Part 2 of 2: Some…read moredishes I quite liked, such as Keto Grillin' (my favourite), Macro Shred, Paleo Foody, The Sea Ghost, Vegan Pump, Italian Passion, Iron Macros, and Seaside Paleo; but the majority of the dishes were so-so and not worth ordering again, and the Globe Trottin' Keto was downright nasty (I don't know if it had gone bad, but it tasted somewhat rotten). Also, the wraps were awful -- dry and bland. I initially really liked the Daybreak wrap -- it was moist, cheesy, and flavourful, but when I ordered it again, it was dry and bland like the others. Conclusion: some of their food is pretty good (for the most part, they do steak, chicken, and potato/yam mashes well), but most of it is meh, and for $12.99 to $15.99 per meal, it is not worth ordering. And if I do find something I really like, I can't always re-order it because the menu changes every week. Despite being disappointed with the majority of the dishes, I decided to place an order last week. I ordered: my favourites Keto Grillin' and Macro Shred; Grecian Keto (chicken souvlaki with cheese and zucchini fritters, cauliflower hummus, and tzatziki), Those Thighs Oh My (paprika-seasoned chicken thighs, mashed potatoes, grilled zucchini, and red onion), T-Rex Goes Hunting (beef and broccoli stir fry over brown rice), and Sexy and You Know It (blackened chicken breast over pasta with sun-dried tomato sauce). The T-Rex Goes Hunting and Sexy and You Know It dishes were quite good (I'd re-order again), but I was disappointed with the Grecian Keto and Those Thighs Oh My. That being said, would I order from them again? Probably, from time to time. However, I will not be regularly ordering from them as there aren't always dishes I like, and when I try something new, the majority of the dishes are just so-so. Not bad, but not worth the price. Give them a try, and if you like their food, awesome! Note that they only deliver on Sundays and Mondays (you must place an order by Thursday of the previous week), and the delivery fee is a very reasonable $5 for orders under $100 (free delivery over $100).

They are complicating the receipts. I ordered five different dishes on my first order, and I'm very sad to say that none of them was good. My partner couldn't even eat two bites . Very strange flavors. Sometimes simply is better. Also, they forced you to pay a deposit for the cool bag. and when you stop the service literally you have to contact them multiple times to get the deposit back. The website is also very confusing. definitely they need some branding and some new people working in the team to give them a different perspective.

I'm somewhat on the fence about this business. Ideally I'd have ranked them 3 and a half stars, but…read moreI'm rounding up. I've been to many events catered by Lazy Gourmet and, for the most part, the meals have been quite good. Not outstandingly great, not bad, but better than average. Very good, I'd say. If I can generalize, on average their main dishes have usually been tasty, their side dishes are hit-or-miss (some are good while others, bland), and their desserts tend to be disappointing. In general, their serving size tends to be small. If you're a guy with a big appetite, you'd need at least two servings of everything. This past Thanskgiving, I ordered three classic dinner holiday meals for me and my close two friends. The price was on a par with all the restaurants that were offering holiday meals to-go - perhaps a bit lower, even. Picking up the meals was a breeze; they have a nearby warehouse where you can park for free in the alley behind where there is a door to enter to get your meal. (I picked up my meals the day before Thanksgiving and I paid to park at a meter on the street, as did other patrons. When we got to the front door, there was a posted sign to go to the rear door to pick up one's order. There I saw that there was free parking. This is all awesome, but it sure would've been good to have known this in advance! Their pick-up order info should advise customers of the free parking in the back, and that we'd have to go to the rear door. SO many of us had to carry our large orders from the back alley to our cars parked in the front by meters). Anyhow, let's talk food, right? It's all about the food! Our turkey meals were, for the most part, very good. The turkey itself was delicious: perfectly cooked and moist and we all loved it. The potatoes were great. The gravy, great. The salad, quite good but not outstanding. Their cranberry-pear sauce was a bit tart but still, quite good. I was too full for the other sides (vegetable, bread rolls) but my friends said they were okay. (Both friends definitely could have eaten more. The portions were small. For me, it was a perfect amount but for regular or big eaters, definitely skimpy portion size). What was VERY disappointing was the desserts. The menu said dessert would consist of: "Dessert Platter: lemon tarts, gingersnaps, ruby chocolate discs, chocolate cupcakes with pumpkin spice latte frosting". Sounds delectable, no? Well, when I opened the dessert box upon returning home from getting the order, I was SO shocked by what I saw: an assortment of nice but tiny, TINY desserts. How tiny, you ask? The "ruby chocolate discs" were each a red chocolate disc the size of a Toonie (perhaps a tad larger - but not by much). The "cupcakes" and lemon tarts were smaller than half an average-sized petite four. No exaggeration, they were the diameter of quarters. The gingersnaps were hardened round cookies (we all said they reminded us of Dad's cookies from the box. You know, the hard cookies you have to dip in tea to soften, lest you risk breaking your teeth). And worse, as tiny as these deserts are, we didn't even get one each of them! They just throw in an assortment so each person gets three. So there were only two "cupcakes" and two "tarts" (the tastiest of the desserts offered), and we also got three red chocolate discs (bland) and two cookies (hard like rocks). I really thought they erred in not giving us three of each item and I immediately emailed and called the place to say they forgot to package the correct desserts for my order. A lady called back right away to advise me that the order was correct, they provide an assortment of desserts and each diner gets three. (I WISH their online ordering menu was clearer about what was offered re: size of desserts and amounts offered, to eliminate confusion). All I can say is, these dessert items were SO small, and only half were tasty, I was so relieved I had a cheesecake in my freezer to serve (I had it saved for another dinner, but used it for Thanksgiving. The LG desserts I got was definitely NOT sufficient or appropriate!). So it's rather a mixed review for this caterer. Would I use them again? Yes, for sure, but now I know to ask specifics about the order, and to have extra foods on hand to augment the ordered meal.

A beautiful box with a 3 course meal came fully ready for us to roll up our sleeves. Each course had everything portioned out, instructions and everything we needed. The amazing Chef led us through each course, making sure that we were all following, and answering any questions along the way. He was charming to say the least! We set up our TV in the dining room so we felt like we were right there! Our box also came with cocktails which were outstanding. We absolutely loved our cooking class. We don't think we will be quitting our jobs anytime soon, but perhaps with a bit more practice we might get offered a job! ;P Highly recommended for birthdays, family events, or corporate! It was an absolute blast!

If you sign up at their booth at the Autoshow they also offer some swag on sign up. Since it was free delivery for the first delivery, we decided to spend all the credit at once... now maybe we ordered way too much but we ended up splitting the order with another household. I think the best value is if you stick to 1-2 recipes and order more portions of that as I see sometimes there are specials for additional portions. However, since I want to try a variety, we ordered a few different recipes. Pros: - Love the packaging and how all the things are precut, portioned and you just dump it in the pan and cook. However, I did notice I need to spend some time reading instructions but it wasn't too hard. I've tried recipes so far. - Easy to pause your account indefinitely or skip a week on your profile settings. - You can schedule for bag and container pick up so it's a bit more sustainable than the alternative meal prep delivery services. - It's cool to try some new recipes and ingredients I wouldn't usually buy. However, I don't think the recipe cards are easy to replicate yourself afterwards because the provide you the marinades, spices and sometimes things come pre-mixed. Recipe tried: - Spicy Apricot Chicken Rice Bowl Kit - it was okay, probably not something I'll return to. It also was a bit more sweet than spicy. It's just a regular stir fry with some sweeter sauce and doesn't feel as special. - Greek Chicken & Pumpkin Soup - my favourite, I love their pumpkin soup with garlic bread. I never would've bought or cooked with orzo. So I tried something new - Bean burrito - We enjoyed this dish, it was very hearty with lots of protein. Some sauces and ingredients I tried that I normally wouldn't buy on my own. We add in our pumpkin puree soup from one of their recipes into the bean burrito. - Surf and turf - The salad was really good has this lovely dressing. Though I feel like the salad comes with a small portion since it doesn't come with carbs so more salad for 2 servings would be better. Cons The website is a bit trickier to navigate and get used to at first. The way they break it down on the subtotal, it's hard to figure out the cost per portion per recipe without breaking out a calculator. The discounts are only applied to one tallied line. Sometimes there's a promo with an additional serving, but it doesn't tally under the one recipe so you can't tell how much on average each serving is for that specific recipe is after discounts. It does seem a bit pricier than just cooking but that's not exactly what I'm comparing to... the alternative if I'm lazy to cook, is we go out to eat, which is generally more expensive. After delivery, the optimal freshness is within 4 days so it makes me cook it so I don't waste it. Delivery is on Wednesdays and Sundays. For example you need to opt in by Wednesday and select your options for Sunday delivery. Usually I like to decide the day before but I suppose with logistics of packing the ingredients, I don't think they can allow for later decisions. Overall I'll consider going back again... but perhaps 1-2 recipes a week with more portions to get a better bang for the buck. It just doesn't make sense for us to cook with a little portion of rice they give us in some of the recipes. It's just easier to cook a larger serving size one time. But if you want variety and have time to cook different meals each day, this is not a bad option. PS if you need a referral, get $45 off first order: https://www.freshprep.ca/?r=0c5yfaz8_kblwru5e

Nearly two years ago, my neighbor went on vacation and forgot to pause her subscription to Fresh…read morePrep, so she emailed me, asking if I wanted to take her two meals that were being delivered that day, her gift to me. Who am I to refuse such a gift??!!! I knew nothing about meal delivery services so I had zero expectations. But, OMG was I impressed! My daughter and I cooked one of those meals together that first night and it was such a great experience for us. And the dinner was excellent. We kept saying, it was "restaurant quality". Super easy to do, with idiot-proof directions, and super fresh ingredients, all pre-measured and labelled. Quite frankly we were blown away. We cooked the second meal for dinner the following night, wondering if we just got lucky with the fabulous meal the night before. Nope, the second night's dinner was as excellent as the first, and as easy to make. We were hooked. I'm not one for indulgent spending. I am unemployed and am on a budget. But I calculated, for me, the money spent per meal at Fresh Prep is a good deal, as my dinners for 2 nights a week were arranged, I knew said meals would be healthy and well-balanced, as I'd be selecting them myself from a wide variety of options, I'd be saving a lot of time as I wouldn't have to go to a bunch of different stores to track down ingredients (some are not common. And let's be honest: who wants a lot of some esoteric spice or product that you'll never use again? I hate waste, so it appealed to me, to have just the exact right amount of ingredients needed for each recipe), and, bonus for me, this turned out to be SUCH a positive bonding experience for my adult daughter and me, choosing our weekly FP meals and cooking them together. We have been so impressed how this company minimizes waste, simply by reusing the majority of containers and ice packs. We've been so impressed with the selection of meals each week and the quality of ingredients and the straightforwardness of directions. And it's kinda become a joke, how every night we've had a FP meal, we look at each other and say "THIS one is my favorite!". lol. (I'm not kidding, they've all been excellent). Yes, the prices have increased once in the few years I've subscribed (minimally, but it does make a difference), and they've recently instituted a delivery fee ($4.99). So that stings a bit. But they have a reward program that offsets the costs a bit, and for my daughter and me, the advantages of subscribing offset the disadvantages. We stopped our subscription for a while and we really missed it. We REALLY missed it. So I re-subscribed and I haven't looked back. I have friends who've subscribed to other meal prep services and they all agree, FP is by far the best. I also must say something about their customer service: the few times I've called with an issue, they were ALL over it, immediately. That alone blew me away, too, how receptive they were and how quickly they resolved the few issues that arose. Oh, and their delivery people are the nicest, too. If only all companies operated like this one. I honestly can't think of a negative thing to say.

This is kind of a hub for cloud kitchens. You can order from any combination of the Club Kitchen…read morerestaurants and have them delivered (with one delivery fee) or pick them up together. Sometimes the restaurants come and go, but there are currently 7 kitchens here all serving different cuisines. Both delivery and pickup are available. If you're picking up, you can order through the website or use one of the in-store kiosks. I usually order online for pickup ASAP and then walk 10 minutes to the storefront, and my order is almost always ready when I arrive or shortly after. There are attendants in store who will give you your order. They are usually friendly enough. There's some seating inside - it's not super comfortable since there's no atmosphere and the space is kind of small, but it gets the job done if you just want a place to sit and eat. Their tables outside are much nicer. I'm leaving a review for informational purposes, but it's difficult to give this place an overall rating since your experience will depend heavily on the restaurants you order from. I'll give Club Kitchen as an establishment 4 stars for serving as a simple platform to order from several kitchens with the bonus of a clean physical storefront with seating. The only thing I can think of that could realistically be improved on is that the website works great on desktop but crashes my browser when I try to use it on mobile, but maybe it's just my phone.
