On a Friday afternoon, I reached out to ~5-7 vendors to assess a broken HVAC in a DC condo. Ricardo was able to come out IMMEDIATELY at 8PM on a Friday night. He did a quick dusting of the unit which hadn't been serviced in a while and even went to the roof as a part of his diagnosis. After sticking around for a couple hours trying to find the source of the problem, I was mentally preparing myself to pay a diagnosis and service fee, but there was no such thing. What signaled to me Ricardo was top notch was the fact that this man lives in Baltimore, easily a 50-minute commute from where I was in DC. He didn't leave until I was satisfied with his work until 930PM on a FRIDAY night. This type of service is difficult if not impossible to find. Ricardo patiently explained what the problem was, why I wouldn't have working AC after he would leave, and what my options were. He was very transparent with pricing, sent over a couple of quotes, and laid out what install schedules would look like depending on which manufacturer I went with. He and his team came in Tuesday and the install lasted about 7 hours. Fully working AC in less than 2 business days at a reasonable and competitive price. You cannot beat that.

They were able to meet the daily time constraints for an appointment within a week. Although, I do think evening or Saturday hours would be helpful for those of us that work the same hours that they are currently open. The person coming to my house, Joseph, called beforehand to say he was on his way and showed up exactly in the scheduled time frame. I explained my issue and he got right to work. He even answered all of my questions without being bothered. It took some time to snake the drain and replace the old vents, but it was done well within a reasonable time frame. He even brought up Saffer's "Safer with Saffer" club membership which saved me 10 percent on this visit plus free estimates on future calls and even discounts with some other members in the program plus a whole lot more. It is well worth the $100 yearly cost. As others have said, they are not the cheapest but they are the best and I would have to agree. People always want something fixed on the cheap, but what they don't realize is you truly get what you pay for. I have learned it is almost always bettter to pay a little more the first time then have to pay twice for something because it wasn't fixed right. During the process, the company damaged my flooring, which they eventually replaced. They also removed a door and initially failed to rehang it. In addition, molding was removed and never replaced. I had to repeatedly follow up to get these issues addressed, turning what should have been a simple installation into a prolonged and frustrating ordeal. Not a single acknowledgment from a problem nor an apology. While some of the damage was eventually corrected, the poor communication, lack of attention to detail, repeated visits, and extended timeline were unacceptable--particularly given the high cost.
