Jonathan came out and confirmed that that was indeed true. Everything seemed to be going well. Jonathan was very friendly and polite. When it came time for the estimate, he told me it was going to be just under $3,000. That seemed like quite a lot to me for just changing out a blower motor and a capacitor. He also told me that my Rheem furnace couldn't take just any old blower motor and he had to order one special. He said that his company doesn't deal with Rheem because their parts are hard to get. I reluctantly agreed to the repair, which he said would probably take place the next day. Later, he called and said the part wasn't going to arrive for a whole week. This was during one of the hottest weeks of the year in Southern California and I certainly didn't want to be without air conditioning, which runs through my furnace and needs the blower motor. I asked him what my other options were. He told me the only other option I had was to get a whole new system. He explained that he could install the system in only 2 days time or I could wait a whole week and have him repair the blower motor. He also mentioned a 10 year warranty with 1 or 2 years of service from his company. I asked him about the brand and quality of the Furnace that he intended on selling me, which was going to be almost $8,000. He told me it was better than my current system brand and I asked to get it in writing so I could do some research. After not receiving anything in writing I called his company and requested the same thing from them. Shortly after the conversation with his company I received an email specifying the make and model of the new furnace. I researched online and discovered a few interesting things. Number one, Jonathan had lied to me about Rheem parts. I found out from my online research that Reem takes Universal parts and I would not have had to wait until the next week to receive a blower motor that would fit. I also discovered that blower motors and capacitors cost nowhere near $3,000 to install. And finally, the brand of the new furnace that was recommended by Jonathan was nowhere near the quality of the Rheem furnace that I already owned. I canceled the job immediately with the company and again with Jonathan when he called me to find out what was going on. I am still waiting for my refund on the deposit! My contractor friend and I went to an HVAC store and purchased a universal blower motor and capacitor for $180... and installed it ourselves in a couple hours. The system is working perfectly. I don't recommend this business at all. I'm completely confused on why they have such a good rating on Yelp, which is why I picked them to begin with. This was a clear case of trying to take advantage of an old lady in a wealthy neighborhood. Shame on them!! Update: I received a full refund of my deposit and the service fee was completely waived. I got a nice apology from the owner and a manager.

I called RC Air conditioning as my last hope. I have been dealing with a home warranty A/C contractor for almost two months. Today was the last straw!!! After reading through the YELP reviews I made the call. Evelyn was professional and empathetic. She said she would try to see how the techs were doing. Within 30 minutes she called me back and told me she was able to get someone out To our house today, this evening. WOW!!! Paul arrived on time and for working all day in this heat he was very pleasant. He conducted a thorough examination of the equipment and explained what he was doing and checking for every step of the way. He suspected our coils were frozen which is why no cold air was coming through the vents. After an hour or so he was packing up and a lot of cold air was coming out of the vents. After all the work he did "Thank You" doesn't begin to express my gratitude. I could not have asked for a better response from RC Air Conditioning on such short notice. Best home improvement experience i have ever encountered. Extremely fast response. They were out to my house within 3 hours of me calling, on a Sunday no less. Showed up in professional attire and their sprinter was top notch. Went right to work took one look at it and knew exactly what it was. They took all of the safety precautions necessary. And fixed it in less than 20 minutes. The best part was personality and friendliness. I have never come close to this type of experience. Over holiday weekend my ac went out, and I called Rc air, the came out with a reasonable holiday service fee and informed me that my ac compressor failed. The tech gave me a few options to fix my issue to get me cooking again, but due to holiday and supply houses closed on Fourth of July and needing a new ac condenser it would have to wait until July 5th and hand us portable ac units to help cool our home until job could be done. So on July 5th at 630pm Rc air crew came out as there last call and installed our new condenser and we couldn't be happier. Paul with RC Air saves the day! He helped us out during the winter time by correctly diagnosing a furnace issue. We had two other companies come out and they did not seem eager to spend the time to actually find the issue. Paul then came out and troubleshooted the system and had it up and running the same day!
