DO NOT TRUST -- My Personal Experience In my personal experience, this company has been extremely difficult to deal with. The owner initially came across as a great salesperson, but the work performed did not match what was promised. After my electrician pointed out the poor workmanship and safety hazards, it was recommended that I perform a HERS test. The system failed. Red Apple then removed the system and told me I would receive a full refund, but communication stopped shortly afterward and no refund was provided. I eventually hired an attorney, and Red Apple agreed to reimburse me $25,000 in $3,000 installments, but no payments were ever made. After multiple attempts to collect and several unfulfilled promises to drop off a check, I filed a complaint with the California State Licensing Board (CSLB). They also had difficulty contacting the owner. I then filed a claim against the contractor's bond. About a month later, CSLB was finally able to reach Red Apple, and the owner again agreed to reimburse the $25,000, this time in $1,500 monthly installments. As of today, I have not received any payments. This has been an incredibly frustrating and stressful experience. Based on what I went through, I encourage others to be very cautious and to make sure a HERS test is performed and passes before making final payment. read more

Had to clean out my dryer vent so I scheduled an appointment with Red Apple Air. The technician Martin came and inspected the vent on the roof as well as behind the dryer. The service was amazing and Martin was able to clean up massive amount of debris in the vent. He also mentioned that it is a fire hazard if it's clogged which I didn't know. Martin was able to answer all my questions and was very thorough with cleaning the dryer vent. I am very happy with the service and would highly recommend this company. read more

The staff at Red Apple are very pleasant. I needed a dryer duct cleaning and contacted them through yelp. Appointment was made the following week due to a supposed high number if AC repair appointments, which was fine. The following week, they had contacted me asking to reschedule the appointment for two days later due to AC repairs taking priority. I agreed even though I had arranged my schedule that day to be home during the time window the technician was supposed to arrive. Two days later on the rescheduled appointment day, they asked me to reschedule again! At this point, I was a bit frustrated and voiced some concerns with them and they were able to get a technician out that day. The technician was efficient and professional. Jose arrived on time and did a great job cleaning our dryer vent. He is very personable, conscientious and definitely takes pride in his work. He took the time to explain how he was going clean the vent. After he was done, he made sure to clean up after himself, vacuuming up any of the lint on the floor in the laundry room and on the ground outside. It was a very thorough job. I used Ref Apple air to evaluate my air conditioning and heating units. Martin came to my house on time, extremely knowledgeable, very friendly. It turns out that all the other companies that came out, gave me false information. Martin informed me my air conditioner and heater were working and did not need to be replaced at this time. Totally awesome!!! They came in and did an air conditioning vents. They saw a problem (2years young) so we couldn't get a hold of the person who did this and went with them since all has been great. We got an estimate to replace our old furnace with a heat pump from Red Apple Air and two other providers. One estimate was too high (oversell) exceeding our needs while the second estimate (cut rate) did not provide enough. Martin from Red Apple Air provided an estimate that included what we really needed and only what we needed, patiently explaining all the details. He also explained that replacing our 68 year old attic insulation and installing an attic fan would allow us to buy a smaller, less expensive heat pump and save us some money on our electricity bill. Red Apple Air also provided us with an estimate for this attic work as well. We contracted Red Apple Air to do all the work. Zeke and José removed our old, loose attic insulation and performed the new insulation, attic fan, condenser and air handler installations including all the required electrical work. They were courteous, hard-working and did a fantastic job. Martin then came back to meticulously inspect the work and after a few tweaks our new, super quiet heat pump was up and running. We were especially pleased with Red Apple Air when Martin threw in a new WiFi thermostat and an extra supply vent in our kitchen at no extra cost! The lady in the office I'm sorry I don't remember her name, was sweet had a great personality and confirmed my appt time and what I would pay for them to come check out my small issue. She was Great but then Eric Wilson showed up and you know he's awesome because his business card said Comfort Advisor. He was Amazing!!! Showed up on Time...was mad respectful of my space and handled my issue quickly and efficiently and didn't charge me like an asshole. My issue really wasn't a big deal but I was nervous of potential Fire hazards so he completely put my mind at ease. My dryer vent job was sent to several companies and Red Apple Air was the one who seemed serious about doing the work. I had a really busy week and failed to contact them and they stayed in touch. They made an appointment, kept in touch and came on time. SETH was top notch. He covered his shoes every time he walked in and was so respectful, knowledgeable and helpful. Red Apple Air (and his family) should be proud of how he's representing them. Don't get too comfortable with the initial quote because things can change once the job is in progress. My cost doubled. My Compressor Fan was acting up and found Red Apple Air on Yelp. Immediately was impressed with Faith who was quick to respond to my request for a quote. She scheduled for someone to come out the next day to take a look at it. Next day on the scheduled time I met with Hector. He came out was very polite and professional. He took a look at the issue and was very informative about what was possibly happening with our unit. He was very through and gave me options that worked for our budget. Just like Red Apple site mentioned, they do work with you to come up with a solution that financially works. He gave us 3 different quotes what it included and how it could help out our system to last longer. He wrote up 3 quotes on site.. I was able to contact their office the next day and spoke with JeeJee, to have itemized ones sent to me via email. JeeJee was very quick in sending them over. Like my conversation with Hector everything mentioned were on all 3 quotes (nothing new added or altered). We took the mid-range option, this included duct cleaning and other items besides the Fan, and they were able to send a team out the next day (mind you this is before the summer rush, so Im sure if it was the middle of summer it would not be as quick). Hector returned with his team, Martin and Zeke. All three of them were professional in covering up furniture and setting down runners for the floors. They were very respectful of our home while taking care of our issues. Hector had no problems keeping us informed as what was happening, and answering any questions we had. Once the job was done they gave us the price we were quoted. NO UPSALE or last minute add on to the quote. Our AC/Heat unit is working well beyond what it was before they came out. I would highly recommend this company if you are looking for repairs or any other issues regarding HVAC. They were highly knowledgeable, very professional and the staff over all were very pleasant to talk to. Very impressed with Red Apple Air. From the moment I called, Misty answered the phone and then Rosie took over and booked my appointment to clean my dryer duct. Both were super professional. Are their prices competitive? Absolutely. They gave me an estimate over the phone which was less than half of what most other companies were quoting. Finally, Seth came out last Friday to my townhome--on time--and within 20 minutes had the job done. The good news was that I had just a small handful of dryer lint. Seth couldn't have been nicer. We had a wonderful experience working with Red Apple Air. Our AC unit wasn't working and we were having a difficult time going through a warranty company. Luckily I saw the Red Apple Air truck in my complex and thought I give them a call. They were very fast in responding back to and they listen to what my needs were.Since they were very busy since we were in a heat wave, Faith was so nice and helpful in trying to reassure me all my options and go me a appointment right away. I am surprised at the good review for these guys. We hired Red Apple for mini split. The installation was ugly since it had line-set and water drainage sticking out next to the unit. I was not informed that given the header at this spot, they cannot drill holes in the back. In fact, I had specified two spots and they ended up picking this spot. I have been trying to work out something since weeks now but there is no response and no show. If you want any guarantee , do not hire these guys. We are going to file complaint with any and all authorities as well as consider legal action. Faith Martinez commented on my post claiming that I have not contacted them about this. This is not true! We had Fermin the owner come out with his assistant Martin. Our AC Heater unit was shot after 30 something years. So we had our ducts cleaned out and a new silver package installed. It comes with some nice features like a air purification system which I need for a severe lung issue. It comes with a maintenance plan that was included. I am very happy with this. Peace of mind. It's so nice to have heat and my bill will be less since it's a new system. These are the nicest people I have dealt with. Their office is right down the street which is great! That way they can just buzz on over here. My neighbors also got theirs replaced. I think 4 of us chose to go for it . This is the place to call if you need a new system or repairs. We did a recent drywall project in our home. And the air quality declined as result. After researching a few local businesses I found Red Apple Air, read the reviews, and decided to give them a call to schedule an estimate for Duct Cleaning Services. I was lucky enough to speak with their marketing manager upon my first call. And she assured me that I would be in great hands with her staff and company. She was absolutely correct. The 'estimator' technician (Martin) was kind, professional, punctual, and even pointed out a couple of flaws (cheap filters, one being undersized for my second furnace) in my systems. He, Martin - also replaced a filter for me free of charge. That alone fixed the smell of excessive drywall dust. Basically, I was left with better operating systems before they began the full service cleaning. Martin went over my best options and I signed the contract same day. Less than 24 hours later, I had scheduled the full HVAC cleaning service. Today, Jose performed the full HVAC cleaning service. And my systems are extremely clean. To me, everything was worth the cost and the Red Apple Air teams deserves a grade of A++. Lastly, Faith (from the home office) is an exceptional communicator. Last night (12/6/21) we lost power to only some of our home, but including the fridge and our internet. My wife and I both work from home remotely and rely on the internet heavily everyday. Mary and Misty were super quick to reply to my late night request sent out here on Yelp and I got a call from Mary early AM this morning. She set up a service call today and sent out Fermin who quickly found the problem, a corroded wire in the service drop. He replaced this and we are now back up and running. There are even some plugs that weren't working for a few months that now are back up, so this could've been even worse than it ended up last night. Bonus is, Red Apple also does HVAC service so they will be coming out to do that next, among other services they offer. You may not be able to tell, but yes, I will be hiring them again. Updated review. Not sure what happened. Started off great with phase I master electrical panel being installed on time, but they did come in over budget (4 stars for that). After some delays from our HOA sending in the final check they lost patience in me and that's when things went off the rails for phase II AC Install. Also we had a baby in the midst of the project so that also complicated things... I ended up having to go with AIR-TRO to install the AC. Pro: They did meet my initial timeline and the master panel looks good Family owned local business Fermin was nice upfront and easy to work with when he returned texts and calls Misty and the office staff was sincere in her efforts Electrician assistants worked hard and had a better attention to detail than most Con: While we did pass inspection, the work done on the grounding wire was with minimal effort. The city inspector expressed frustration on their last visit out. We have exposed grounding wire in our garden and another attached to our gas line. City says it's safe, but not what I would have done if given the choice. See attached photo. They did have difficulty separating the bill between my job and the HOA job. There was also a $100 discount offered that was not honored on final bill. I manually updated their invoice myself when they said their software did not allow the change to separate the bills. In doing so myself, I also updated to reflect the correct discounted amount. I guess I overstepped and this upset them tremendously and I guess that is why they canceled phase II of my $8k AC install job. I did feel that the permit bill was high at $700+ but when requested to produce accurate permits for our records they did so promptly. There was some discrepancy on the cost of using my old sub panel vs installing a new sub panel. A detail that cost me an extra $975 that was added to the final wrong HOA bill. I had a very hard time understanding what I paid for and they lost patience trying to explain to me. My calls for further explanation were identified as a nuisance. I'm really not an electrician so it was hard for me to figure it out exactly how items were invoiced. Misty promised to have the Edison required plaque installed tonight 4/9/19 on the panel, but as of this review/photo it's still not there. I'll bump back up the stars once it gets posted. In Summary: I admit that I'm am extremely demanding from my vendors and expect perfection. I'm not an easy customer. With that being said, I would give them a shot at bidding your job, but make sure you have everything in writing and both parties are aligned on how the project will be executed. If you are working with your HOA, make sure they send in a check without delays as this seemed to be the 2nd greatest point of tension read more

We called Red Apple Air to tune up our air conditioning unit before the hot summer. We had used them before to install our unit and ducts 6 years ago and were very happy with their honesty and great work. This time, Martin came out and did such a thorough job and noticed that our dryer vent was not even connected. It sits near our ac unit. He stated he could repair it if we agreed and also suggested safeguards to protect our unit- capacitor, compressor saver, and surge protectors for the ac and furnace. They came, they saw, they fixed. They were nice, professional, and authentic...all very refreshing from two younger individuals. Long story short for this review: we bought a flipped house. It wasn't done completely right...specifically the A/C wasn't installed properly nor maintained. We called them and someone showed up the next day with a smile and an optimistic attitude. A/C was fixed, but soon after he left, it went back to broken. After communicating with him through text and phone, he sent someone on their "off day" to do this one job. The first call is the best part of your interaction with Red Apple. They sent Eric out to review and provide a quote. He left my house and said they would get back to me with a formal quote. A week goes by and nothing. I called after a week and half or so to nudge them. I received no call back and it has been 3 weeks. If they're not interested in doing the work they should just say so or be transparent. But no communication is not a good way to build reputation. I'll move on with another vendor. read more
