My favorite park in the SGV so far - the locals are chill and welcoming, the bowl is great, and the…read moreflow section is beautiful. The park is far more beginner-friendly than you may think at first glance, with several gentle banks and easy roll-ins to get you into the flow section, but it also rewards you with more and more possibilities the more you progress in skill. It's very easy to maintain speed for laps throughout the park once you get a feel for it, and the transition is pretty moderate/standard throughout the park. Nothing truly tricky to deal with if you're just trying to cruise around, but endless possibilities for someone truly skilled, from what I see happen here. The concrete in the shallow of the bowl is starting to develop a bit of pitting in two spots, so take note of that if you're riding smaller/harder wheels.

The seesaw horses that this spot has are unique. We've been to so many parks, so it's rare to see something new, and this spot was the first time I'd seen those. The skate park was completely empty, so this would be a kid-friendly spot to take your kid's board, skates, or scooters to for some safe learning without distractions. The bathrooms at this park were really gross, just a single room/stall for men and women, but at least they had something lol.

The street section has great flow with a huge variety of lines and the bowl has a little miniature snake run/washboard separating the deep and shallow. The city is very responsive about any issues with the skatepark - I noticed a dangerous situation from some jagged bolts left over in the ground where a DIY ramp was removed and reported it; that same afternoon the offending pointy metal bits had been shaved down and smoothed off to prevent anyone from getting hurt. Be careful of the pain they use to cover graffiti in the bowl - it can be a bit slippery. Overall, not really an issue that hurts how great of a park this is; there are plenty of parks that are more slippery even without paint on the concrete. Their tennis courts are also quite nice - four courts in total, with well-kept surfaces and nets.

What I can review with firsthand experience is the kids playground, of which there are two massive structures, one for younger kids and one for older. I've noticed that some parks east of the 605 have larger, multilevel, covered play structures with multiple paths and entries. Kudos to whoever designed and installed them. I also love the fact that the ground is rubber and not sand or wood chips. My kid loves coming here every week, maybe even more than some paid playspaces we go to. Most importantly, this is one of the only parks I've ever seen that stocks soap and paper towels in its bathrooms. A true rarity.
