I am traveling across state lines and my low tire pressure indicator light came on. No tire repair shops were open when the light came on so I was able to make it to Baton Rouge to bring my car here to the Auto Center. There were five cars ahead of me but they got me in within 45 min, promptly figured out what tire needed repair and sent me on my way. read more

I had to pay for a diagnostic elsewhere, only to find out they forgot to reconnect the air filter sensor. After filing a complaint, the manager called and offered a $25 gift card, which doesn't come close to covering the hassle or cost. Disappointing experience and a clear lack of accountability. read more

This has to be the worst Walmart that I have ever been to. There is trash all over the parking lot and carts everywhere. When you go inside, there are a lot of people working that just don't care. I was in there on Thursday at 7 pm, and they are stocking shelves, and they have carts in the middle of the idmsles where you can't get down the isle. When you get to the registers, they have most of the self check outs open and 1 or 2 registers with 6 or more deep. I am not an employee, so I refuse to ring up my own stuff, so I left the cart with about $100-$125 worth of groceries at the register area and left. Just more reasons to shop elsewhere. read more

Hubby and I stopped at this Walmart during a quick stop in BR to pick up affordable LSU gear. The selection of LSU t-shirts and knickknacks were great at prices more reasonable than campus. However, the parking lot was littered with buggies where someone can easily bump the buggy into your car. I know the cashier was trying to make small talk, but the questions were personal, and I did not care to tell her why I am in town and what I am doing. Like all Walmarts, it is an easy stop to pick up essentials at a reasonable price without the expectations of good service. read more

This Walmart is kind of terrible. It's small for a Supercenter and right now they only have one door open. So Walmart, the big cavernous hole that kidnaps people for way too long, just became a bigger hole. I asked for help from an associate because we couldn't get something separated and I, with a broken arm, REALLY couldn't. She acted like I was asking for the Sun and moon. I wasn't, I just wanted ONE dish drainer not ten. The other thing I found annoying is here I am with one arm and no one thought to see if I needed assistance. I'm not sure why I continue to bother dropping in to this location other than the convenience factor, and yes, I get that this is Walmart and I should not expect more... but really? I think I should expect to get more from attempting to spend my money here. I know Sunday evenings can be especially busy, but I had to try to come in to get something to fix an emergency at the house. First, I noticed there were so many buggies strewn thru the parking lot - blocking spots, etc, because of course people can't be bothered to walk the extra three spots to put them where they belong. Sort of not Walmart's fault UNTIL you enter the store and there are NO buggies to be found inside. Now, yes, I usually do grab the ones that are strewn in the parking lot, but I was dodging people aimlessly driving through the parking lot and blocking aisles while people loaded up in the most importune spots. So after the "greeter" told me there were no buggies on either side, I went outside and walked to the back of the lot and grabbed five buggies and pushed them in (you're welcome Walmart). I tried to go to Customer Service to ask if they could send some of the employees to round up carts, but the one person working back there was a bit occupied by the 20 carts in line to be assisted. I weaved my way through the crowds and the boxes and the oddly located display aisles. I had the most difficult time finding what I needed for my situation and there was no one anywhere near the department I was in to assist me. Once I finally found someone, we roamed through three aisles until I spotted what I needed. As I was looking at the items, I turned to ask a question of the employee who had already disappeared. Completely frustrated and remembering the length of the lines at the check outs, i decided not to waste my money here or any more of my time. I walked out to see the "greeter" inappropriately hitting on a couple of ladies leaving the store and, go figure, no carts in the aisle. I left empty handed and hoping I won't have more issues at home tonight. Tomorrow, I'll hit the hardware store or head down the way and try Target on for size. I'll stick to trying to get good service from the Neighborhood Walmarts (spotty at best), but College Drive Walmart - no thanks. Also, it would help if they upped their security in the parking lots. This is the third time in a row that I've been approached by someone as i was either going in or out asking for money and when i said no, i was cursed out. read more

A 24 hour business that has just about everything is essential for a college town like Baton Rouge. This place is just massive, probably among the biggest I've ever seen for any Wal-Mart. Its also very clean, things are well organized, and the folks that work here seem to be very nice, even though a good amount of them are slower than Highland Rd. traffic. The shopping carts are an absolute mess at night, as they're all over the place. Clearly they're not employing anyone to organize what looks like a wreck in the parking lot. I would not come here for any money center or customer service needs no one is ever there to help or their either rude. For instance I'd create a barcode for my one app to withdraw money (app tells you to go to customer service or money center) and they will be like "they'll be back in a hour" ;i come back , guess what they're repeating it again ... i am a walmart employee of another location so i know how the break situations work. They would literally rather send you to someone else the completing an easy task. When it comes to Walmarts, I know I'm one to lump them all together under a decent or mediocre category in that I can get my grocery needs met but don't expect much in customer service. This Walmart, however, had surprised me on several occasions. Specifically in the bakery department. Recently I was scrambling to get a cake for my coworker's birthday and didn't really have anything planned. I went to Walmart as they were loading up fresh cakes in the display. The worker was so sweet. She started asking me what I was looking for, and since it wasn't one that was already out, she asked if I had other things to shop for and then could come back. I did, and when I returned there was my cake and she even offered to decorate it on the spot. I hadn't even planned to do that so last minute, but yeah, for a birthday cake, you've got to make it personal! The best part is that I have gotten so much praise for how yummy this cake was! My coworker hasn't stopped talking about it and neither has our boss. I readily admitted it was from Walmart, and they were surprised but impressed to hear it because they just keep saying how fresh it was and the best they'd had. For such a great price too. And now I've decided to preorder a cupcake birthday cake for a teacher, and I've called twice to place my order. The first time, the girl was so sweet, in that she advised I don't add the age of the bday girl (60!) and gave me feedback on how to decorate it. The next day I called, and I'm guessing it was the manager who answered the phone because he worked so hard to connect me to the bakery person to edit my order. He actually walked over there to let them know I was on the phone since they were in the freezer and didn't know the phone was ringing. And he was good with communicating this to me over the phone, so I didn't hang up thinking he forgot about me. Honestly not what I expected based on my past Walmart experiences but a pleasant surprise. This Walmart is pretty conveniently located on college near I10 in Baton Rouge and gets plenty of business. It's a Walmart Supercenter, so you know they carry pretty much all your basic grocery and other needs. I definitely like that they tend to have a police officer out front for added security. I've often chosen to drive to this Walmart instead of my closer one for this reason, and now the excellent customer service definitely increased its rating even more. Wish I would have caught the workers' names, but since there are others I didn't mention, it's just worth knowing that they seem to care at this Walmart and do strive for customer satisfaction. read more

I went in to return a pair of drawers I wasn't impressed with. I was told I couldn't return them because they had been worn. I explained that they were supposed to be sweat free and I wore them for my friends wedding. I wore a black dress and it was in Florida so it was very hot there. If anything it made me sweat more. In the pictures i took at the wedding I was soaked all through my behind to my front region. It looked like I had peed myself. I asked for the manager and the manager told me to try to get ahold of the company that makes them to try to get a refund. She preceded to explain that no one else would buy them after I had worn them and the way they smelled now. This is your typical Wal-Mart with one important difference. They have all (and I mean ALL) of the Louisiana favorites on my grocery list that I wanted to bring back to Atlanta. Like many Louisiana expatriates, I always make a special trip to the grocery store before I leave the state. There are so many products Louisianians cook with and love that can't be found easily in other parts of the south. Usually I have to store-hop to find items but to my surprise this location had everything: French bread Mirlitons Gulf shrimp Savoie's tasso (turkey) Slap Ya Mama seasoning Roux in a jar Zatarain's dehydrated seasonings (bell peppers, green onions, etc.) Blue Runner canned beans Camellia beans Cajun Country rice Luxury long macaroni Zapp's potato chips Barq's red crème and french vanilla crème sodas Bruce's sweet potato pancake mix Game day foods étouffée mix Crazy Cubes ice (yes, the packaging makes the ice taste amazing) A cart full of these items are a guaranteed conversation starter at checkout. Between the cashier and the other customers I heard, "Don't forget to get some (item)" and "you bout to be eatin good!" This Wal-Mart could not be more conveniently located off the I-10 College Drive exit. It was super easy for me to stop in, make groceries (lol) and hop back on the highway. By getting there at 7-something in the morning I avoided the crowded aisles and long checkout lines typical of Wal-Mart. Will I be back on my next trip home? You bet! read more

I'm reading all of these bad reviews on this Walmart. I'm trying to find out what are they comparing it to. I mean it's Walmart not Target. And the low prices are worth the lack of customer service in my opinion. This Walmart is fairly new and just as clean as any other super Walmart. I'm from Houston so I don't know if it's a Baton Rouge thing. But the safe sex items (condoms) are locked in containers. I personally don't think it's a good idea. I mean I'm grown so I have no problem with getting it unlocked. But I'm thinking about young adults and teens that might be embarrassed to ask to get it unlocked, and opt to not have safe sex. I guess that's another story. But this Walmart is a great location and I for sure will return when I'm back in Baton Rouge. read more

When I'm on a business trip, it's nice when there are places close to the hotel for shopping, meals, and buying essentials like razor blades, floss, and mouth wash. Walmart is also a good place to observe the locals in their native habitat. This WalMart is decked out in it's new Corporate colours and wannabe Target styling, and is huge, roomy, and confusing to navigate. After a detour to look at the latest electronics, I was more than happy to get my toiletries, get through some rather long check out lines, and head back to the barn. read more

We visit a neighborhood Walmart off of highland rd. Usually but it was closed so we visited this one. We got most of the dry stuff we needed and as headed towards the back of the store to cold stuff. A women dressed like a customer started yelling across at me and my roomate. At first i didn't realize she was trying to talk to us, or even hear what she was saying. I find out she is a manager She tells us we must leave the store and the is no line at the front of the store to check out... Does this store not have a working intercom? We took a few steps towards the group of people waiting in line crowded by the self checkout area. I turn to my roomate and tell him I'm going to grab at least a gallon of milk before its our turn but the manager stops me again saying i cant.. I ask her why of course i just want to get milk considering we were probably the last customers in line. And now we will have to wait in the line you said wasn't here. Her answer was she had already told another person no about grabbing one more item.. i understand we are in a pandemic, and we probably don't have staff to run the store. but can we at least get the store hours posted online/google? Not pleased with the way this manager presented her self or how she handled this interaction. Im sure she just wanted to go home being the end of the day, but what about the other customers that had the same expectation of being able to shop till 11pm~. read more

Seriously, sometimes the only thing that brings me inside a Walrmart here in Baton Rouge is the convenience and sometimes prices can't be beat. During my last visit, it was all the more pleasant than ever before. The store is fairly well organized and aisles have great signage. Customer service is always hit and miss. It never seems like a pleasure for the employees to give me assistance on the simplest things. The only reason I was here this last time is because Chase credit card holders get cash back this quarter on Walmart purchases. Otherwise, I would be shopping elsewhere. One of the best parts about my recent visit was that I found fresh guava in the produce department! Boy, was I excited. I love guava fruit. The team member at my check-out line was quite nice, too, and she went out of her way to make sure I had everything in my cart before I left. This is supercenter, so they are definitely a lot more than your average Walmart. In addition to a food and fresh produce department, they have bath, bedding, automotive, office supplies and more. It's located right off College Drive, which is right down the street from home. If it wasn't that close and if it wasn't Chase Bank cash back month at Walmart, I would not be here. In fact, I go out of my way to shop at Walmart. Now that Costco and Trader Joe's flourishing part of the community, Walmart is down on the totem pole for me. #justsayin read more

The checkout lines here seem especially bleak...Your best bet is self check out, but even then, brace yourself for a long wait and/or process. This is a Walmart! It's got plenty of cheap items of varying quality. It's easy to spend way too long in here and emerge somewhat disoriented. Food/groceries are on the opposite side of the store as the personal care products and garden stuff (the latter two are towards the left when entering). There are clothes and shoes in the middle section, electronic games in the middle back, and household items towards the garden supplies. read more

This store is a complete and utter mess. I've lived in the south my whole life so I've been in quite a few Walmart stores. This is the worst. Where to start? The parking lot isn't safe. I've never been solicited for money by suspect characters so much in a single parking lot in my life. Parking is generally awful so you can't even park near the front to avoid that issue. It's not clean. Spills get left for long periods of time (as in, I'll enter the store, shop, and see it's still there when I leave). The isles are a mixed bag. At best they are ok. At worst, disorganized and messy. Checkout is awful. They close down most of the lanes at night, which immediately clogs up foot traffic where you'll literally be behind 5+ carts. My stuff starts to defrost by the time I'm home. The workers aren't very knowledgeable in their departments. Given Walmarts horrible business practices, I don't expect a lot from the employees. I might not care much either if I was paid badly and didn't get benefits. I don't expect people to be able to know everything about the whole store. BUT you should at least have a decent knowledge about the department you are stationed in. Oh and one time I waited two hours to get my oil changed here, and then they told me they didn't have the right filter. And they didn't care either. So avoid their auto section clearly. read more

Don't steal from here! I've seen several people picked up by undercover security at this location. One time, I saw a mom using her kid as a diversion while she shoplifted. Yes, they were caught. Great example for your kids. You probably found a way to blame Walmart for catching you, but in reality, you are a thief and you're teaching your children that it's ok as long as you don't get caught. For shame. Oh yeah...the Walmart itself is ok. Renovations many years ago have long since lost their luster, as with all of our local Walmarts. The local tv station in baton rouge reported a recall of eggs. The upc numbers were posted on the internet. One of the upc's matched a dozen eggs that I recently purchased. I visited the Baton Rouge store on College dr to shop for groceries. I brought my eggs with the recall upc number to customer service. The supervisor was called by the customer rep to work with me. He refused to accept my return of eggs, stating that the recall was only at stores in Texas. And no other comment as he moved to another customer. Returning home after shopping, the recall eggs had been out of the refrigerator over 2 hours. I threw those eggs away. I also looked again at the internet recall message and did not find mention of ONLY TEXAS EGGS were recalled.. Reviewing what had transpired with the recall eggs, I feel that the situation could have and should have more detailed , before refusing to accept my return..
