They then unilaterally decided to perform a more expensive type of MRI (with contrast) and are billing me $935.63. When I called to inquire the office manager (Sunshine) lied, telling me that the orthopedist had sent in a 2nd order (with contrast); when I called to verify, the orthopedist vehemently denied that a 2nd order was placed. I have ran into some bad luck the past couple of years. This has lead me to use Open Advanced MRI NW on more than one occasion. All of my visits have been with their technician Chris. Chris has always demonstrated relaxing quality care and a professional demeanor. If I have a choice in any future needs for MRI scans I would definitely seek Open Advanced MRI with a preference for Chris to be the technician. read more

I had an MRI in January and the only reason I chose this is they were supposed to scan my entire spine in one session and I didn't want to be in a smaller tube for that long. However, they only scanned my neck area and scheduled me for another scan a few days later. They also required my entire Medicare deductible upfront. After my procedure I learned that they are not supposed to do this but rather need to wait like all the medical providers and bill me appropriately when Medicare and my secondary pay everything at the end of the monthly billing period. They admit to owing me a refund and continue to string me along about paying it. Actually telling me on two different occasions "The check is in the mail" Now it's June and I'm still out my money I paid in good faith. And, my Neurologist said the scans were the worst he'd ever seen and generally they don't recommend this place to anyone. Had I known it could have been two different scans I would have gone to the hospital or the Rayus place. NEVER use them ! read more

Open Advanced MRI is great, Chris the MRI tech went above and beyond and he got me through two brain MRI's one with and one without contrast in the same session. This was my second time coming here and I luckily got Chris twice. The machine is open on all sides, brain MRI's are tricky they basically lock your head down but Chris took the time to show me that I could easily take the cage off or slide out if I panicked. They gave me sedation which helped as well. I wouldn't have been able to get through it without Chris and how he took the time to really make me comfortable. I'd ignore the "bad reviews" of people not paying attention to the costs associated or the failure. If you move you fail as simple as that and it's not their fault if you're squirming. Sit back relax, GET THE SEDATION, and trust the process. Yes it's loud but they give you plugs to where it's not an issue. The 30min check in before is to let those meds get to working BEFORE you hit the machine. I couldn't last a single second in a regular MRI machine before my body panicked. I've been able to get through 3 brain MRI's now, that's something I never thought I could say. read more

Failed my MRI Their machine still very closterphobic and extremely loud and they still charged me even though I could not make it through the procedure. I will have to find a new location that is less chosterphobic and provides quality hearing protection. I do not recommend. read more

It takes them forever to provide report to Dr. I paid out of pocket to have a quicker experience, but they are delinquent in provinding report to my Dr. Take your business elsewhere, especially if you are in pain and need quick results. My doctor recently ordered an MRI of my abdomen. I already knew that one of those closed MRI's wasn't going to work for me, so I asked for a referral to Open Advanced MRI NW. My husband had gone there when he had a shoulder replacement so I pretty much knew what to expect. Two days before my appt, one of the receptionists called to let me know how to prepare for my MRI: no food four hours before (thank goodness my morning coffee was OK), no metal on my person or clothing, wear loose fitting comfy clothing and try to drink some water about an hour before. I arrived for my appt 20 minutes early and filled out a few forms. My temperature was taken and everyone, including myself, wore masks. My insurance card and driver's license were wiped down with disinfectant before being returned to me. Ah, these times of COVID-19! Shortly, I was given a locker to stow my purse and coat, then taken into the procedure room. The technician, Stephanie, was very nice and explained everything as we went along. I lay on the MRI table and Stephanie got me situated. It was comfortably padded but I asked for an extra pillow to prop my head up a bit more. The entire machine was open all around, no claustrophobic feeling at all. And no pain whatsoever. Headphones are provided but mine only played white noise and I did hear the loudness of the machine (kinda like a percussion drum section but really loud) and I did keep my eyes tightly shut the whole time. I peeked only once and yes, my face was very close to the ceiling of the machine. I had to take deep breathes and hold it a number of times and the drum-like banging of the machine helped me count how long I was holding my breath. I am larger than the average bear and really appreciated Stephanie's kindness and no-judgment manner. I read on their website that they can accommodate a 450 pound person (550 on another write up) and even though I am no where near that large, it eased my anxiety immensely. They will give you a mild sedative if you think you need it but I was just fine. Having medical procedures is never any fun but when the anxiety is eased, it's definitely more tolerable. I highly recommend Open Advanced MRI NW. The only drawback is that your insurance may not cover as much as you'd like. I haven't received a bill yet, so I'm not really sure how much I will have to pay out of pocket, if anything. Now I just have to wait a few days for my results. Keeping my fingers crossed. read more

As several others mentioned, they will make you pay the co-pay in advance before letting you get the MRI. Then when your actual co-pay is much lower they will not send you the refund. Do not pay in advance because they will not file your insurance claim. You will then spend months trying to get them to file your insurance claim even if you have amazing insurance. Nobody answers the phones. I also had a problem with them sending the MRI images to my doctor and they had to call multiple times requesting them. I don't want to say this place has fraudulent practices but at this point I believe they do and until they file my claim and I am reimbursed for paying up front I will continue to think this way. In fact I'm getting close to suing and taking them to small claims court. If a person has insurance they are expected to file a claim! read more

They were nice on phone and got me in within a few weeks. No need to get there 30 minutes early, paperwork is two pages with 15 yes no questions. I dislike it when doctors waste my time. Never went thru with mri, had no idea I needed copay at time if service, never had an appointment like that before. I'm broke af for a couple more weeks and figured I'd be billed within a month. I had a MRI done at Tigard Open Advanced MRI in 2021 and they Failed to Inform me that they were going to charge me for a "New Expanded Office Visit" which was $48.00 for the 5 min it took to take my temperature and to answer a few questions about whether I had been exposed to Covid. They sent me a bill 8 months later for the extra fee and threatened to take me to "Collection". They are ridiculous robbers. Do not have them do work for You!! For 5 min it cost $48.00. That is $576.00 per hr! Then they had the gall not to inform me about the Fee! They just billed me, demanded the Money and threatened me. Boycott them! read more

I had an arthro last week on my right thumb. I get a call stating that you need additional views . Number 1 , we live in Welches, Number 2 , I pre med myself, I need my husband to drive me. Number 3 , My husband works at the VA as a CT tech , he cannot take anymore time off and I have no once else to drive me to Tigard for this. I already paid 200 of my deductible for this and now you didn't get what you need ? This is unreal , I trusted that you knew what to do, and now all this time and money spent and I have to come back. This is my second time getting CT scans at Open Advanced MRI. Both times the office staff said the images would be sent to both of my doctors, but their system is totally incapable of digital images transfers! Both times I was forced to have CD's made and I personally had to delivery my images to both of my doctor offices! My insurance company recommended me to go here as they were less expensive. However, the office staff is not honest and it is totally not worth the mess you are force to go though to get your images to your doctors! Never again! read more

I can't say enough good things about this place. I struggle with anxiety and claustrophobia, and had previously been sent to a closed MRI place where I had a full on panic attack the second I was in the machine. They told me over the phone they could give me Valium to relax (you have to let them know in advance of the appt). When I arrived I filled out some paperwork and then was taken back to a massage chair and given the medication and relaxed for about 15 minutes while it kicked in. The difference between an open and closed MRI is night and day. You can move you arms, and see out if you move your head (my MRI was on my abdomen so I could move my head to the side) My husband was allowed to be with me the entire time and hold my hand through the entire procedure. The tech was constantly checking on me to make sure I was okay. Some of the other notable differences between here and the last place I went: -You can wear your own clothes as long as there is no metal. No changing into scrubs. -I was offered the option to have earplugs instead of those giant headphones that make me feel claustrophobic. read more

I am not sure why many doctors offices ask new patients to come 30 minutes before their actual appointment, especially when they send the 'new patient packet' to your home. I filled out my packet with all the information they requested and brought it with me to my appointment. Nothing was missing. This is when I realized my actual appointment was later then what I was told. I even asked I had time to leave and come back. I had 25 minutes of wait time and I was not going to just sit there after driving 45 minutes. I was too nervous. I did leave for a bite but came back with a minute to spare and I still waited almost another 10 minutes. There was nobody else waiting. I believe I was the first patient that day. With this said the care is more important then the wait time and paperwork but I had to mention it since time is important to all of us. From the receptionist that greeted me, the doctors assistant, the technician, to the doctor, everyone treated me with respect and care. 1000% stay clear of this place! I was referred here to have an MRI under iv sedation. I kept asking should I eat before I come, etc. I even asked again. I was so confused. They kept hounding me to find out how much money I had left on my PIP. Since my accident I've never run into a medical provider demanding that info. So far everyone has done all the work to verify what they need before I come. They actually went as far as saying they couldn't proceed without it. I told them this was something that seriously should have been dealt with before I came. It was like set me up for a scam right off. I called my insurance while there because they were not giving up and my handler told me they did not need that info in a very stern voice and to have them send them a bill. Then they kept demanding our private insurance- even when I went back they kept hounding my husband. This was a car accident claim, my primary insurance had nothing to do with it. Once back I was still under the impression I would be out. Found it odd I had to sit in a tiny room in a chair with magazines from years ago. Then they gave me a few options of liquid sedation. One I knew specifically didn't work for me because I had it for flying before. Did nothing. They gave it to me anyways- I should have refused. Why didn't they try the other? I got an instant wave of sleepiness and then my heart started racing and anxiety got worse. They had me lay down to try. THERE IS NOTHING EVER OPEN ABOUT AN MRI OF YOUR HEAD- the machine could be invisible but they still put a brace over your neck and shove pillows between the gaps. Then you go under a board so it's like your head is in a closed box and locked it. The tech tried to give me ear plugs and a mask. He told me a story about being stuck in a cave as a kid - he said it helped him to be blind folded to get through it. My heart is racing just thinking about it. I told him to stop. That is the last story you tell a very claustrophobic person clearly having an anxiety attack before an mri. I have whiplash and neck pain- the medicine they gave me caused all my pain to intensify. I finally said I couldn't do it. First of all they knew I was under the impression this was IV sedation but chose to ignore it. BUT to top it off they billed my PIP for $1500! I've reported this to my insurance company as fraud. Their cancellation fee wasn't even that high. I can see being charged for the medication and a brief consultation and that's it. This place is a complete and total scam. My new specialist just today told me this place is awful and he never sends anyone there. My previous referral didn't know. He sent me there for IV sedation. He knows know! This place is incredibly unprofessional and complete insurance fraud scammers. Absolutely no care for humans or understanding of claustrophobia! If you are in pain and are extremely claustrophobic and your pain has created more anxiety make sure to have your MRI done by professionals in a hospital. BUT seriously just don't go here at all for anything EVER! read more

If you're anything larger than a flea you will appreciate open advanced MRI. They have a open machine that though it is still close to you from the top it is open on the sides. This means you don't have to contort your body arms or legs to get your hips or shoulders into the machine. Also helps if you're claustrophobic, even in the least bit! The staff there is great. Knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. I have been there twice and it was so much better than the standard MRI machine. read more

I just had an MRI here. The front desk woman was very kind and helpful. The MRI tech was the nicest man. Seriously, I have a LOT of anxiety and have a large body that doesn't fit in MRI machines well. If any part of me is touching I become unglued. He was patient, non-judgmental and kind. I don't think I could have gotten through that without his professionalism and flexibility. He was able to move things around so that I fit in better, let me pick music and stayed in contact over the headphones. He let me know the length of each scan and I am so appreciative! Chiropractic and massage treatments continue to help some. After 2 visits with Dr. Larhs, the pain in my neck, shoulder, and low back was almost instaneously taken away by Dr. Larhs' treatments! This place saved my skin at work. Just when the pain seemed it wasn't ever going to let up and giving up was an option, I was sent to open advanced and almost right away I was sceptical but no they kept my pain level top priority to get calmed down. I after the first injection felt results but it took a couple more to really kill that pain for good. I am currently without serious nagging pain for over 2 months. I have had several MRIs over the past decade. This is the most incompetent lab I can imagine. They make appointments, then say they have to reschedule, calling the appointment you book in the office a "tentative appointment." They know nothing of how to check with an insurance company about coverage. Nothing. They charge me up front for a procedure that is fully covered by the insurance company. They refuse to give me an itemized receipt, which I need n order to claim the expense on my flexible spending account. They get paid by the insurance company and 2 months later have not refunded the money. The technician that missed my vein a couple of times and said she was distracted, was the least of my concerns. Had a CT scan scheduled for my sinuses, which is the most effective scan for what I needed reviewed. Somehow this office took it upon themselves to call my Dr. and convince their office how much better an MRI would be (also much more expensive). It was a week of back and forth trying to change this order and get pre approval from my insurance. So I end up going for the MRI and when I go back to my Dr. he says why on earth did they give you an MRI it doesn't show me anything? So I called and spoke to the manager and told her that an MRI wasn't even what was ordered and that it is useless for my ENT. So I had to go somewhere else and get a CT Scan which showed the detailed images my Dr. originally wanted. That cost me even more money that I didn't have. So she told me "Wow I wonder why they would try to switch it as well" She then tells me "I'll take care of this sorry for the inconvenience". Fast forward 16 months and I get a collections letter saying I owe them $114! My CoPay for the CT was $50 and what was actually ordered. This place just took it upon themselves to perform a way more expensive diagnostic exam to make money. So today I got a call from Deanne telling me I need to pay them or else. She proceeded to tell me how much better an MRI is and they were just saving me a trip because Doctors constantly order CT's instead of the more appropriate and spendy MRI. If I had been such a fool to actually get the right imaging I would of just had to come back and get the MRI after all. I am pretty sure my Doctor with 30+ years of experience in the ENT specialty knows what imaging is best not a debt collector. Deanne of course said she had no notes of me contacting them and discussing this matter, but she did have an order for an MRI and that the service was performed. Due to my condition I will need imaging for many years to come and they lost a great deal of future revenue. To end this I said why did you wait almost a year and a half and she said; "to be honest your insurance pays the worst and slowest" Wow what a way to treat people! Stay away!!! read more
