I've been coming to the Recycling and Resource Center for well over 20 years now. It has been such a convenient place for me to recycle and dump household trash. Owning a truck makes it easier to haul garbage. My dog Lola loves to visit the dump because she receives a biscuit from the attendant at the check in station. Today's visit, I was recycling cardboard and there was no charge for this as a resident. read more

Pretty good place, decent prices for copper and A/C units. Only complaints is that if you go to the back of their property to drop stuff off you will most likely run over a screw like I did because they don't clean until the end of day and miss stuff sometimes. They also seem a little careless when moving the dumpers with the forklifts but nothing bad has happened yet. If you recycle copper, copper wire, or A/Cs this is a great place to do it. read more

It is so hard to recycle plastic and glass water bottles nowadays since most of the recycling centers abruptly shut down a few months ago. Who would've thought that a state that banned plastic straws would make it so difficult to recycle. Oh well. I won't get into that. I am glad that we still have this recycling center in the tri valley. I have recycled a few times here and the staff is very friendly. I only recycle a little when I come here so I try to time it when I know it won't be too busy. I will not come here on the weekends because I can already anticipate how long the lines will be. When I come here, I place my items in the appropriate bins and the staff seem grateful for that. They always smile and greet me. Wow, that never happened at the Dublin and San Ramon recycling centers. Granted, this location has so much other services ie. recycling/waste/trash. Sometimes the wait does take a while since there is only one person in the booth for all incoming and outgoing vehicles. He seems to know what he is doing and does rotate between the two ways of traffic. Overall, I'm grateful there is a recycling center; but, I don't go that often since it is a much further drive. read more

Overall 4.5 out 5 stars, a slight knock on it since the parking area can be busy with a limited amount of parking spots if you come at the wrong/busy time. Since recycle planet closed out of the blue, it's been hard to really find a recycle place that can cash you out. One of the few places around the tri-valley is this place and it's can be convenient since it's literally at the dumps. I only gone in the morning after work but usually it's just me or a handful of people, so the wait in the morning is quite short usually. I've gone in the late afternoon, just around their closing time and seen it pretty busy when I used to go with my ex. The weighing itself is the usual put in the plastic garbage cans for them to weigh mainly for the plastic and glass..the aluminum cans while you still put in the garbage can, they actually dump it into a conveyor belt/machine to weigh. After that, they total it and give you the slip to give to the person at the entrance/exit and they give you the money. Fairly painless and the place to go if you still want to recycle for some money! read more

For those of you that are heading out there for the buy back center aka recycling for cans, plastic, glass bottles, save urself a trip. Their buy back center is permanently closed. I drove by today hoping to get rid of several bags of empty cans and unfortunately had to go elsewhere. The guy at the gate was nice enough to let us know that the buy back center was permanently closed or else I would have try to come back some other time. read more

Tried to charge me $593 for a load I took to Livermore for $129. A little bit ridiculous since they only charge based off of the yardage and not the weight. Scale house attendant is not helpful at all read more

Pretty quick. When you enter the gate, tell the kiosk worker that you want to recycle and he'll direct you all the way to the back. (Note: They will also ask you where you're from. I think residents not from Pleasanton pay an extra fee.) Unload your recyclables and separate them into different bins by type. Wait your turn in line. Luckily there was only one person in front of me when I went around noon. Place your bins one at a time on the scale. The cans get thrown into the crusher and the bottles and plastics into separate dumpsters. You will be given 2 receipts. One of the receipts is for you to keep and the other will be given to the kiosk worker at the gate. The kiosk worker will then pay you out and you're good to go. read more

I brought my truck full of tree trimmings, shrubs, tree branches, and 3 rugs. Everything was about 4 yards. Instead of the traditional scale weigh in the guy comes out with a tape measure, measures the truck. After he finished measuring the truck he jumps up and look inside to see what we have. Then he does a guesstimate of how much stuff I have. So after all that, he told me it was going to be $245. Told me "looks like" 9 cubic yard but he had lowered it down to 6 cubic yards. What rubbish. So you're telling me if jumped on the debris and flatten it out, it would have cost less? How about you scale the truck and charge by weight and not guess. $245, I said no and left. I decided to drive to another transfer station and do the traditional weigh in. My green waste ended up being $63!!! At another place. Pleasanton $245 for 4 yards of green waste. Other transfer station (will not name) charged $63 What a huge difference. Guesstimate VS Scale. If they don't scale your vehicle when you arrive, leave. Don't let them do the guessing game on you. read more

They are located within Pleasanton Garbage /Transfer Station facility. It is a little shack in the corner. The name you see here on Yelp is no where to be found when you go there. And they only do basic stuff like bottles with CRV. They don't take metal or any other recyclables. And the only guy working there has no clue. He spoke little English and couldn't answer any of my questions. Why would anybody go so far out to recycle their plastic water bottles. RePlanet is way more convenient. Or most grocery stores take the plastic water bottles if you purchased water from them. read more

I have been using this place now for about 2 years and I have to say that out of all of the recycling and waste management facilities in the area, this is by far the most efficient, reasonably priced and friendliest of all. I find their pricing consistent and the best part is that they are open 7 days a week! None of the other facilities are open 7 days a week. Even though their lines can be pretty long, especially late afternoon between 2:30 and 4:00, they get people through pretty quick. They have to make sure that there is enough room inside for everyone to park to unload their waste. You can be in and out in a matter of minutes depending on the amount of waste you have to dispose. I won't go anywhere else, mainly because they are open every day. But for such an unpleasant task of handling and disposing of waste, going here is way more pleasant and far more efficient than any other place around!!! read more

I moved to Dublin awhile ago but hadn't found a recycling center yet. I was going to go to the recycling center in Dublin but they are closed on Mondays. I drove an additional 5 minutes to try this place in Pleasanton. I'm very glad I did. There were plenty of road signs that showed me I was going the right direction. The entrance was easy to find as well. There were a few people ahead of me but the man working was very fast and effective. He was extremely polite and friendly. This place is a bit out of the way, but the street signs will help you to find it. Being open 7 days a week is convenient. The station layout helps keep line jumpers in check and the operator was polite and helpful, unlike at other recycling places. I used to go to a recycle place in Dublin by Ranch ** where it is almost always a chaotic mess. Even though this place is 15 minutes farther for me, I've found my new go to recycling spot! read more

I WILL NEVER go back to this place again! please don't waste your time and money. First I show up, and the guy in the front is INCREDIBLY angry and very unhelpful. Then he charged me 28$ to drop off a stereo (not a large one.. fits on a large desk). I paid it though because I wanted it to be correctly disposed with e-waste material. So I drive in, then another rude guy attempted to help me and directed me to a pile of waste and said "dump it there". And then I asked if this will go to landfill/how much of their waste goes to landfill? (Mostly out of curiously, sorry I'm environmental?) He said "that will go to landfill.. majority does". SIR. Why am I paying $28 for something that I could've disposed in my own curbside garbage can if it's going to landfill. No wonder this world is facing problems it is.. we have people who work at jobs where they could care completely less. I have never been so upset about waste. read more
