If you've been to a recycling place where they weigh your recyclables, you park/walk up, place your items in the trash cans, they place your items on a scale, and then give you paper to cash in the office. They took over from what appears to be an old gas station. It's a recycling center so floor can be sticky. You grabbing old trash cans so wear gloves and closed toe shoes for some type of protection. Generally pretty fast. I'll make sure to go to this place whenever I need to send recyclables.

I can't say they pay top dollar, nor can I say they are low on the scale, it's not my gig "recycling metal", but getting paid for it, vs tossing it out, seems like a win win. I've had good experiences coming here and they have never been too busy. I've been to previous terrible recyclable locations where nobody was working during their posted business hours, or there would be a huge line where I would have to wait a very long time to turn in my recyclables. I've never had any of those problems coming here. This place may seem hidden, but they are located behind the Del Rancho Supermercado. You can bring your recyclables to the back of the building, and the employees working there are very friendly & efficient. They are a dependable place to drop off your recyclables in the Livermore area.

Dos Palos -this place is on Olivina ave a stones throw from McDonald s .However I knew about this as a second choice and it turned out great. Finding it very tricky and it is really tucked in and hidden in a super small gated alleyway in the McDonald a shopping center plaza which is small itself. Luckily , they do have a banner flag in the ground which says "RECYCLING HERE". If you arrive at a gated place with a keypad your in the wrong spot . I luckily arrived after 4:00 pm when they were wrapping up for the Friday and it was medium busy not bad . We got a break in the storms so it wasn't raining at all so I we were very fortunate. I had a total of six black hefty garbage bags worth of aluminum cans which equaled to 8 of their grey garbage bins when transferred . At the end received $96 cash . The lady didn't give me a receipt but show me the calculations on her calculator. She spoke Spanish her English wasn't too good. At the end you write you name twice once just print then last a signature on their clipboard and they give you cash on the spot . I'll prob stick to the other recycling spot in Livermore which has a proper office and give you a receipt and is bigger than this one with more room. I'm glad I came here so I could tell the pros and cons of each center. Both are very good. End of the day all of my cans were accepted weighed on a scale and I was given my cash for my recyclables.

They require everyone outside the vehicle to wear a hard hat and safety vest. I'd recommend going to the Pleasanton dump. If you're a Pleasanton resident it is $14. Non-residents are $35. (Per cubic yard) Vision Recycling in Livermore is also cheaper. They charge $27 for green waste dump.

Not sure when they took the actual measurement as me (160lbs) and my 250lb son were both on and off the scales both times. Anyway, here's a couple things other than that oh the total cost $143.50 1. You need approved safety gear to even enter the property, hi-viz vest and helmet. Available for $12 bucks. 2. In addition to the above fees there's an Environmental fee $19. And a fuel recovery fee of 8.60%. Why am I paying a fuel recovery fee! Nowhere on any website I could navigate to mentions the safety gear requirement, I actually already own some. Nor the extra fees imposed for the privilege of driving the material to them. They got a flashy no real information website though! Next time I'll just do what so many people do and find a road late at night and dump it in the ditch.

I had a terrible experience at CalWest Recycling. The owner was incredibly rude and unprofessional…read morefrom start to finish. Not only was he cursing at me, but he also called me a "dick," which is completely unacceptable behavior for someone running a business. To make matters worse, I was instructed to unload and move my own pallet of batteries for recycling. After I had already done the work, I was suddenly told I couldn't continue because I was wearing Birkenstocks. If that was actually a safety policy, one of the employees could have easily told me before I started unloading instead of waiting until I was finished. When I was told I had to wait in my car, I simply walked over to my vehicle, and the owner continued insulting me by calling me a "dick" as I left. Customer service and basic professionalism were completely absent. There are plenty of other recycling businesses that treat their customers with respect. I would definitely recommend taking your business elsewhere.

Man said he was going based off what was in the computer. After seeing the price difference I wanted to separate the copper to make a couple extra dollars since I had it mixed. I asked the man handling the transactions that told me a different price on the copper if he can lend me some clippers and he said he cant let me borrow them yet he had my ID and I was going to do it right in front of him. Words cant explain how frustrated I was. I ended up taking a loss at the end of the day and affected me mentally due to financial struggles.

Staff on the phone were extremely helpful and explained that being a small shop they cant pick up every request they get and that a pickup request is just that, a pickup request. There would be no guaranteed they said unless they had responded to me via Email confirming(which i hadnt received). He said that they have to schedule the pickups to fill the entire day as to make the most of employee labor and time usage. After realizing my 26" TV didnt constitue a pickup I was told I could drop it off for free OR get more items that would validate a pickup. I was able to go through my closet and find some more electronics, re-requested and had my items picked up promptly at the time they emailed me about.
