As soon as I walked in I got a huge whoosh of their new signature "store smell"--super strong, and it took me a few minutes to adjust to it. Maybe the machine was broken? I heard it constantly running while I was there; it just kept humming. Usually they are intermittent--hum for a bit, then stop every few minutes. I was there for about 10 minutes. My nose started feeling all weird. I got to my car and my clothes reeked of the scent. Horrible. Also, don't they know that crap artificial scents are hormone disruptors? Bad for health. No one asked to be blanketed in perfume gas while shopping. What are they thinking? 30 minutes later... still stink. INFO: Many synthetic fragrances contain phthalates (e.g. DEP) and synthetic musks that act as endocrine disruptors. They can mimic, block, or interfere with hormones (estrogen, testosterone, thyroid). Lab and animal data link them to reproductive effects and earlier puberty; they also bioaccumulate.

Then I was yelled at simply for using the bathroom to try on clothing. Permission was given to me for this purpose by one volunteer. Then, another volunteer (who followed me around the store) yelled at me, stating it wasn't allowed while pounding on the bathroom door *demanding* I exit *immediately.* The volunteer who gave me permission then lied saying she did NOT give me permission to try on clothes. Good grief! Make sure your communications are clear to all volunteers so customers don't have to be on the receiving end of your wrath, anger issues, and power struggle. What a horrible and degrading experience. I was even thinking of volunteering there but, if these volunteers are representative of the values of the Assistance League, no thank you! I will also be taking my business elsewhere since being followed and yelled at was so unprofessional and disrespectful to a customer who pays money to help their charity. I wish the Assistance League well in helping out the community but perhaps better vetting of volunteers is needed so more customers don't feel shamed for simply shopping and wanting to try on clothing they may want to purchase.

One that involves a husband, wife, GF, or BF getting off work early & maybe calling in sick the next day. Most Halloween costumes say Spirit or Halloween Express somewhere on the packaging. Not these costumes. These costumes said "Forplay" on them--as in the activities that precede the activity. One costume was called "A Scaredly Lion." The woman modeling the costume did not look that afraid though--she looked more like a hungry or thirsty lion to me. A mom checked out a milkmaid costume for her daughter or herself presumably, & I'm not sure she understood the type of milk maid labor this costume implied. Salvation Army, these were not Halloween costumes or costumes suitable for kids; these were spicy night costumes--the kind that are not meant to be worn for most of the night. 5 stars for bizarre amusement in adult slumber party costume merchandise form. Nothing quite like the ideal attire for a special hoe-ccasion.

Since then, I never gave Plato's Closet another chance. Today, I happened to be down the road from another resale store and thought, "Why not? Let's see if they'll take anything this time." When I walked in, a very nice employee asked me to place my items on the counter. She checked if I had sold there before, and even though it had been years, I was still in their system. I even joked and told her, "You guys probably won't be able to take anything, but that's okay. I've been trying to sell this bag of clothes for a while, and other resale stores haven't taken any of it." She told me there were three people ahead of me and that she'd send me a text when they were finished. I spent some time looking around the store while I waited. Personally, I didn't find much for myself because I don't think they have a huge selection in the large to XXL sizes, but I stayed inside since it was pretty warm outside. When I got the text that my buy was finished, I accidentally got in the wrong line, but the employees kindly pointed me in the right direction. Then the girl who had gone through my items called me over and said, "I'm surprised you told me we wouldn't take anything because we took 27 of your items!" I was honestly shocked and so happy. I explained that I'd been trying to get rid of these clothes at different resale stores and nobody wanted them. She told me I had some really good pieces, which made me feel even better. They showed me everything they took, and I asked if I could take a quick picture since some of the items were also listed on my Depop. She was super nice and said, "Of course!" In the end, they offered me $97.50 for 27 items, and I happily accepted. I only left with three items still in my bag, which is amazing considering how full it was when I walked in. Now that I know they accept some vintage pieces, trendy items, and more inclusive sizes, I'll definitely be coming back. I didn't get the employee's name, but she was incredibly kind and made the whole experience enjoyable. Overall, this trip completely changed my opinion of Plato's Closet. My first experience wasn't great, but this visit was pleasant from start to finish.

The young Hispanic female manager, who calls herself Jennifer (not even sure that's her name), was so completely rude and unprofessional with my daughter I was stunned that a so called "manager" or any customer service employee would treat customers as horribly as she did. After discussing a few items with the manager, she had more questions about what they were offering her for a handbag, so she tried to continue the conversation. The manager told her to leave the store, that my daughter had an "attitude", told her that she was "privileged" and she refused to deal with her. My daughter was confused considering she was just trying to work out some pricing and this is how the manager treated her. My daughter asked how old she was out of curiosity and the manager said to her "how f***ing old are you? You look old b***h". The manager swore at her multiple times, and was very hostile for whatever reason, so my daughter left the store. I went in to find out what happened and she was just as rude and belligerent to me. The other 2 employees, both young teenagers, a guy and a girl, were rude, disrespectful and hostile to me as well. I was floored. I have never observed kids that you would expect to be responsible and courteous managers behave this way. Manager or otherwise, the blatant disrespect of these kids says a lot about how people are raising (or not raising) their children. These kids were downright farrell. I will try to contact the business owner to let them know how their customers are being treated, although they may or may not care. If they do, they should know how these unprofessional teenagers are treating their customers. It's so sad and I feel sorry for those kids who are learning at such a young age to be disrespectful, and horrible to people.

Shoes, kids' books, and home decor can be found in the back and there's even a sweet little treasure chest where your little ones can pick out a toy for free! Full Circle also offers promotions depending on what day you pop by, like "color of the week Wednesdays" and "frame and art Fridays." There's usually only one associate in the store, but I've had good experiences from different people the times I've gone. I love the messaging and giving back to the community! There is free coffee at the door and a table where you can anonymously write prayer requests. Just another reason to keep coming back!

She saw the Vera wang tag and took that too the back to "re price." Told me to come the next day to get it haha. Luckily my future sister in law wasn't absolutely in love with it or i probably would fought her tooth and nail. Super rude. Hopefully another bride can get it! I didn't know thrift stores can do that but apparently i had the CEO of savers helping me check out. My future sister in law is currently planning a budget wedding with a new baby on the way (2 under 2). It's unfortunate that the person donating this probably wanted someone just like her to have this. I'm not sure i understand the point of thrifting anymore!
