of the freezer section of your grocery store. Same with the burger, pre-frozen patty with little to no seasoning, 2 bacon pieces (maybe 1/4 of the length of a strip), 2 onion rings, and ketchup (even though the description says BBQ)... 2 stars solely for the service and patience of the person at the register. Hard pass on the food. read more

This used to be a top place for a burger. The buns were toasted. Now they are bigger, bread-y and blah. The milkshakes are still good but I'll be looking for another burger. read more

First off, we normally love Red Arrow and try to make it a staple when we pass through Cle Elum. Service has always been friendly and still is to this day. No issues there! Our issue was the quality of the hamburgers. All of our burger patties were cooked, but cooler and cold in middle. We got our food and immediately hit the road. We all noticed the issue with the food as we got onto I5... therefore turning around would have been a process. I imagine it's a cooking process of cooking the burgers, putting them in a pan by the grill and then rewarming the patties when needed. Unfortunately the burger patties did not warm up enough and it was pretty gross. Wasted $75 on food my family didn't eat. Bummer! However, everything else was good. read more

Friendly staff who explained details about our order. No waiting, we sat where we wanted, and our food was delivered within ten minutes. The burger was yummy with all the fixings; but, the fries were a bit too salty. We stopped at Red Arrow on the way home from Twin Falls, ID - it's a great stop for burgers & chili read more

"Great burgers since 1953!", Americana at its greatest! Bomb burgers, friendly service and ALWAYS delicious! Today Hubz ordered a Double Arrow burger, perfectly golden crinkle cut fries with fry sauce, I tried something new... the Famous Giant McGuire burger, 1/2#, double patty, American cheese, grilled mushrooms, onions, crisp lettuce, & homemade bbq sauce! This mouthful monster was fire !! Also ordered crispy, fresh golden onion rings & Oreo shake! Sweet gal even walked order out to us at grassy table area. Only thing I will change is skip crispy dill pickles on Famous McGuire burger...just personal preference. I do not like dill pickles and they were perfect on this burger. We stop by when we are remotely close! Thanks again Red Arrow! read more

delightful and helpful crew- and REALLY good food! Got a McGuire to share with my hubby as we drove to the Gorge for a festival, and added crispy fries- both were great (and YEP- crispy!) Bummed we couldn't stop by on the way back. Really appreciated the ability to order ahead so we could pick it up at a specific time! read more

Sorry but this place isn't worth the hype. I hate leaving subpar reviews but it has to be done. My husband and I stopped by as we were passing through because not much is open past 8pm and sadly this place didn't hit the spot. The burger was not good. I don't think I've ever half eaten a burger, like a hamburger! You can't mess that up. The meat just did not taste good. The fries were ok. The best part was my Oreo shake but I didn't realize I got a mini size and it was $5. Last thing, this place is insanely overpriced. I usually don't care about the price but I paid $20 for a fast food meal that I half ate. Lesson learned. If you want great food, I would pass. read more

Good food. Neighborly vibe. Liked the tree shaded picnic tables. Took me a beat to find it. It is just a little further than the main drag through town. read more

Food was Horrible. Milkshakes are excellent. My Wife had a fish burger which was mediocre according to her. Daughter's cheeseburger was cold, so were her French fries. I got the pastrami sandwich and if you like a 50-1 bread to meat ratio, you'll potentially like that one. read more

The establishment is what you expect from an old drive in! The fries are decent, the burger isn't the best but not the worst. It's still good but I was hoping for a more greasy spoon burger. Service was great! Milk shake was delicious! read more

Been in this area consistently for 5 years now and I'm just NOW getting to this place... and I woefully regret waiting so long. Made kind of a late night run for some food off the south ridge, and I've always wanted to try this place. We had our annual "guys" weekend full of riding, shooting, poker, and lil' bit o' whiskey and we wanted something to grub on.... And lemme tell ya.... The McGuire burger absolutely hit the spot! We got our food to go and take it back to some of the other fellas... and by the time I opened the wrapping, I was ready to bite into the juicy burgers laced between a French Roll. Throw in the fried mushrooms and onions, lathered in their signature BBQ and Burger sauce.... In the words from a pair of "Psych-edelics" Shawn and Gus... C'mon Son! Juicy burger, awesome crispy and perfectly salted fries, and a vanilla malt.... Just added the badassery to guys weekend in the woods! I will be back with other friends for some other menu items that caught my eye! Love the home town small business vibe with an obvious local fan base that could easily grow! Enjoy and happy hunting as you shoot that Red Arrow right through the heart!! read more

I am grateful that there is a "fast food" place in town that is affordable, and where the owners care about the character of their staff, and the quality of their food, more than making a buck or two extra! For you long time Cle Elum people, no it's not McCain's anymore, but it down have the same quality Emilia McCain required. It is still the fun "drive in" style place Cle Elum has loved for all these years. Whether you sit inside or out under the tress you will have a great experience and the fun music they play brings good memories too! It's always nice for us to stop and get a wee bite when we are in a hurry to get on the road!! read more

All I gotta say is bring back McKean's. I lowkey loved the rustic old school decor this spot used to have, now it looks like 1980's McDonald's inside. Very cold and y in Completely abandoned the local vibe concept that makes cle town so special. Food is okay but not even up to standard for a roadside diner. Milkshakes used to be my favorite here but even that was amiss :( Service was kind and there is ample parking. read more

False advertisement! Got the famous giant McGuire burger. No grilled mushrooms or onions. It's basically 2 frozen patties and some lettuce and pickle on a sandwich bun. Not to mention the beef patties were cooked to death. It's like chewing rubber. Can't believe it's called "famous" when in reality it's not even as good as the most basic McDonald's burger. Oh also, they offer bring the food to your car. But when it's ready, they still just yell your name out of the window. And then you'll have to run out the car to grab it. Why offer it and then just disappoint your customers? I'm sorry but never again read more

This will very much echo my earlier review. While this is a good burger, but not great and it's again because the burger itself is slightly over cooked and dry. A minute less on the grill would do it. Now, everything else about this place is fabulous. The kids behind the counter are fast and courteous. Orders taken quickly & accurately and it's only a couple minutes to get our food. Great diner ambiance and it's really clean. Prices are on the high side but that's the trend everywhere these days. Skip the corporate burgers and get in here. read more

It is local. Though you can see the employee on the grill, the burger was not far from a microwaved texture, was not seared at all. The sandwich was haphazardly assembled. Almost no flavor. Odd. Fries ~ overly salty. Interesting to watch five employees crowd around the grill for one burger order. It is local. read more

If I could review this so called famous place without a star I would. We spent $60 on 3 people, the famous burger and pastrami sandwich 1 fry and 3 so called milk shakes. First it was so absolutely salty, the hard bread was so horrible pastrami meat was beyond salty as well as the fries. After having a long day outdoors wanting some food I am Extremely disappointed and still hungry. You all should be ashamed for taking money from people in this manner. read more

The burger was huge, but the patties looked and kinda tasted like the frozen ones you get from Costco. The fries were made perfectly with just the right amount of salt. The staff was friendly and offered recommendations for what to get. The inside was old and grimy. If there is a next time I'll probably just get fries and eat them outside or in my car. read more

Love their kids burger and fries. This is our go to burger place in Cle Elum (and we live here). Great service, nice staff. In the summer they have picnic tables in a shady area that is dog friendly (our cat isn't too pleased with that). Don't think about the joint on 970, the Red Arrow is better. read more

Burger meat lacks the flavor I hoped for. If In and Out comes their way it will be lights out for this place.

Red arrow burger is the best deal in town. Great family run business that is super supportive of our community.

I really enjoyed this drive in. The food was fast and consistent and incredibly satisfying. You get a lot for what you pay! We came here two days in a row. The milkshakes are very memorable, with quality ingredients and a wide selection of mix ins. Burgers are decent, and the onion rings were delicious "the onion rings aren't at all greasy" said my mom. They've got a drive-thru option and friendly staff that all seemed dedicated, happy and hardworking. read more

While my former colleague and I were out in central Washington for meetings, we visited Red Arrow Drive-In for lunch. For a classic burger and fries (or tots), it was what you'd expect from an old school drive-in in a small town. Located in Cle Elum, it was easy to find from the main street that goes into town. There's not much to Red Arrow, as it's clear that the spot has been around for years. But that's the charm of it. Nothing fancy about this place, so don't expect to be knocked off your socks. What you see is what you get, and I like that about Red Arrow. I ordered the double cheese burger with tots and it came with housemade fry sauce. The burger was solid. Melted cheese between the patties and all the classic toppings you'd expect on this burger. I enjoyed it. I also liked the housemade fry sauce, which had relish in it. Only at old school burger spots can you find fry sauce! Red Arrow was a great, casual lunch spot for a classic burger. read more

Red Arrow Drive In - Double Cheese Burgers w/ Fries and Tots - Burgers Near Me - Cle Elum, Washington

Wow! Cle Elum is a cute little town and I had high hopes for a hodunk little delicious hole in the wall. What we got was...well, I have a term for underwhelming food items, I refer to it as 'hospital food'. You know the kind - over cooked, processed, plasticky, tasteless and sometimes even the freezer burned flavor. I was excited to find a quick place off I-90 over Snoqualmie pass, and that part, we found in Red Arrow. I had the arrow burger, my son had the chicken burger. The chick burger was two super thin chicken nuggets which were the type that taste like processed paper, potato and plastic smashed together. The burger tasted like freezer burned mystery meat - hospital food! The arrow sauce was watery and was not a good flavor in the least, it wanted to be fry sauce, but failing its attempt at replicating the deliciousness, double disappointment as it was also mostly flavorless, except for the smoky barbecue flavor, which is not my thing. At all. The fried mushrooms were good, nothing special, especially because the ranch was just the run of the mill processed packet ranch. Homemade ranch goes a long way! The crinkle fries were delicious and the root beer floats were good as well, if you're stopping for a shake or just some fries, this place will serve you well. The staff was super friendly, which was great, but sadly didn't make up for the food quality being so below par. I think this is the first time I've ever only eaten a quarter of a 1/4 pound burger - it was that yuck! I'm bummed I had not amazing cell phone service through the pass because I relied on the Google reviews which were much better than the Yelp reviews here. Always trust Yelp over Google, folks! This place was a 4.6 on Google, and just over 3 stars on Yelp. The Yelp reviews got it right! read more

Always a good experience, did you a nice job of taking care of the building and the grounds, especially the grass area. Which is really appreciated as I usually have my dog with me. We stopped here after going over the pass and wanting to try a new burger place. The seating was limited inside but the service was fast and food was great. Best darn burger out there. 10/10 would recommend. Patrick and Mark make such a great team! They took such good care of us!

My hot dog was cold. I think the cook who made it was just trying to get off shift. How does one mess up a hot dog? That's how.

Craving a "real" burger for lunch and stopped at this quaint, nostalgic drive-in style restaurant. Lots of eat-in tables, drive thru ordering available. Orders are placed at the counter, with friendly, accommodating staff . Service was speedy and the food exactly as ordered. Blue cheese bacon burger was very good, as were the onion rings. Burgers were large and cooked perfectly and the sides very generous. The restaurant is decorated with nostalgic posters, signs and a large area map from "back in the day". Overall appearance was clean and well cared for. Tables and the carpeted floor were clean. Music was from the '60's and played at a very pleasing volume. The overall rating by this group of 3 "women of a certain age" was three thumbs up! I would stop here again when in the area! read more

This place is awesome - a quintessential roadside burger joint! Super easy to get to, and very convenient for drive-up orders. We often want to place an order coming into town from the north, but we don't get cell service until we hit the Hwy. 97 & 10 junction, which makes the purpose of this almost moot. This trip, I discovered the Red Arrow's online ordering service, which is very well designed. I found everything I wanted, and easily placed an order while traveling through Cashmere, estimating the time of my arrival. The order was ready for me right on time, and perfectly hot & delicious! I ordered the Giant McGuire & fries, which was WAY too much food for me! The iced tea was delicious, as well. The food quality & flavor here is top notch; very good. For dining in, you will find the booths clean & inviting. Plenty of parking here, too. read more
