BUYER BEWARE - ROI Remodeling Failed Us Completely 1 STAR -…read moreWould give ZERO stars if possible After months of dealing with ROI Remodeling and owner Luis Avalos, I feel compelled to warn other homeowners about this contractor. What started as a positive home renovation project turned into a nightmare that we're still dealing with, including stealing of our money and theft of all of our tools from the home. Despite repeated efforts to provide him with an opportunity to make good on the documented money he owes us and tools his teams stole, he has completely left us with nothing. THE BIGGEST RED FLAGS: They don't pay their bills - ROI made a serious and extremely careless templating error requiring our massive kitchen island countertop to be completely remade/reordered. We covered their $11,500 mistake in November 2024 because he affirmatively told us he didn't have the cash to be able to cover it and he promised us in writing immediate reimbursement "next week." It's now been over 8 months with NO payment despite multiple requests in writing. Substandard workmanship across the board - We had to hire a completely new contractor team to fix and complete their botched work, including: Unacceptable paint and wall finishes Incorrectly plumbed bathroom fixtures Improperly installed range vent system Multiple electrical and lighting errors Incomplete and incorrect cabinetry installation Unfinished cork flooring Wrong skylight lighting installation Poor tile work requiring regrouting Failed pocket door and barn door installations Some kitchen cabinets are already separating from the walls due to improper installation Saltillo tile floors inappropriately sealed and sealed over unclean floors THEFT - Members of ROI team and/or their subcontractos STOLE nearly all my tools from our garage (handsaw, impact drill with batteries/charger, ratchet set, pliers, screwdrivers). Luis acknowledged this missing tools via audio message in May 2024 and promised replacement/reimbursement at the end of the job. We received NOTHING. THE Bottom Line: ROI Remodeling left us with incomplete work, damaged property, stolen tools, and outstanding debts. We've been more than patient and gracious, but enough is enough. We gave Luis multiple chances to pay. Each time he made and broke a new promise. He is not trustworthy and everyone should be aware of what you are walking into with ROI. DO NOT HIRE ROI REMODELING. Your project will cost you double - once for their failed work, and again to hire competent contractors to fix their mistakes. Save yourself the headache, financial loss, and stress. Posted after exhausting all reasonable attempts to resolve these issues directly with the company.

We had to hire another roofer to tear down all the work Sapper did plus in addition to the damage the leaking roof caused inside the house. A Chief Building Inspector Planning & Inspections conducted a site investigation. He determined the damage done was faulty. The contractor is not registered with the city nor is licensed.

Bid started at $28,697.31. Final time to completion 8 business day. Told Thiago Fiala it was more…read morethan I could afford. So we eliminated certain items and the next bid was $16,562.25. as we went along, I decided I could afford those deleted items and gave Mr. Fiala the go ahead and add those items back in. The time to completion was to be 8 business days. The final amount to be paid to him was $3781.94 (on 7/16/2025) bringing the total to $31,894.79. Then he walked out with the job unfinished. He left the front porch without the second coat of paint and the sealer. I had paid him extra for a 24" box tree at $315.86, which I never got and a 5 gallon vine he was responsible for letting die, because he had not yet finished installing the sprinkler system, and just neglected to water upon planting. That happened with many plants which I re bought. Then he had the nerve to complained when I asked his crew to replant them. We agreed on a drip sprinkler system where each plant would have an adjustable nozzle. so I could control the amount of water each planted for their size and as they grew. At the last minute he put in a hose with holes every 12 inches, hit some plants and totally missing others. This is just a few of the many... what can I call it, neglect, goobers. I believe it is a matter of presenting ones self with knowledge of which you have no idea. As for construction abilities: I could do better than this years ago. He posted pictures of the front of my house. (You'll recognize it by the turquoise color) He used decorative boards, at my expense to cover up mistakes in the quality of the wood or mistakes he made.. also the front cover was way over built for the size. I have given Mr. Fiala numerous calls with no response. This is 10/3/2025. At best he is a con artist...at worst a bad con artist
