Be sure to call ahead to verify hours, especially around holidays, as they can vary. The shop is closed Saturdays, which is a downside, but it's the only true eyeglass repair shop in the area--other 2 nearby places in the promenade don't actually offer repairs. Prices are very reasonable too. Conveniently located near Target & CVS next to the Kumon Learning Center. I'd definitely keep this place in mind for future repairs.

On my second visit, I brought in a pair of Louis Vuitton sunglasses with a broken bolt and a bent temple arm. Lyndon was very transparent and explained that trying to bend the arm back into place could potentially cause it to break. A couple of days later, he called to let me know they were ready for pickup, and I was so relieved! They turned out great, and I honestly expected the worst. So, I show up and the doctor is nice however there absolutely no trials in my prescription in ant brand? The doctor had suggested monovision and have used multifocals. I get a pair of lenses that for up close and far that aren't my correct prescription, they seemed good enough while jn the chair. I had previously informed the doctor about only having contacts for distance and no glasses, also having an event at the end of the week (that I found out I need to read now) along with a vacation the following week. All is well she said they will call me when the trials arrive. However, once I go to check out, they inform me it will be $95 which they did not disclose, and it is fine for a contacts exam just irritating they couldn't share that when I asked. But what really got me was that they said it would be $95 TO ORDER THE TRIALS! I'm very familiar how optometrist work with representatives for the companies, ordering trials is free btw, so this already was a red flag. I let them know that I would be in at the end of the week to make a payment. They then informed me they will order trials at that time of payment only. I've never heard of such a thing. So I call Wednesday to explain my situation again and to check if there is any trials that could possibly be in sooner than a week after next Friday. That's when the person on the phone rudely said: what I need to know is if you're going to do the exam, she said this twice throughout the conversation, needless to say, I said no and canceled my husband's appointment for Friday. I will be going back to my old office where they don't expect payment before ordering free trials nor do they waste your time. The girl that took over the phone call is not very nice and is very pushy, I personally don't tolerate that. The doctor was nice however the staff interaction is not worth returning. I do not recommend this office for contact lens exams.

Dr. Parker has been my optometrist for many years. He has taken good care of my eyes. Recently I went to Dr. Parker because my right eye was having excessive floater activity. He took a look and said it was something that needed to be monitored, that it was age related., nothing serious. Because I have had macular issues with my left eye, I decided as a just in case to get a second opinion from an ophthalmologist and he basically said the same thing as Dr. Parker. Never hurts to get a second opinion. But, good to know Dr. Parker knows his stuff! Overall, office staff is good. There are a couple of faces who I believe have been there for a while. It seems like there is a high turnover of other office staff and some confusion about things. For instance, one time after a couple weeks I called to find out when my contacts would arrive, to find out they were never ordered. No big deal.

Had a good selection, especially monsteras, philodendrons, plumerias, Hoyas and desert roses. The owner's father assisted me and was very friendly and helpful. I left with a few nice healthy plants. Negative- I don't like nursery/shops that don't list the prices. They can take a sharpie and write on the pots or make a sign but you have to ask what each one costs and I feel at that point they can tell you any price they want. I am from the Los Angeles area and after visiting multiple plant shops and nurseries in the SD area (I'm a plant addict with approx 350 tropicals and another 200 in succulents), I find the shops in SD area are double or more than what plants would go for in Los Angeles nurseries/shops. Maybe it's just the area as I found the same situation in SF. So maybe compared to shops in the SD area, the nurseries here offer decent prices, but not worth it for me to drive the 2 hrs as I'm not saving any. For example, the varigated monstera adansonii I was told is $250 here, but I got one the same size in LA for $80. I got the varigated plumeria here for $100 and then saw one bigger in Los Angeles for $65. But if you don't care about the price and just want a rare plant you may not find elsewhere, then this is a good spot.
