Upon bib pickup I learned that the rescue mission accepts donations, offers housing assistance, basic needs assistance and health services to at risk and homeless individuals and their families in Orange County. They also have onsite facilities for housing support, counseling, and educational opportunities. A great organization supporting so many in our community.

I went to this thrift in search of costumes for Halloween night. I found costumes indeed; they were…read morenot for Halloween night though. They were costumes for another kind of night. One that involves a husband, wife, GF, or BF getting off work early & maybe calling in sick the next day. Most Halloween costumes say Spirit or Halloween Express somewhere on the packaging. Not these costumes. These costumes said "Forplay" on them--as in the activities that precede the activity. One costume was called "A Scaredly Lion." The woman modeling the costume did not look that afraid though--she looked more like a hungry or thirsty lion to me. A mom checked out a milkmaid costume for her daughter or herself presumably, & I'm not sure she understood the type of milk maid labor this costume implied. Salvation Army, these were not Halloween costumes or costumes suitable for kids; these were spicy night costumes--the kind that are not meant to be worn for most of the night. 5 stars for bizarre amusement in adult slumber party costume merchandise form. Nothing quite like the ideal attire for a special hoe-ccasion.

At every HfH I've ever been to which is now 7, this and the San Jose store have the same level of I don't care type service. I asked if I could use a cart, they say yeah and pointed to them. I tried to put it in the cart and the top fell because it's awkward. They laughed at me, rather than HELP a customer. I stood up and said do you guys help people to their car? The woman, who had a nasty attitude from jump said to the man "do we still help people to their car?" (they are nowhere near closing time) and he said yes. He carried one half I carried the other. He didn't say a word. He also had laughed after she said something when I dropped the top. Not sure what's going on in her world that's she is so unhappy and needs to project it onto others while at work, and disappointed in him for following her lead, but in any case, that is never how you should treat a human or any customer. We had zero exchange prior, so not sure where her energy is coming from but not ok to emit negativity. The merchandise is nice. They have a good selection and pricing is reasonable. Small location so probably have to catch these guys early to get the hot items. Parking is limited. Not sure I'll be back, there were two other very nice women I interacted with that were super helpful. One Filipina I believe and one maybe white or latina and tall. The woman behind the register was latina short story and the gentleman was tall dark haired and also Latino. Sharing as I imagine the head manager of it's not that woman may want to know. The gentleman who helped also seemed like he was the manager so there's that. Hopefully someone in charge with some mature sense can read this and coach them to be better humans.

Now I just make sure to keep these aside from my Salvation Army donations because I think WW's cause of helping people get back on their feet and feel confidently dressed and accessorized for their interviews is so worthy. I have dropped off boxes of jewelry sets as well. They take shoes, purses, laptop bags, brief cases along with clothing! Make sure to check out their donation hours and you can just pull up and drop off. They also have drop off times on Saturdays! They recently had to deal with a devastating fire, so they could really use your help to restock. And it's all tax deductable, ask for a receipt!

They like to pick and choose who can receive access to necessary social services, which is absolutely wild. Ive experienced this first hand with Erica Hernandez, who not only has a very unwelcoming energy, but would not give me access to any resources I could reach out to seek other types of necessary assistance. All this while recovering from a c section with three small children. She also threatened to keep me from ever being able to come back because I took too long to fill out her exit form. She wanted me out of the program so badly, she contacted me more to be exited than she did to help keep my kids under a roof. I hope God has Mercy on those type of people (who go into social work jobs with extremely low and nasty vibrations). You're a civil servant, take pride in ALL of your community. Thats all folks.

Disney employees first, starting at 6:30 a.m., and then to the general public after 11 a.m. It is advertised about the ear hats and headband ears but most I found were embroidered with names. There were a few toys and merch but it's not how they're spinning it on the radio & news stations. I did snag a few name brand sunglasses. Do note that this is once year...which means it has been sitting and consolidating for quite awhile. Clothing that is new is mixed in piles of worn clothes. Regulars will have gloves on and even tongs. If you've ever been to a "buy by a pound" sale at a swap meet...it's like that. All in all a fun treasure hunt. I go once every couple years but it's not a do or die.
