I contacted Andrew at Ray's Solar Fans for a price quote to replace 4 Solar Attic Fans on our home. Andrew responded quickly, came out to take a look and emailed a price quote. Along with the quote he sent the info to help get Hawaii rebates back. He came out over a few days to install them and followed up to confirm all was working perfectly after the first hard rainstorm. I'm very happy with the install and follow up. read more

I found Ray's via Yelp. I completed the online request. After a couple of days without a response, I called the phone number and left a message. Another week goes by without response, so I send an email to the address shown in their website. Again, no response. Then left another phone message, and another email. Altogether, about 3 weeks of complete silence. All I wanted was for someone to sell me and install a replacement solar fan. Despite their nice reviews, I am literally wondering if they still exist. I can understand the reluctance to reply if my job seems too small, too complicated, too far away (Waipahu) or perhaps Andrew (new owner) is on vacation or has a family situation which is interfering, but a quick courtesy response would keep me from posting a bad review...I hate to be doing this, but this is too weird to ignore. read more

Very good company my solar fan died twice and even though numerous years later Ray solar still willing to replace my dead fan motor

Andrew was so nice to work with during the install. I am trying to figure out if this business is still open. I've called and left msgs several times (4 calls, an email and a text over 4 weeks) to have him come look at the fan he installed bc I don't think it is still working. No response at all. He was so nice, I'm thinking the only reason he hasn't contacted me is because he's no longer in business. Does anybody know? The install was a 5 star. The current follow up is 0 stars, which makes me sad to write. Andrew is still in business and as nice as ever!!! Just been sick. He's coming to check my attic fan next week! Thank you Andrew! read more

Andrew did a great job installing a solar attic fan in our home. It was a quicker and smoother install than we imagined, and he explained the current rebate and tax incentives. We noted an immediate difference in indoor temperature in the late afternoon and evening. Mahalo. read more

I was a customer of Ray's solar fan when Ray owned it. Now that I need service for my solar fan, the new owner Andrew avoids my requests. I don't know if he even services and honors solar fans that Ray installed in the past. read more

Sent text and left phone msgs but never got any kind of response I used them when Ray owned the place and got excellent service.

Awesome service from Andrew on my solar attic fan. He installed it a few years back and when the motor recently died, he came to service it for just the labor charge. Super nice and hard working guy. Seems to be a one man shop so it might take a bit for him to get back to you. read more

We have been a customer of Rays Solar Fans for more than 3 years now and dealing with Andrew who is the new owner is wonderful! All we can say is that if you want to deal with someone who is ethical, dependable and always willing to solve your problem he is the one to call for a solar roof fan that is backed by a great warranty as well. The product he sells and installs is a miracle for our house as it removes all the hot air and helps to make our A/C units work more efficiently. If you are looking for ways to save on your A/C bills and to make your house a lot cooler during the summer or hot days, this is the best way to go. Take a look at all his reviews - 5 stars - that is not easy to get nowadays. Mahalo Andrew.... Paul and Anna Goo Manoa read more

I initially purchased a 35w solar attic fan from Ray's 6 years ago. Was very pleased with the efficiency and quiet feature of the unit. It finally stopped working 2 weeks ago. I called Ray's and was told that the fan has a 25 year warranty and I would only pay for labor to restore it. Andrew arrived today and serviced the old fan and installed a new one in another location. I couldn't be more pleased with the value and professionalism from Ray's Solar. Natural Light fans are so effective and quiet. During the daylight hours, I rarely use my AC. read more

Andrew came out to replace two solar attic fans. His communication was excellent. He was on time. Professional. Friendly. Completed the job as promised. Informed us of the federal and state tax rebates, as well as, the Hawaii Energy $75 cash rebate. We would definitely use Ray's Solar Fans again. read more

Andrew is the new-ish owner (maybe 5 years?) and it looks like Ray handed over the baton to someone who is responsible, courteous and takes care of business! Really impressed with the continued communication and great job he did. It doesn't look like he needs any more 5 star reviews but, heck...he's getting another. Many Mahalos Andrew! read more

Made appointment with Andrew, which he called to confirm the appointment on the morning of the repair. Told him the problem and he brought with him two motors that would work. He came on time and went straight to work. He gave me the news about my repair and options. He's a honest young man that is willing to do the work that is necessary. Gave me and price on up grading my solar roof fan with no pressure selling. Will look into saving for upgrade and will call Andrew to install it. Good job Andrew. Keep up the good work and the honest answers to your customers and you'll do well. read more

Great experience with Andrew of Ray's Solar Fans! He was responsive in providing me with a quote. Additionally, he provided me with a schematic of where he would install the fans which I was able to provide for my HOA approval process. Furthermore, Andrew accommodated my scheduling needs and as promised he installed two solar attic fans in the time that he estimated. I highly recommend you reach out to him for your solar attic fan needs! read more

Experience and service started off well but ended dismally. Andrew responded to a request for an estimate within a reasonable amount of time. He was very polite and professional. He was able to come out the next day. When Andrew arrived I explained my roof had very old tile shingles that were in danger of cracking if stepped on. Andrew simply viewed the roof and existing solar fan from his ladder. Because I had said most roofing companies would not repair this type of roof, he said he would check with he'd get back to me after he had a contacted c a couple of roofing companies to ask if they'd take the job. If none would take the job due to the risk, he would do it. He also recommended a larger solar attic fan. Then, silence. After a couple of weeks and no response, I called to ask for status. No response. Left a VM. Waited another week and called again. NO response. Left both my home and cell ph numbers. No response. Unless something has happened to Andrew, this was a terrible way to leave someone hanging. It's ok to say "no". It's not ok to not call back! Very unprofessional. read more

Andrew came to replace a ten year old solar fan motor that was installed by someone else in 2019 and recently installed another solar fan that previously held in a housing on the roof, almost like a cupola a broken noisy industrial fan. The new solar fan has greatly reduced the temperature in the room and is very quiet. He was able to retro fit the large unusual sized opening with some metal grate that looks great. read more

We had a great experience with Andrew (current owner of Ray's Solar Fans). He was very responsive via text/phone. I priced around and spoke with two other companies and really appreciated how Andrew took the time. Price-wise he was about the same as the others but WAY more responsive and just more pleasant to talk to. Andrew was able to replace our fan within 1-2 business days of speaking with him for the first time. We were happy and eager to get the job done ASAP. The job took about 1 hour, he informed us of the different tax credits and available rebates, and told us to call if any problems arise and what to look/ listen for. We would 100% recommend Andrew of Ray's Solar Fans. He has little to no social media presence, for now. Hope he gets that going so everyone can know he's out there and how AWESOME he and his company is. read more

We only have positive remarks for Andrew, his communications and services rendered. Our highest recommendation to others whether you are considering new or reservicing of existing fans. And we are also very glad that Natural Light Solar Attic Fans are used (they come with a 25 year warranty). Our house has five solar fans and three needed attention. The larger one in the living room was fully replaced and the other two were refurbished with all new parts. Our hats off to Andrew and Ray's Solar Fans! read more

Man oh man what a service! Toyed with the idea of doing the install myself, but called Ray on a Monday during the heat of summer to see what he could provide, chatted for 10 minutes about everything including the tax breaks that come along with it. Told me he'd put me on the calendar with Andrew, his lead installer, at first availability and received a call that afternoon. Within 24 hours my Palolo home had a fully functional attic fan which seriously is a must have for any house. Dropped my mid day attic temp from 130F to 100F, and mid day internal home temp from 85F to 78F. Bummed I didn't get an install sooner! Do the math, it's way more convenient and cost effective to call Ray. Plus 25 years of warranty ain't too shabby. Mahalo guys! read more

Highly recommend Ray's Solar for your solar fan services. Andrew helped with replacing a damaged fan motor installed by another company. After 8 years my solar attic fan stopped working so I called the new owner Andrew Alarcio. He arrived precisely on time, expertly and cheerfully explained what he was going to do as he was setting up the ladder. 20 minutes later the fan was replaced, working and covered by the 25 year warranty. Andrew was also as nice a person as you could meet - cheerful, polite, friendly and very bright. What a pleasure to have someone like him working on my home. read more

First, I have to start my review giving Andrew a thousand stars! He was awesome! He literally just left my house and I wanted to make sure I did this review before I forgot. My appointment was originally for 10:00, but Andrew called to apologize because he was running behind on his current project and said he would try to arrive between 11-11:30, he arrived later than that but called to let me know he was 10 minutes out. He apologized once again when he arrived and got right to work swapping out the motor. I asked him how much it would cost before he started and he said there would just be a charge for the service call. After he completed the repair he informed me that because I was so patience with him and all the delays, he wasn't going to bill me for the service call which I totally wasn't expecting but am very appreciative of. Ray originally installed my solar fan years ago and I still remember how nice he was and I'm glad to see the tradition is continuing with Andrew. So, if you are in need of an solar fan installation or repair, this is the company to go with! read more

Reliable, knowledgeable, and great service on replacing my attic fan motor. Solar Attic fans makes a noticeable difference in cooling my upstairs. Thanks Andrew read more

Someone had mentioned Ray's Solar Fans so I quickly went online and read his reviews on Yelp. They were all very positive with 5 stars so I called him right away to make an appointment. Ray was very responsive throughout the entire process. Whether you called him on his mobile or emailed him, he would get back to you right away. I probably asked him a million questions about the process, the fan itself and he clearly explained everything over the phone and/or through email. I scheduled an appointment for a week or so later since the house was getting tented for termites. He said it would be better to do it after the termite tenting. Over the phone, he mentioned that he's never late and it's true. In fact, he exceeded expectations by coming earlier than the scheduled time and got straight to work. He took a quick look inside and went on the roof to install the attic fan. He told my mother that he would install the fan so that it could pull the hot air throughout the house, which meant a few more holes to be drilled. My mother asked him if the holes would cause the roof to leak. He assured her that this wouldn't be the case and mentioned his experience in installing over thousands of attic fans. He finished the job in less than an hour, provided the warranty papers and was on his way. Ray is very friendly, responsive and knowledgeable when it comes to the solar attic fans. You can't go wrong with Ray. I highly recommend Ray if you need to install or repair a solar attic fan. read more

Ray did an excellent job helping us with replacing our solar fan. Our fan went out and the quote by the prior installer left us speechless. Not only did Ray let us know exactly what we needed, he came back and quickly saved us with an installation that was very professional and affordable. It's truly a blessing not only to finally deal with a company that cares, but also to not worry about the coming summer heat build up in our house. I highly recommend this company to anyone that has been disillusioned by the service or quotes they have received by other companies. read more

This is the second solar attic fan installed by by Ray's, owned by Andrew Alarcio. Both my prior fans were on the fritz - 1st was in an open ceiling area 2 years ago and now in an attic ceiling area. Andrew is personable, responsive, and does a good job at a reasonable price, within the estimated time frame - in this case a little over 2 hours. The product, Natural Light Solar Attic Fan is guarateed for 25 years and if needs replacement, Andrew will service for very reasonable fee. I would like to echo many of the positive comments about Ray and the service he provides. Ray is simply what everyone wants in a contractor, he is prompt, professional, delivers as promised, and his work exceeds expectations. Unfortunately, having dealt with different contractors in other trades recently, this kind of treatment and service is no longer the norm, so I commend him that his services and approach are excellent and unique nowadays. I know that sales must be made, and no one does a professional service for free. Ray has the professional integrity to be honest with what he plans on doing. He freely gives advice on low cost or free ways to improve the cooling situation. Someone else noted that he could make way more money, charging for unnecessary things or items. He advised me away from doing certain things because it wouldn't improve the situation, even if it meant he wouldn't be making more money. He has the customer's best interest in mind as well as being an excellent technician, and that is why I am so satisfied. My highest recommendation! read more

Had a solar attic fan installed by Ray. Out of 3 companies he was the only one who returned my calls. Appointment made for 2 days after phone call. Installation took about 60 minutes as promised. Fan has a 25 year warranty and Ray will personally take care of the motor if it ever goes screwy. Made a big difference in the temperature of my house in the hot afternoon. He takes credit cards and has installed well over 1600 fans in the 7 years he has been in business. Has an "A" rating on the Hawaii BBB website. read more

Ray is professional, responsive, and very friendly. I know he has been busy this summer with how hot it's been but he was still able to schedule our fan installation very quickly after we contacted him. He removed our old, rusty, fan and installed the new solar fan without any issues. The fan looks great on our roof and our house feels 10 degrees cooler! Ray took the extra time to clean everything up after installing so, aside from the new fan, we couldn't tell any work had been done at the house. He only installs Natural Light Solar Fans which are top of the line and even have a 25yr warranty. We will definitely be recommending Ray to all our friends! read more

It was smooth going, all the way. Andrew answered all my questions, provided me with technical info and tax info, and came on time! He explained the fan itself, educated me about the choice of location, and installed the fan securely. I am so pleased! read more

I had 3 solar fans installed over the last 9 years: kitchen, hallway bathroom and living room. I wanted 3 more but Ray said with the smaller master bedroom bathroom & enclosed lanai the solar fan would be too big for a small space then it would be too loud. The den is close to the back door and lanai door so not necessary. Ray was knowledgeable in letting me know what were better cooling options with other companies. I also like how Ray and Andrew would bring and replace motors by charging a small service fee so customers don't have to deal with warranty calls to mainland importer, wait 2-3 weeks for delivery and then find a handyman to do the labor. Last TH Andrew came to replace 2 fans with only one service charge fee of $45. Between lunch and dinner, the sunlight is so intense the kitchen & living room fan blades were spinning so fast no wonder the motors wear out in 5 years. . . feels 15-20 degrees cooler with both fans working again. Never had mold problem in the large bathroom ever since solar fan was put in. read more

I called Ray to repair my mother's attic fan. I left a message and he called back the same day.
