I never felt hesitant to ask a question because he created an environment where curiosity was encouraged and every question was met with patience and respect. Peter also helped me develop a structured and intensive review plan for my full length exams, which made a significant difference in how effectively I was able to study and track my progress. His guidance strengthened my understanding of the material and gave me the confidence I needed as I moved closer to test day. Peter is an exceptional tutor, and I recommend him wholeheartedly. He is a wonderful choice not only for MCAT preparation but for any science course. His dedication, clarity, and supportive teaching style truly set him apart.

I took an intro French course recently with Celine Val. I really liked the class and our teacher. I…read morethought it was reasonably well structured and that she did a good job teaching us first how to pronounce, then how to read and write. We studied formal and informal. If you have any background in a language I would suggest you refresh yourself and test into something other than the intro course. Starting at the beginning was perfect for me since I have never studied French before, but it was very, very basic stuff. Had I taken that level for a language I had previously studied I think I would have been bored. Pros: - Conveniently located to the 84 and 101 (and Caltrain?) - Convenient times after work - Great way to sample a new language to see if you're really interested in it. - You get to keep the text book (they are used, mine had writing it...) Cons: - When you are only meeting once a week it's really easy to say: "I'll study this weekend." "I'll study tomorrow." "Oh crap, class is tonight, I better study." - Cost - it's roughly $40 a class (give or take) so if you're going to stick with it long term it's going to add up. A college course may be cheaper (though with the way college tuition is these days maybe not?). Private lessons seem to run $30-$40+ an hour, so I think their costs are reasonable. It just adds up over time, which hurts my head when I do the math... - $50 one time set-up fee per student

Erick did a great job of assessing my current level of proficiency and then adapting an appropriate curriculum to advance my skills. We met at the Menlo Park school at times, which is a very easy to access right next to the Facebook campus off of Willow Road. Other times we met at a location we decided upon. The staff at ABC were very helpful in my billing or any questions I needed to get answered. Highly recommend ABC for anyone interested in any foreign language, no matter what level they are in. They will have an instructor for whatever language you are interested in.

Every time after meeting Janet, I feel he is not only more confident about writing but happier about who he is. His teacher at school even recognized he would become more positive and engaged in class after he visits Janet. Another service we appreciate is consulting with Janet before his 504plan meeting. There are so many things I am navigating as a parent and I definitely want to focus on what's most important. I met Janet before our 504plan meeting and her insight as a parent and a former teacher really helps me to focus on what's most important. She also coaches my son to speak up for himself. It's always good when you have an experienced and understanding partner at your side practically and mentally. The positive relationships she built with my son has been beyond a writing tutor but as his asset to success other areas in elementary school years.

She has taken the anxiety out of writing, teaching him that it doesn't need to be perfect, and helping him learn to organize and develop his thoughts on the page. This is our kid who couldn't write more than 2 sentences two years ago and who couldn't write without panicking. Those blockers that previously held him back aren't showing up at all now, and he has only ever seen his work with Janet as a fun part of his week. It never felt like "tutoring" at all.

I've been signing up my two daughters for different programming curriculum via afterschool programs…read moreand summer programs and I noticed that they thrived when they were in environments such as the all girls coding summer program run by Alexa Cafe. But there isn't a year-round option like this available for us. They were the only girls in the programs after school and they felt like they were passive learners. They hated it. I was lucky to hear about Juni Learning from a friend who is one of their teachers and I figured I'd try the free trial. I liked the set up, coding from home, they can both log on separately in their laptops receive 1:2 instruction from a female MCS student at Duke who is more relatable than someone decades older and male. It's a financial sacrifice for us but it's worth every cent. They are enjoying the classes, tinkering when they don't have to, and are excited to show me their projects because they feel a sense of ownership they didn't feel before. I can't wait to see their progress as they continue with Juni learning. I can't recommend Juni enough.

Furthermore, the customer service is phenomenal, professional and responds to my questions and concerns if any arraise promptly ( which is very important to me) .. That said, I would like to personally thank Ashley in Customer service who always goes above and beyond with helping me.. It was divine appointment that we found Mr. Test Prep. I…read morealmost never use Yelp anymore to search for anything (sorry, yelp!) but I came on here just to see if there was any SAT prep service that could help my son. He had already sat for the SAT in his 10th grade, and had a decent 1550 score, but we wanted to see if he could improve it. Mr. Test Prep's approach and clear value proposition really stood out to me in the sea of the multitude of tutors and SAT prep services. We gave it a try, our son Ethan loved Michael's style, and format, and it was a good fit for our family's needs all around. Ethan sat for the SAT again in a few months of working with Michael, and his score was perfect. Of course, everyone's mileage may vary. For us , it was a match made in heaven :) Thanks, Michael

My son (who actually does well with online learning) did the trial and felt he could do better on his own. I eventually got someone who did in person tutoring. In my experience, a lot of these online classes and tutors benefit the tutor but not the students. If you have a student who does well with online teaching, maybe this is okay. But if you want to pay big money, make sure you get results. For our family, the benefit of taking the SAT over and over was good. But not having any human interaction with the tutor or peers was not good. My son eventually scored a 1570 but with an in person tutor and taking the SAT five times.
