I went to the Rivermarket location twice. The first time was in August. I arrived early for my appointment worth Caylie who was not there. I waited and texted after my appointment was supposed to start to let her know I was here. She called me and said she didn't know if I was coming so she "went to go get a soda" and would be back for my appointment. She was about 10 minutes late. The service was fine. I came back today two days before my wedding. I have a lot going on and I was very stressed. I tried my hardest to be on time to my appointment but was running a little late. I was trying to park and Jo started texting me. I was telling her I was coming and trying to get there. She texted me and said if I couldn't be there 10 past then she couldn't help me -- mind you, I'm taking time texting her and seeing she's writing me not knowing if she's going to cancel. I got to the door 11 past and she refused to serve me. She said she wouldn't have time to do the service and she couldn't make her next client late and could take me at one. This is a really stressful day for me trying to get everything done with family in town -- a lot going on. So, I had to wait an hour, but did. I came back early and waited. She was five minutes late to help me with my appointment and it took her 20 minutes. Which tells me, she could have given me the same service if she served me an hour prior and wouldn't have been late for the next client. It made no sense to me. She also told me she "understood" how stressed I was about getting married -- but couldn't give me one minute of leniency on their policy. I went back and could not find this listed on their intake form or on the website. Maybe I missed it but I don't see it. The product is good, but a little kindness and care goes a long way. Brides, if you're looking for some grace and care you may not find it here. A friend recommended this place to me and I'm sad this is what I have to tell her about my experience. read more

The customer service was excellent and the spray tan experience was wonderful! The salon is gorgeous and the ladies made me feel so comfortable- 5 stars for that part of the experience! However, I was very underwhelmed and disappointed with my tan. Not as dark as I was hoping, pretty splotchy, it's my day 2 and my tan already significantly faded. I exfoliated before my appointment, didn't wear deodorant, perfume, or lotion the day of. Waited beyond the recommended 8 hours for the first rinse. Very disappointed for the high price:( read more

I went to the Olathe location. I get spray tans several times a month. I asked to be "very dark" because I had a sales meeting in Hawaii. It did not even look like I got a spray tan for $75.00 when I got home! How did I know? I asked them not to spray my hands or feet because I didn't want to ruin my French mani/pedi and there was not a big difference between what was tanned and what wasn't! I even contacted the salon know about my dissatisfaction and they never contacted me about my experience. I will not go back there again. Don't waste your money here read more

I had one of the worst manicures ever here, which is so unfortunate. My cuticles weren't even touched, the color was so uneven and the shape of my nails where so inconsistent. When I addressed my displeasure, they seemed to think it'd be an easy fix, when in reality the nails needed to be soaked off and done all over again. They weren't able to fit me in for a time that worked with my schedule so they offered a 50% off my next visit, which I find to be ridiculous. I ended up going to a different salon to get my nails re-done and they were FLOORED when I told them the manicure had been 3 days ago. Due to this issue, I also ended up canceling my spray tan. read more

She did an amazing job and thoroughly explained after care so that I felt completely competent to make my tan last as long as possible. I have used booths for spray tans and another individual for an airbrush tan. The individual I went to for an airbrush was so bad I thought I would never try another because I really don't mind the booths & have gotten the hang of them (there are definitely tricks!) until a friend recommended Shonna - the owner of Recreating Rays. BY FAR THE BEST SPRAY TAN I HAVE EVER RECEIVED!!! She was extremely professional. I am not a modest person LOL but she still made feel very comfortable. I am not the tiniest thing either but Shonna & I chatted the entire time and she explained everything she was doing and was very clear with her instructions. The tan lasted several days - I followed her suggestions before and after - and we were even at the beach. The best part is the tan faded evenly - no splotches anywhere! I've had a spray tan done before, but this salon is amazing! Regan did my full body spray tan and was super considerate. I was very comfortable and she talked me through the whole process. Kristen did a great job. She was very thorough, and explained exactly what would happen before, during, and after application. There were special touches that let me know that this is not your typical spray tan; she applied lotion to my hands and feet, she offered me a warm towel soaked in rose water to hydrate my skin, she used a brush to blend in tricky areas, and a final application of body powder to help with the usual sticky feeling. Completely satisfied with my tan! I had never had an airbrush tan and had several questions before I wanted to book one for myself. I was able to text my questions and get immediate answers from the owner. I was impressed and signed up. I was given easy instructions and appointment reminders and was even able to send a text and reschedule when my baby sitter canceled. The process was easy and comfortable.
