Which was ridiculous because she said one word to us but our friend was on a whole different side so we went with our friend. She wanted business but we told her we didn't need her and wouldn't leave us alone, and our friend had another lady helping her. They were too pricey and if they want service from me mark down the fucking prices.

I finished trying on clothes at 7:30 and was not quite sold on purchasing them yet. I went up to this lady (who i assume is the same one I overheard in the fitting rooms with an attitude to other customers) and politely asked if i could place these items on hold. To my understanding and from previous experience, I've never had issues with putting an item on hold at dillards. She very rudely replied "No we close in 10 minutes." Mind you, their online hours say they don't close until 8 and it was now 7:34. I continued to clarify that I mean until end of business day tomorrow (I worked retail for 2 years and we were able to hold for 24 hours) She then again with an attitude said no. Regardless of if they can or can't wasn't the problem, the problem lies with how this woman spoke to me. Like girl... do better... be nicer to people..... Just bc you're in a bad mood doesn't mean it's acceptable to talk to other women that way for no reason.

Burlington - A whole lot of people waiting to pay. Apparently the manager here doesn't care.

After enjoying shopping here years ago, my past three - four drop ins have solidified that I am no…read morelonger going to bother with it. First, the parking lot there is always full of trash, buggies, and people in their cars blowing pot out the windows. Thankfully, they have lit up the lot with some additional, mobile lights because at dark, it's not safe in a lot of the lot. I came in after having past success with coats (once even after they dropped the "Coat Factory" from the name), but I guess they don't even bother with coats anymore. I also used to find great baby gifts and kids items. The store has cut off about half its space so it's a lot smaller than in past years. There really is no rhyme or reason to how the clothes are put on the racks. Yes, I know patrons put things out of place, but at least have some staff there to try to keep things neat. After finding no coats and not wanting to sort through the aisles of junky clothes or fight with all the people crowding them, I headed to housewares where I found a couple of items that I had been thinking of grabbing had I seen them. The kids area had clothes and things thrown everywhere. Shoes were in wrong size areas. The store smelled musty and really needs a deep clean. While looking through the aisles, I was privy to a colorful conversation between two employees who were not happy to be in that day. A few curse bombs thrown around about what they were doing was enough for me. I don't always like being at my job either, but to be so candid across aisles dropping s bombs and f bombs in front of so many just made me move on. I contemplated putting my items down and moving on, but I joined the line of about 30 people being handled by two registers (on a busy Saturday afternoon). It took 23 minutes to move through the line. The only plus was the family behind me who had apparently never heard of personal space left after about 5 minutes. The register staff were tired but sort of friendly, they did their best. When asked for my phone number for the frequent shopper program, I just told the girl, oh I won't be coming back. It is a shame because this used to be a place I enjoyed searching for deals at and finding gifts for people, but it's just not worth the experience anymore.

Think of a low scale Perkins Rowe with more of a family feel and that's what the Town Center at…read moreCedar Lodge is in a nutshell. It's nothing short of a manufactured village / neighborhood, geared around plenty of shopping. I guarantee if you're not a woman or a child with no desires other than some milk, you might find the place a tad boring. The folks running the joint love to sell the idea that it's lifestyle shopping, which thankfully also means there is going to be a variable mix of random stores catered to different interests. The setup is remarkably easy and surprisingly peaceful, and quite clean. With respect to the shopping lineup, it's completely clear this place is meant more for the ladies than they are for the guys. There are more than twice as many stores geared toward women (Ann Taylor, J. Jill, Eros, Febe, Lane Bryant etc), than there is for men. Aside from American Eagle Outfitters, Gap, and perhaps Al's Formal Wear, the pickens get pretty slim for my fellow brethren. But fear not, since most guys don't enjoy aimless shopping (keyword: aimless), there is a decent crop of eateries situated here. Carrabba's, Bonefish Grill, Zoe's Kitchen might all passable options, though I encourage most everyone to avoid PF Chang's and Qdoba like the devil, but it beats having nothing else. If you happen to be among the targeted demographic, go crazy here. If not, there is always the Mall of Louisiana (delinquent central) or Perkins Rowe (semi-delinquent central). Just don't let that insane Baton Rouge 9% sales tax catch up to you.

This kind of shopping center is the future. Not the enclosed mall that made it big in the 1980's,…read morebut an open air shopping experience that you can actually park near the store you want to shop at instead of having to park and trek in to the mall, not remembering exactly where the store is that you want to shop at inside of the enclosed mall, trekking thru the mall to find what you are looking for, getting what you need, drag it back to your car and the whole monotony that goes along with that. You get the idea. Any way. This series of mini strip malls has got it all going on. Book store, clothing stores for men, women and children, a variety of chain restaurants, jewelry stores, a drug store, a hotel nearby, multiple entrances and a Whole Foods. The parking spots are plenty as are the sidewalks. It is well lit at night, and nice decorations at the holidays. The landscaping is well maintained and there are no major obstacles. The area seems to be a nice area, though I am not familiar enough with Baton Rouge to really know for sure, but I get the feeling that not much crime occurs in this area.
