Another day, another diagnostic test at Rayus Radiology! Not how I want to spend my time, but seems to be in the cards for me, unfortunately. This was my first time at this location, and honestly thought I wrote the adress down incorrectly because I typically go to Rayus on NW Savior, and sometimes the one off of SW Walker. Each location provides the same basic services, but for some specific tests - catscans, ultrasounds, MRIs, or biopsies - you have to go to a specific location. As has always been my experience with Rayus, this visit was fantastic. Friendly, welcoming and efficient from the check in process to the technician conducting the diagnostic test. No wasted time. In, out, done. Oh, and it's easy to get appointments within a week or two, no booking 4-6 weeks out. For these reasons, I always tell my doctors to write the referral to Rayus and not Providence or OHSU. Unfortunately I'm a regular, but it's comforting to know my experience will always be easy and stress free. Plenty of parking out front including handicapped spots. read more

Kaiser was booked up for weeks scheduling MRI. I had an injury to my knee on Halloween and I've been limping and hobbling along since then. Kaiser sent over my referral and the scheduler called me the next day. Checking in was easy but here came the paperwork. The same questions that were asked when scheduling but pages and pages. This would be helpful if it were a streamlined process that can been filled out online. This was a very clean facility and well run. The tech that took me to the back was very helpful, informative and thorough. We got through the MRI without a hitch and now I wait for a few days up to a week for results to be read by the Kaiser doctor. Overall a very good experience. read more

I had a series of x-rays taken. Since we were at the peak of virus season I wore a mask. After approximately ten minutes of the umasked technician taking x-rays, I noticed she kept sniffling. I asked her if she was sick and she said she had a cold. I explained to her that some of us had reduced immune systems, hence wearing a mask. Her flippant response was she was trying not to breath on me. At the least I feel she should have been wearing a mask, or better yet, stayed home until she had recuperated. Just seems like common courtesy. After 30 years of going there for various studies, I am seriously considering having future imaging elsewhere. read more

Hands down the worst medical experience of my life. Painful, uncaring providers, chaotic, inexperienced, cruel. Unbelievable. Reported to management and received a lot of excuses- the least favorite one is that there were new techs that needed more training. Don't let them "practice" on patients. If a patient is there it is normally because there is a medical concern. The poor and painful treatment heightened my anxiety. Front office is not friendly- it's all very robotic and cold. read more

Terrible experience. This is my second time here for my yearly breast cancer screening since my insurance changed. Their reminder texts are very confusing. They lead you to believe you need to be here ridiculously early. They never actually tell you what time your appointment is. I've waited over 40 minutes each time now for my appointment. It's a bad business model and makes the patient believe you are always running behind (which they are). I did my paperwork online ahead of time. Total waste of time. I will for sure look for another option my insurance will cover for next year. read more

First of all, I had my MRI order transferred to Rayus because the clinic it was first sent to was being difficult; in hindsight I should have stuck with the first clinic. Rayus's scheduler got me an appointment for multiple images as soon as possible and made it sound like getting the insurance authorization was imminent and not to be worried. I was pretty excited, certainly hopeful. About 2 weeks before my appointment they called and tried to cancel 2/3 of my appointment because the scheduling staff messed up and now someone else who was flying in was scheduled for the last part of my time. I spoke to a manager of some kind impressed that I would not stand for being penalized for the staff's mistake, she humbly agreed, and I was allowed to keep my originally intended schedule. The DAY BEFORE my appointment they called to try to cancel again because they were "short staffed" and hadn't gotten the insurance authorization which only takes 3-4 days, but because of their supposed staffing problems they hadn't started the process until 2 days earlier. So again, their careless staff (who could have started the authorization process 3 weeks earlier when I was initially scheduled) was the reason I almost lost an appointment for a procedure my doctor initially ordered almost 3 months earlier. I made it clear that again this was unacceptable; I spoke to insurance and then called RAYUS back and insisted that my appointment go thru as scheduled. By the time I arrived the next morning, all authorizations were in order. The next week I had a follow-up with my primary to discuss the results and they had only sent 1 of the 3 reports so the appointment was a waste of time. I called and checked on them and Rayus said they were ALL complete and they'd fax all of them right then, I even looked at them on the patient portal. So, I had to schedule a new appointment another 2 weeks out to review...that appointment is today...yesterday my doctor's assistant told me they STILL didn't have the results. So...I downloaded the reports and sent them to my doctor so that I don't waste another copay and 2 weeks. Let me clarify that the 2 MRI techs who performed the actual MRI's were great, but the management and clerical staff are TERRIBLE; unorganized, totally lacking in respect or consideration for their patient's time and need for prompt, professional medical care. All the thumbs down, do not recommend, will not return. read more

After a fine experience here getting an MRI, we had an awful experience with the billing office. Although my husband updated our address at the time of service, Rayus sent the bill to our old address (10 years ago -- well past mail forwarding time) and then sent our account to collections. Just like Heather's review from a few months ago! So it's a pattern of incompetence with them. I'm dismayed that there was no attempt to even call us before sending to collections -- the phone # hasn't changed in 25 years - or email us -- which also hasn't changed. Look, I've worked in AR/collections management for most of my career. It's a basic best practice to at least attempt another method of communication before sending an account to outside collections; the fact that they didn't take the time to * make one phone call * indicates to me a company that absolutely won't go one single extra inch for their clients. Good to know. The collections agency did call, and we paid the bill over the phone with them that day -- hopefully, before it could be reported to the credit agencies. (Still unknown at the moment.) The only thing that makes me happy in all of this is knowing that Rayus had to pay some fee to the collections agency that they could have saved with one phone call. I know, it's likely a small fee that doesn't matter to a corporation, but still. They've lost any future business from us, and anyone else we can tell about this experience.... sure would be a shame if I had any friends in, say, orthopedic medicine. read more

My doctor ordered an important heart health test. When Rayus called to schedule it, they failed to inform me that my insurance had denied coverage on the test and that I would have to pay several hundreds of dollars out of pocket. I also let the scheduler know that I had recently had surgery and was unable to get into certain positions. The scheduler put me on hold to check with the techs. She came back on the line and assured me it would be fine. Drove over two hours to get to the facility as I live in a small town outside of the metro area. Upon arrival I'm slapped with the cash pay bill. Since I drove that far I decided to pay it and get the test done. I get in the back and my husband has to help me get undressed which is very painful due to my surgery. I get all the way to the machine and the tech is completely baffled when I tell her I can't put my arm over my head. She goes out of the room to check with another tech leaving me there freezing my ass off. She finally comes back and tells me that if we do the scan with my arm down it will be inaccurate. So I drove all that way for nothing. My husband helps me (painfully) get dressed again and we speak with the office manager. She refunds my payment and promises to send me a gas card to reimburse me. All the time saying, oh we'll have to check the recording of the scheduler's call because apparently didn't believe me. The next week she called me and says, we reviewed the call and you were right about everything. It took several more weeks to get something in the mail from them. They sent me a measly $20 in fred meyer gift cards. I will never go to this facility again. So unprofessional on every level.​​​​​​ read more

I went there for an ultrasound. In the past I have exclusively used Providence, but I had trouble scheduling an appointment, I was able to schedule with Rayus in a minimal amount of time. I waited a half hour for the tech, so I spoke to the receptionist and I was seen in another few minutes. So that would be maybe a negative .4 stars. But it was all routine after that. read more

The billing office is impossible to reach. Everything you call you are on hold for 40+ mins and no one ever picks up. However they continue to send you bills asking you to call if you need to make payment arrangements. I even sent them a note inside a billing statement as well as a message thru yelp and no one has called or emailed me. They obviously do not want to work with you on any payment plan. All of this after they sent me to collections after sending my bill to a ten year old address. Although I had updated the address in office they never changed it in their billing system. Totally ridiculous. Still waiting for them to call, email or write me. Regardless of the care you receive here, their billing department is TERRIBLE. read more

I had a great experience with RAYUS Radiology. Specifically with Cassandra with the scheduling department and Alicia at this specific location in Beaverton. I was treated with respect and care. Cassandra with scheduling went above and beyond to help me get on the calendar as soon as I had my referral even though my doctor's office had messed things up that could have cause further delays. And Alicia was very kind and thorough in talking about what to expect for my first experience getting an MRI. I would recommend this place if you need imaging. read more

I gave them the info, scheduled my appointment for 2 weeks later. I drive and hour to get here today and they canceled my appointment with zero communication. This review has to do with the experience I had with the staff while at Epic for my annual mammogram. While waiting to be called back, the front desk staff were talking among themselves. One was struggling to remove her sweater and as she did so, stated something along the lines of having "special needs". I tensed up and decided to just take a deep breath and let it go. That lasted all of 30 seconds. I walked up to the front desk and discreetly let her know that I have a son that has a disability and I didn't think that using the term special needs to reference oneself in a self depriciating joke, is funny or appropriate. I was then called back. The staff member that took me back asked what happened and I told her. Another woman came to talk with me. I told her I had no intention of saying anything to anyone but the woman who made the comment but I briefly told her what happened. She came back while I dressed and after my mammogram, and made the whole situation worse. She made an excuse for the woman. She said the woman meant she had special needs because she is always hot or cold or something about temperature regulation. The only thing worse than making that statment, was having the office manager excuse it with such a ridiculous explanation. On top of which she insisted on going on and on about it and I finally had to let her know that I had kids at home to get to and she had taken far too much of my time already. I will not be returning to Epic Imaging for my annual mammograms. Shame on the staff at this facility. read more

I was permanently injured in a procedure at this location. I walked into the office normally, then left in a wheel chair. They did a procedure on me that should not have been done, and to make matters worse, they did not warn me of the risks involved, so that I could make an educated decision. you would think people would be kinder to patients receiving care at a radiology lab...the receptionists are really kind and accommodating at this location but I got to experience a real Karen of a technician. There are professional / empathetic ways of communicating with people, especially patients and this woman did not possess these skills, which is concerning in her line of work. I would consider a different location especially if you are going through a difficult time and need to be treated kindly, not guilted, called "ma'am" in an aggressive way and spoken to like you're in trouble and an idiot. read more

Slow. Full lobby. Waited too long. Finally staff person came. Said dr ordered wrong test so i had to wait there and hour. Already sat in lobby 20 minutes. Then results were delayed and not gotten to my dr for three days. Very poor service. One desk person seemed quite abrupt and rude in my observation. read more

Whoever is reading this at Epic Imaging I hope you understand that this updated review is for one person only and that's Ellen in your accounts Department. After the chaos of all the phone calls with no voicemails and Shawna's less than enthusiastic approach to helping me figure out what was wrong and why... I finally talked to someone that knew what was going on at Epic Imaging and that's Ellen. After Shawna "connected" me to billing and I was on hold for anither 20 minutes, I decided to hang up and call again. This time the phone picked up right away and I got Ellen who was, without any hesitation, able to tell me what was wrong w my account. She said it was marked clear as day, and that all they needed was some information for billing. The original information provided was denied and they needed another billing method. That was it. That was all that they needed. Over a week of hassle and drama and Ellen only needed 4 mins to fix it and my headache from my almost hour phone call at this point. EVERYONE in that front office, x-ray, and answering a phone should be trained by Ellen. She apologized, she showed empathy, she ACKNOWLEDGED how frustrating it must have been for me. She told me what I needed, I gave it to her, she explained the next steps and said it was done. Easy peasy. Thank you, Ellen. THANK YOU. read more

My experience here getting an MRI for my ouchie back was mixed. It's like the fast food of imaging places. They do things quickly and they have a method and do not deviate. If you don't get with the program it's,well, a little unfun.Maybe the word is stressful. Scheduling was pretty easy. I got reminders of my appointment by text and voicemail. Like my back would let me forget. I checked in early. I had a plan to go to the restroom, do my paperwork whilst drinking my coffee, and mentally prep for the test. I was not excited. I was also going to take another round of ibuprofen,or so I thought. But the tech came out in seconds hoping to get me in ahead of the person scheduled before me. He was friendlyish but abrupt and zoomed down the hallways to the dressing area. I cannot zoom. I am a turtle right now. He asked me questions I had already answered on the Patient Form. That bugs me.Ugh. When he heard I had to pee he shrugged, headed me to the restroom and by the time I got out I heard it was a no, the other patient was ready after all. So I wound up waiting in the " quiet room" in the back for 45 minutes, which was a good 30min past my original appointment time. When he came back he zoomed me to the mri machine, well he tried. Turtly Janet. I have either shooting pain or numbness or both down both my legs from my lower spine and walking is rough.This is why I am getting the MRI after all. Getting on the little table was also rough.He quickly swung my legs up for me when I was going too slow. That hurt like heck. Then they gave me earplugs and headphones and asked me what Pandora station I wanted and started the test. So the machine rolls you in and out of a tube and makes loud LOUD noises. BOOM BOOM BOOM RATTLE RATTLE RATTLE...which I expected. But there was no music in my headphones. I yelled that much on a roll out but was ignored. It's very claustrophobicish in that tube. If someone has an anxiety attack I hope they'd respond to them....but I'm not confident. When the tech came to get me up and out, which he wanted to do quickly but which is the hardest part of my back thing ( moving from prone to upright), I said "there was no music". He shrugged. " It doesn't work sometimes." He totally wanted me outta there and tried to move me fast and I ended up in more pain on the way out than when I arrived. They promised the results would go to my doctor that day and they did. About an hour after my test was done. When I called the following day because my PCPs office said they hadn't received them, they sent them again. So, to sum up. Efficient. Busy. But maybe not very compassionate? I did hear other techs talking sweetly to their patients so perhaps my experience was not typical. I just really don't want to repeat it. Still heard BOOM BOOM BOOM reverberating in my head for the rest of the day. Shudders. read more

Rayus coaches me before arriving as to what to expect, sends me an annual snail mail reminder to set an appointment, calls me to set the appointment, informs me of any mod of op changes, then tells me and my PCP what the results of my test are. If needed, works with my PCP and other doctors for the next care needed. Rayus keeps track of my allergy to colorant used and acts accordingly to keep me comfortable for the test with as little reaction as possible. Thank you for your excellent service, Rayus! read more

pretty basic imaging clinic. Epic has several branches and I chose one somewhat handy for my location. After I made the appointment I received an email to feel free to use their portal to answer some questions for a quicker check-in process. Well, I went to access the Portal and it required an access code, seems reasonable, but i didn't have time to fuss with it, it wasn't like a usual sign in. They service was quick. The technician was thorough, over-explained something but I got the gist. Free chapstick and pens! Plenty of parking, open Saturday. Waiting room TV was tuned to some annoying home improvement show - what a waste. Don't people read magazines and stare at their cellphones anymore, why install a TV in a waiting room? read more

Worst experience I've ever had with a medical practice. They lost my lab results for over 24 hours, which showed I had breast cancer. They would not have noticed my results were missing had I not called repeatedly and demanded to speak to the scheduler in charge of breast biopsies. Once my breast cancer treatment began, they started sending me bills without going through my insurance first --threatening collection-- only to find it had been their office's error and they'd attempted to go through the wrong insurance company. Even after I organized a three-way call with their billing department and my health insurance company, Rayus has not fixed this matter. I continue to get threatening letters from them. Rayus does not care that they cause their patients great stress at an already difficult time. After learning of my experience, my surgical oncologist said she would never refer patients there as she'd heard similar accounts from others. If you're referred here, ask to go anywhere else. read more

I have mixed feelings about Epic. I had a breast biopsy and the doctor and nurse were very helpful and kind. However, I was disappointed in my initial mammogram. It took longer than expected to get the results of my mammogram. My dr had to telephone at least twice and I had to call at least three times. Additionally, THE DR IDENTIFIED THE WRONG BREAST with an issue on his report. I am very lucky that I had a ob/GYN who is so detailed and made me go in for further evaluation. I have been told by a technician that the dr that made the error on the report is no longer with Epic. She then proceeded to express to me her frustration. As I mentioned, I have mixed feelings about Epic as I had a positive biopsy experience. However, I encourage you to be your own advocate and demand your reports-even when they are late and have your own doctor be extra careful.. as mistakes can happen!! UPDATE: Thank you, Epic Customer Service for your response. I have spoken with a few people at Epic regarding this issue, none of whom have provided me with any solution. And, I am still actually waiting on a call back. read more

I'm not sure if this place is disorganized or the receptionist is a ditz. She seems extremely stressed out and is being rude to everyone who walks in the door. It's saturday morning and there's like 5 people here. Maybe she's hung over. Luckily I have insurance and I can get xrays pretty much anywhere. I will not be coming back here. The scheduling lady (Shannon) agreed to put her in for an 8 AM appointment but for some reasons Shannon changed the time to 1 PM WITHOUT consulting us first. My appointment for an X-ray was at 11 am. We got there at 10:55 am, didn't get call to do paperwork until 11:10 am and didn't get in till 11:30 am. After the waiting period, the X-ray itself was pretty fast and the X-ray expert was nice and friendly. I was supposed to get my result in a CD, but I couldn't because their CD-rom is broken. Hmmm...I just think they should have another computer with working CD-rom to make cds. Anyway, I got my result in the print form. Overall, it's an ok place to get an X-ray, but expect the wait. read more

Saved myself between $100-$250 by having my ultrasound done here. This is a big deal at the beginning of the year, when deductibles are at their peak. I've usually found Epic to be the lowest for bone density, x-Rays, etc... They were running over 30 minutes late, so I cannot give it 5 stars... read more
