Real Fruit is a BBT shop specializing in smoothies and slush. They also have a range of iced and hot sweetened and unsweetened tea-based drinks, milk tea, and freshly pressed juices. They have housemade tapioca and the basic toppings available at an extra charge like coconut jelly, grass jelly, mango jelly, mango chunks, popping boba, etc. They also have - though can't confirm I saw it at this location - whey protein powder available as a topping. I made a visit today, just now! A Tuesday evening around 9:30pm. There were 4 people ahead of me - some movies at Cineplex had just ended so there was a customer rush of orders. The wait for my drink was 5 minutes long. I didn't have much interaction with the staff beyond getting served my drink. Some technical issues going on with their kiosks but I'm so happy they've opened a location in this building so I can grab a BBT after I watch a movie. Also LOVE that they replaced the old BBT spot that had suspiciously similar branding that you might mistakenly order from if you weren't paying close attention (me). Ordering is mostly via kiosks but I believe if you're paying with cash or experiencing technical difficulties, a staff member would be available to take your order. They have a rewards program so you can get discounts on your purchases. This time around I ordered a Medium Honey Green Teas with regular ice, tapioca, and regular sweetness which cost $6.99 total (there's currently a tax holiday). I've been on a quest to find a honey green tea that tastes like Arizona iced tea lol. My favourite drinks to order are the house special mango diamond slush which is mango slush with mango chunks, mango pineapple slush (a more tart version of the mango smoothie), durian slush, carrot juice, taro slush (has that satisfying artificial flavour), and the sweetened green teas. When I'm not lactose sensitive, the house special milk tea is also a great deal that always satisfies my milk tea craving. Just to mention some of the many drinks I've had: I've had the watermelon slush and its refreshing in the summer but as watermelon tends to be, the flavour tends to just feel like sugary water. I've also had the avocado smoothie, which is a rich avocado flavour. The warm honey lemon green tea (and all their warm fruity / sweet non milky teas) are great and natural but I hate the way that pieces of fruit tend to get leftover that the straw can't pick up. The matcha smoothie is also okay but it never mixes properly and so you end up drinking all the liquid but leaving the ice leftover. The strawberry banana smoothie is just ok. read more

I've been to Toronto a few times and have ventured out to Real Fruit as my 'Go-To' for some bubble tea. I usually go for the large size Diamond Slush Mango (5/5) that runs for about $5 USD. Had decent experiences during my visits to Real Fruit in both the Dundas and Scarborough locations. One of my relatives work there and the process I've observed - she cuts up the mangos, adds it to the blender, and pinch a few drops of sugar. The few drinks I have had did not taste as sugary as what was described by others. The locations are generally clean and well kept. The only thing is the staff may be a bit less experienced, but that is pretty common for these types of shops. What a revolting taste the bubble tea leaves in my mouth. Just thinking about it makes me want to roll over and die. The two workers here are totally dismissive and kept us waiting for a few minutes while they were both washing dishes. When we finally ordered, the cashier messed up my order more than once, and when he actually made our drinks he gave us ice even though we asked for no ice. The store name is so misleading! Apparently the 'real fruit' is only given to smoothies; otherwise the staff mix up different colored powders and pour pre-made tea on top. Their drinks are a sugary, diabetic mess that makes me want to gag. The only good part about this whole experience is that it was $2.99, which is cheap for bbt. Thinking about it, of course they use powders; what kind of place is willing to sell real fruit milk tea for such a low price? I love the Real Fruit in Scarborough and needed to try this downtown location as well, just one floor below Cineplex. Considering its prices and quality independently, I'd say that I have found my favourite bbt place in d/t Toronto! They have an all-day house special for black milk tea. A small with tapioca sets you back only $1.99. I found out that the house special can come in all sizes, and the price listed is for a small. A medium black milk tea would be around $3.50. Also note that other places usually only have two sizes for drinks, but they have small, medium and large here. Medium is usually what is considered large, and the large...see it for yourself! You better be thirsty! The bubbles were cooked perfectly, chewy and not overly sweet. The tea had good flavour as well, not diluted. My boyfriend enjoys their mango diamond drink which is a mango slushie with mango chunks. They are very generous with the mangoes so you won't be complaining about lack of flavour! You will see fresh fruit decorating the counter which is awesome. Powdered fruit drinks are not the way to go. They also have a stamp card, and non-house special drinks are eligible for a stamp. I tried the MANGO DIAMOND SLUSH and a small size wasn't enough. I like how they put chunks of real mango. This is not like other bubble tea places as it specializes in FRUIT JUICES/SMOOTHIES/SLUSHES. You can add either TAPIOCA, LYCHEE FRUIT JELLY, or MIXED JELLY. If you like fresh fruity drinks + tapioca or jelly, this is the place to be!!! If you like the classic milk tea bubble tea, just get it from ChaTime. I went to the one on the 2nd Floor of the movie theatre at Dundas Square. Surprisingly the service was fast. Very average bubble tea, with very average prices. The service is a little slow. I've only ever seen one person working there. There's usually somebody else buzzing around in the back that you can see through a door. I cant say enough good things about this location, great spot and accessibility even for being on the 3rd floor of this complex. often times I will definitely go out of my way to come and get this, yes its worth jumping off of transit just to get something to drink from this place. parking is available at some underground locations nearby. and this location is serviced by the Yonge subway line and the 506 Dundas streetcar. lots to see and its a perfect opportunity to grab a drink here when seeing all this neighborhood has to offer. extra tapioca please! read more

You know what, I'm conflicted. This store really isn't consistent with the quality of their bubble tea. Sometimes the tapioca is just right, and sometimes the tapioca is too soft and sticky. Sometimes they put too much syrup, and sometimes not enough. One time, they forgot to put ice in mine and I didn't have a pleasant experience with my lukewarm drink. BUT ALL IN ALL, I'll give it a 3 star for "a-ok" only because it's a $2 drink. It's probably the cheapest I'll be able to find at such a close proximity to Ryerson... So ah whatever. Their mango diamond slush is a must try!!! They use fresh mango (not frozen). My boyfriend and I have been here numerous times. I tried other drinks like regular milk tea, passion fruit slush, and papaya slush. My verdict? mango slush is by far the best. Their tapioca is too chewy (according to my boyfriend), and the grass jelly is too firm. I prefer regular bubble teas with toppings at other bbt joints like Coco or Chatime. I came here to try one thing and one thing only - the DURIAN SMOOTHIE. O-M-G it was soooo gooooood. It was as if I was eating durian, for real. It was rich and creamy and I wanted more but they ran out of durian for the day :( I would definitely recommend this place if you're a fan of durian. I've been searching for good durian or durian flavoured dessert these days and thank god I've found this place and Kekou Gelato. Mango diamond slush is the best!! It's hard to find a lot of places with real mango/ mango chunks in the slush, but this is definitely the place to go! Inconsistent service: their staff likes to ignore their own specials. Depending on who's working, they'll either ignore the entire fifty cent "extra fruit" policy, they'll say it's doable but with a different fruit, or they'll allow it. Their staff is also very ignorant; i don't know if its because of their lack of English skills, but seriously - but have some interest in your clientele, and own up to mistakes in ones' order. I'm allergic to casava, one of the ingredients in tapioca - and one time they made me my smoothie with tapioca at the bottom. i explained to them that I can't have it and asked them to remake it - but they ignored it, and just drained the tapioca. I asked them again to do it - explaining that, once again, I can't have tapioca, they promptly ignored me. One more attempt...became evident that they just didn't give a f*ck. Of course, gravity seems to work in fun ways, as somehow, someway, the smoothie I bought just happened to tip over and fell in their work station...smoothie and tapioca flying everywhere. Oops! Allergies are a bitch sometimes. All things considered...dor unique smoothies, like Durian, this is the only chain in Toronto to go, but I think Jugo Juice is probably the best smoothie place out there. read more

I'm so happy I chose to try this place because they seem to care about customer satisfaction. Also, I love their attractive display of fruits. 3.5 stars - Contrary to their description their bubble teas are powder flavouring, which are separate from their fruit smoothies (real fruit). I had to ask for a combination of mango smoothie with bubbles in it, which was .75c more (small drink = 4.50 total). On the upside, the mango smoothie itself was really good, just the sweetness of the fresh fruit and no added syrups (so it wasn't overly sweet like most bubble teas). Tapioca were fine unsweetened, their texture is a bit bouncier but still soft! Didn't try anything else on the menu, but prices looked very reasonable ($3.99 for Banh mi and they have vegetarian lemongrass tofu), $7.50 for pho. They have salad rolls as well $1.75. Will have to stop in here to try the food. read more

A milk tea at some big name place like Chatime would cost over $5, so this is great news to me! Plus, they have point cards here. The milk tea is pretty good for what you pay. Was here yesterday and saw one of the workers blowing her nose with her latex gloves on and didn't bother to remove and discard the gloves. She ran her fingers under the water for a measly second and went back on her merry way to prepare some unfortunate person's drink. All the staff should take proper training in hygiene and food safety. The girls think wearing a blue jays cap with their hair hanging all over their face will prevent their hair from getting into the food! The staff likes to wear gloves...I think they believe its hygienic but when you handle money as well and go back to making drinks - I don't think so! How about ditching those gloves and practice proper hand washing??! It's really that simple! read more

This place seemed very cute and inexpensive from looking at their menu. As I reached the cash, I ordered a small green apple green tea with tapioca. The bill came to around $6.00. I was very disappointed in the price because on the menu board it said the drink was around $4.00 + 0.50 for the tapioca. I really like this place. I feel like theres more variety than other bubble tea places bc you can get drinks with real fruit! I had the Mango diamond slush and I really enjoyed the chunks of mango! The only thing more confusing than their uniform consisting of a Blue Jays cap is the amount of grass jelly I got in my drink which I had to pay $0.50 extra for. I applaud them for using real fruits but service was slow and options were limited. Compared to other bubble tea joints where you can adjust your sugar and ice levels, you weren't given much of a choice here. I ordered a large passion fruit green tea with grass jelly..... the drink wasn't cold and I doubt they used real passion fruit in mine since there were no passion fruit seeds present. Back to annoyance of having to pay that extra 50cents for grass jelly and the server gave me one measly tablespoon of grass jelly that she dumped into my cup after my drink was made. UGH I should've taken a photo. Similar with everyone else's drink, I thought it was weird that they dumped the toppings after the drinks were made - causing unnecessary splashing and your toppings floating to the top, making it hard to drink. Even though it's called "Real Fruit" these guys add like an insane amount of sugar to the drink to compensate the amount of ice and water they use so it doesn't taste bad. I came here three times and all three times the "slush" was so watery and tasted like water when then added so much sugar already so I am not sure how that even works but I guess that's what this place is all about. Bonus Fact : They don't even wash their blenders properly, they quickly rinse it with water after making a drink they don't even use soap or even at least look carefully to check if there was any residue left behind which sometimes there were.... read more

Pretty good place if you're looking for real fruit based drinks. Bubble tea is just average, their tapioca pearl isn't the greatest. With that said, they have original milk black tea with tapioca daily special for $1.99, which is a steal especially in the area. read more

This place is amazing! I got the Mango Diamond Slush and it was the best bubble tea I have ever tried. They even used real fruit for their drink just like their store name says. I noticed that some people were complaining about their drinks not containing real fruit but milk teas are not supposed to contain real fruit... it really just depends on the drink you order.
