Ordered the abongdigas soup Togo and it was a solid choice. The guy was super nice and gave me a complimentary soda for the long wait.

I love Ray's, and we can't get enough! The $19.99 carnitas family meal is serious bang for your buck. The rolled tacos are fresh, crispy, meaty, and delicious every time. And the carne asada fries, don't even get me started. While they aren't the biggest carne asada fries, they stuff the box box to the brim, and they DO NOT skimp on the carne. I'd love for them to add a third, extra spicy salsa, but maybe that's just me. Don't sleep on this little taco shop next to a Laundromat. Enjoy my friends!

I ordered today for catering and I would highly recommend it- you'll never disappoint!! I talked to Robert, he was happy to explain the menu, helped with suggestions and offered some treat for testing. I wish took a pic of the fish tacos, they were so good!! Will definitely use them for business again.

Breakfast burrito with potato, rice, beans, eggs, cheese. Eggs cooked perfectly. The beans are packed with flavor, and I'm hesitant to add beans to breakfast burrito, but I trusted the chef. The rice through me off, but worked well and added that extra starch flavor. Red salsa is mild-hot and compliments burrito.

Just an okay place. Not amazing, but not bad either. I got the Quesadilla with carne asada. The meat was really good and they gave me a lot, but they skimped out on the amount of cheese inside. Kinda weird considering most places do the opposite. The overcooked my tortilla too because parts of it were really hard and inedible. What I didn't like was the guacamole. It was just avocado and I could tell by the taste that it wasn't very fresh. I hate getting nonfresh ingredients especially when I'm paying extra for it. The salsa also wasn't my favorite. Even if I'm in the area, I probably wouldn't come back here. It's a decent place, but nothing that made me go "wow!" Although the food as leftovers wasn't bad.

    Chile relleno

If I could do negative stats, I would. Taco Bell is more authentic than this place. I have never had worst Mexican food. I was craving some beef tamales and I got some store bought, frozen, ground beef tamales. Covered in cheese and canned enchilada sauce. What?! A, no where in the menu does it say it's going to be drenched in this sauce. B, if I wanted frozen tamales I could have gone to 7/11. C, I also ordered a chile relleno meal with rice and beans. No rice and beans were in my order. The chile relleno was also covered in cheese and that canned enchilada sauce. Not a Chile relleno. Who made these recipes and called Mexican food? Do not go here, go literally anywhere else.

This is the best Mexican in San Diego. Homemade food with flavors like no where else. Very casual dining and the owners always take care of their customers. I love the vibes and the plants! If you are looking for a new taco shop - look no further. Get their surf and turf burrito. It is the best. Next time I want to try the carnitas special!

#3 cheese enchiladas chicken taco combo.

The food is delicious. Truly authentic Mexican. The vibe is peaceful. The owner is such a Goodman I've seen him feed the homeless numerous times. I love this place.

There's only street parking nearby so it can be tricky to find parking depending on the time and day. There's plenty of outside and inside seating and you can find a seat after placing your order at the counter. Ambience reminds me of a small fish market. I asked her what she wanted and she said, "seafood", so I immediately thought of Blue Water, and we drove right over. We parked at a metered spot nearby & walked in at 5pm. Do note that there is no dedicated parking for Blue Water, so at busy times it may be tricky to find a spot, but we had no trouble today. In the main dining ordering area & on the side patio, there were a few tables that were occupied, but there was no ordering line. All of us wanted shrimp today apparently, so my dad and I both got a shrimp taco with lemon garlic butter & my hungry mom got the shrimp platter also with lemon garlic butter. The platter came with 8 shrimp, jasmine rice, and a lovely, fresh garden salad. The server who took our order and brought it out to us was very helpful & nice. They have a ton of fresh seafood on offer though so if shrimp is not your thing, there will likely be another delightful offering from the sea that will suit your fancy. We sat in the side patio area and it was very pleasant. We enjoyed our experience this evening very much! The tacos were big and had more than 5 shrimp in them, plus cabbage, pico, cheddar cheese & white sauce. One taco was pretty decently sized. If I'd been hungrier, two tacos would've been perfect, but today, I was happy with one taco. Yum! Mom enjoyed her platter. It was beautifully prepared. Blue Water also has a decent soft drink selection and beers and wine, but we all just had their water and it was very refreshing! :) By the time we left at 5:45, a line was forming out the door, so we really came out at a good time. Peace!

However, when we walked in, we weren't greeted by the host and ended up waiting about ten minutes in an almost empty restaurant before being seated. We were close to walking out at that point. We dined as a group of two adults, a child, and an infant. I do want to give credit where it's due since they were very accommodating for kids. They provided a booster seat and also gave us something to securely hold our infant's car seat, which we really appreciated. The restaurant isn't specifically geared toward families, but they made it feel kid-friendly, which ended up being one of the highlights of our visit. Service was a bit uneven. Our waitress seemed flustered and forgot to put in our appetizer order, which was disappointing. That said, she did bring out our child's meal first, which was a thoughtful touch since kids don't like to wait. As for the food, it was good but not particularly memorable. We ordered a combo platter with asparagus, as well as swordfish with Brussels sprouts and mac and cheese. Everything was decent, but nothing really stood out except the bread. In fact, my husband makes better Brussels sprouts and swordfish at home. Overall, there were some positives, especially the kid-friendly accommodations, but the service hiccups and average food mean we're on the fence about returning.

Arrived around 5:15pm, and there wasn't a line, but the restaurant had a good amount of diners. Pretty good ventilation at the front of the restaurant, but the back part of the restaurant, likely the overflow room was where my family and I were seated. It had a funky smell to the area and there was poor ventilation. I wanted to step out but I refrained. Everything felt stuffy in that section. The only nice person was the male staff member at the front for checkin. The rest of the staff were not very friendly. The hostess who walked us to our table was not very friendly and just rushed things. Took our drink orders, and didn't say much. Just walked off. I was surprised to see the pitchers with the beverages were sitting on top of a counter outside where customers are, without any lids. Anyone can just walk by and touch or spit in them. Thought that was not very hygienic... Different sections of food. I never expect food at buffets to be of good quality or taste excellent, so the food items were all mediocre. The teppanyaki grill was... well, let's just say they use the same spatula for everyone's entreés. You load up your plate and the cook throws everything on the grill. Uses the same spatulas to cook everyone's food. If you have allergies or sensitivity to spice, then probably avoid this section. He cooked the meat for someone else's plate and then touched the veggies for the other. Used mod spice level sauce for one, and then same spatula on my entreé. My order was non-spicy, but it had a kick since the neighboring sauce got onto my stir fry. Dessert section isn't even labeled.... meaning, the baked/dessert items aren't labeled other than the gelato flavors. Crab legs were very salty. Lobster claws in the cold section were OK though. The warm lobster they serve is limited to 1 per person per serving. Long line, and if they run out, you have to wait or return when they serve again. People were waiting in line while eating their food... the lobsters are tiny, dry, and with very little meat. It is definitely not worth paying the extra for lobster night. The amount of waiting time is ridiculous and there is no guarantee that you can even get a lobster. Some groups have 1 person waiting in line and then when it is their turn, the rest of the group members (5-7) cut the whole line to each get a lobster. I was trying to get 1 for my mother, and I didn't get to eat one, but didn't mind since it didn't even look good. Rest of the foods were mediocre too. I had 1 plate that wasn't even full... lost my appetite. Wouldn't return. Hygiene.... cross contamination... Some people say this place is like the old Pala casino buffet or Las Vegas buffet- definitely not the case. Parking can be compact. Gets busy around 5:45p it seems as more people were waiting in the lobby.

I don't recall if I was prompted to add avocado, but the $3 up charge for half an avocado was fair. We also ordered a shrimp ceviche tostada ($7) and an Ensenada/ battered fish taco ($4.50). The ceviche was rather fresh with crunchy bits of pico and the blue corn tostada was a unique creative touch, adding more depth of flavor. The fish taco was perhaps the best I've had! Super cheap at $4.50 and still loaded. Batter wasn't overwhelming and fried to perfection, crunch ever present. They do have drinks available with an extra large, 22oz, Modelo at $9 being a great value. I do not recommend the Mango Margarita ($10.50) though. This was ESPECIALLY sweet and somehow the alcohol concentrates at the bottom, stirring constantly absolutely required. Perhaps better to pay in cash as they do have a 3% credit card surcharge which I feel like I wasn't very aware of because I would have otherwise paid in cash. Other than that slight, I can 100% recommend for the mariscos which is top tier.
