This was my first time at this location, and honestly thought I wrote the adress down incorrectly because I typically go to Rayus on NW Savior, and sometimes the one off of SW Walker. Each location provides the same basic services, but for some specific tests - catscans, ultrasounds, MRIs, or biopsies - you have to go to a specific location. As has always been my experience with Rayus, this visit was fantastic. Friendly, welcoming and efficient from the check in process to the technician conducting the diagnostic test. No wasted time. In, out, done. Oh, and it's easy to get appointments within a week or two, no booking 4-6 weeks out. For these reasons, I always tell my doctors to write the referral to Rayus and not Providence or OHSU. Unfortunately I'm a regular, but it's comforting to know my experience will always be easy and stress free. Plenty of parking out front including handicapped spots.

Rayus also told me (2-3 times) the second was not covered by my insurance (out of network) and the xray was $88. I'm not rich but figured it was worth getting both done at the same time and I am so glad I did. Thankfully I wore leggings and no wire in my bra so I didn't have to change into a robe. I listened to their clear instructions and we were both pleased. Two procedures! I was in and out in 30 minutes! Including filling out the paperwork. So efficient, patient and friendly. I wish more businesses followed their example.

They will read your images on the spot so that you don't have to wait for a card in the mail. This is a small facility but that makes it nice so you don't have to fight traffic to get to it. We've all seen the cartoons about preparing yourself by slamming your bodacious ta-tas or itty bitty titties, in the refrigerator, seriously guys, it's not far from the truth. Except to say that there is no slamming, just some fierce squeezing between two metal plates, all while you stand in an uncomfortable position, and your instructed to not move or breathe! This place makes it all okay. Lovely staff, really superior staff. Exceptional decor, not sure why this matters, except to say if you gotta do something that is not so fun, at least it's nice to do it in a well designed place with a super clean, pleasing and relaxing atmosphere. The receptionist and technician were so good, I have to repeat it, the staff is great! Efficient, calming, funny, and before you know it your boobs have been adjusted just so, squished and squashed, their pictures taken, examined by a their doctor, and sent to your own doctor, all of this and they offer beverages and the latest magazines too. I suppose the only thing that could make this place better is Happy Hour.

My oncologist scheduled me here for my 6 month post chemo CT on a Monday at 7:30. A workday at the crack of dawn. No one checked with me first. So, I started grumpy. My minion picked me up at 6:30 and because of traffic, he was grumpy too. Parking was easy. The place was easy to find on the ground floor to the left of Providence Immediate Care. They had "Finding Dory" playing on a big tv and there was comfy seating. My wait was only long because I had to drink contrast beforehand in two doses over an hour. It was hard to stay cranky for too long. Everyone was really nice, the procedure was smooth. The contrast they made me drink was disgusting as usual ( I don't like the texture, I am a fragile flower) but they have a bowl of peppermints on the counter that really helped. Yay. My results were in My Chart fairly soon after, a clean scan. No sign of cancer. All good. And my minion got me a mocha after. Of course.

My husband had gone there when he had a shoulder replacement so I pretty much knew what to expect. Two days before my appt, one of the receptionists called to let me know how to prepare for my MRI: no food four hours before (thank goodness my morning coffee was OK), no metal on my person or clothing, wear loose fitting comfy clothing and try to drink some water about an hour before. I arrived for my appt 20 minutes early and filled out a few forms. My temperature was taken and everyone, including myself, wore masks. My insurance card and driver's license were wiped down with disinfectant before being returned to me. Ah, these times of COVID-19! Shortly, I was given a locker to stow my purse and coat, then taken into the procedure room. The technician, Stephanie, was very nice and explained everything as we went along. I lay on the MRI table and Stephanie got me situated. It was comfortably padded but I asked for an extra pillow to prop my head up a bit more. The entire machine was open all around, no claustrophobic feeling at all. And no pain whatsoever. Headphones are provided but mine only played white noise and I did hear the loudness of the machine (kinda like a percussion drum section but really loud) and I did keep my eyes tightly shut the whole time. I peeked only once and yes, my face was very close to the ceiling of the machine. I had to take deep breathes and hold it a number of times and the drum-like banging of the machine helped me count how long I was holding my breath. I am larger than the average bear and really appreciated Stephanie's kindness and no-judgment manner. I read on their website that they can accommodate a 450 pound person (550 on another write up) and even though I am no where near that large, it eased my anxiety immensely. They will give you a mild sedative if you think you need it but I was just fine. Having medical procedures is never any fun but when the anxiety is eased, it's definitely more tolerable. I highly recommend Open Advanced MRI NW. The only drawback is that your insurance may not cover as much as you'd like. I haven't received a bill yet, so I'm not really sure how much I will have to pay out of pocket, if anything. Now I just have to wait a few days for my results. Keeping my fingers crossed.
