I would like to share my feedback regarding my first visit with my new primary care physician, Dr. Raymond Bailey. Dr. Bailey was truly excellent. He took a significant amount of time to thoroughly review my past medical history as well as my current health concerns. I greatly appreciated that he listened carefully, asked thoughtful questions, and conducted a proper, hands-on examination rather than rushing through the appointment. His approach was professional, attentive, and reassuring, which immediately gave me confidence in his care. In addition, the entire staff and clinical team were outstanding. Everyone was kind, responsive, and easy to reach, which made the whole experience smooth and stress-free. From scheduling to the visit itself, the level of professionalism and courtesy was exceptional. The overall environment of the practice was warm, welcoming, and very well organized. I felt comfortable, respected, and genuinely cared for throughout my visit. I honestly could not ask for more. This was one of the best primary care experiences I have had, and I am very grateful to Dr. Bailey and his entire team. read more

Dr. Bailey is great. He is attentive, kind, takes time, thorough, and overall a good doctor. Unfortunately I stopped going to him as of today. His staff and billing are unhelpful, rude, and greedy. My insurance includes a free an annual wellness physical exam checkup, whatever you want to call it. Last year and this year I was charged $60. Julie tells me that it wasn't an annual wellness physical exam checkup because I have high blood pressure, so it is an office visit. I said, we didn't even discuss high blood pressure! She said very rudely, Im not arguing with you this is how it is. I said so unless you are a patient with perfect health, there is no such thing as an annual wellness physical exam checkup? She said yes thats correct. I said that is ridiculous because... that is ridiculous. I have had high blood pressure for 20 years and havent had to come out of pocket for my annual exam. Finally, I then said listen, I am your long time patient and I am asking you a favor to help - you get paid by the insurance company anyway - please just help me out to save $60, it will take you literally a minute. She said "no and if you have to switch doctors we understand, best of luck". I will miss Raymond Bailey, and I get that $60 is peanuts, but its the principle of the matter. read more

Raymond Bailey was my doctor for 5 years. I had ONE physical, didn't get friendly vibes from him as a new patient, and he discharged me because I criticized his staff for neglect. Here's a good story: back in October I had a fever that wouldn't break and felt pretty ill. Tried to see him, and his staff told me I had to wait over two weeks which would've meant November. Is he on vacation? Not considerate enough to book time to see emergency? His staff quipped to me, "well, you know you really should go to the ER if you feel bad..." I told her not to patronize me with smarmy comments, and critiqued her office for not sending me test results from over a year ago. Flash forward to today where I've been having chest pain for a little while... scheduled a physical this morning and got called back at noon that bailey discharged me in October. Thanks for the heads up! They couldn't have told me this between the 9 months so I could find a new doctor? Here's another good story: had an echocardiogram back in 2020 and Bailey said he'd call me with the results. I forgot about it, and called him over a YEAR later... he told me they forgot to call me as well. Who forgets to call their patient about a heart scan when they're having chest pain?! Here's my review for you: Insincere, rude staff. Dr. Bailey is one of the nicest and best drs in the valley. He has seen my husband and mother for care. He is very polite and professional! Not sure what all these other bad reviews are all about. RUN from this Doctor!! I received his name from my gynecologist and was excited to meet him and have him as my primary care physician for years to come. Unfortunately, my first appointment with Dr Bailey was AWFUL. Actually, it didn't happen because I waited an hour to be seen. Once he finally entered the room, I kindly asked if this was a normal wait time and instead of answering he said he didn't want to accept me as his patient and walked out of the room. Shocking. My husband has seen Dr. Bailey for more than 20 years. He didn't always go for annual physicals so his meds would run out. This last time he went for a physical however the doctor never called to give him the results of his bloodwork or prescribe medications. My husband thought he must not need them any more as he lost a lot of weight and had been exercising regularly. That is until he went to the dentist and they refused to move forward with a crown prep because they said his blood pressure was dangerously high. He called Dr Bailey's office and got an appointment. It was at this appt that my husband thought he heard the doctor tell him he wasn't going to practice medicine any longer and my husband needed to find a new doctor. He gave my husband medication for blood pressure but unbeknownst to him did not give him refills. The meds ran out and the doctor refused to give him a refill or return his call. Even if my husband understood that he needed to find a new doctor 30 days is not a lot of time to get appointments to meet and find a new doctor. Most have months of waiting time for an appointment. Who would just dump a patient after 20 years without making sure the patient, whose first language is not English, understood what was happening. He never came out and said I don't want you as a patient anymore because my husband thought he was retiring. He didn't give my husband his medical records or explain him how to get them and gave him no referrals to other doctors he could research. Now my husband has no blood pressure medication or any of the meds he was taking previously and no doctor to visit for a new prescription. It's shameful that a person who swore an oath to help has turned his back on an elderly patient that never once said anything unkind or raised his voice or did anything but feel grateful for the care he received. I just hope his blood pressure doesn't kill him before he can find a new doctor. It's very upsetting that this doctor would turn his back on my husband without ensuring he understood what was happening and provide referrals or at least refills while looked for a new doctor. He just turned his back on him. He won't return his phone calls and denied refills to the pharmacy. Shameful after 20 years. read more

Dr Bailey was my doctor for nearly 20 years. Over the past 5 years or so, he has become increasingly combative, forgetful, and is wholly unfit to continue his practice, having the same conversations every visit, completely forgetting major facts of my health diagnosis the HE HIMSELF diagnoseand refusing treatment for even the most basic needs. Last week, I was in a car crash that nearly took my life. Luckily, I didn't require an ER but went to urgent care and they were reluctant to treat me because of the nature of my crash. I went to Dr Bailey because he is my primary care provider. I described the troubles I was having, both psychological and physical, asking him for the most basic service of a PCP, the doctors note, excusing me from work for a few days while I sort out my treatments and recover from the trauma of my crash. He refused treatment, unwilling to X-ray or even examine me, became combative and told me to get over it, he's not a therapist. Raymond Bailey was once a good doctor but like many of the reviews say, he's changed very much, possibly unwell mentally/physically and certainly unfit to continue practicing medicine. Do the community a favor and hang up the stethoscope. It's not fair to your patients to treat them this way. read more

I was absolutely shocked by Dr. Bailey. To say that Dr. Bailey was unprofessional, disrespectful, and rude would be a tremendous, tremendous understatement. I cannot believe a medical professional would act in such a manner -- my experience with Dr. Bailey was the far and away the worst experience I have ever had with a medical professional. My experience with Dr. Bailey was clearly not unique -- see his other reviews. To be clear, I have immense respect for medical professionals as I am a cancer survivor who received excellent medical care from a number of doctors, nurses, and medical assistants. read more

The last year and a half, I've been lucky if I could get my voicemails heard to make an appointment, and on the rare occasion when I do get a call back they're always super rude. I've been seeing Dr. Bailey for almost 2 years. I've been on the same two medications - one for 3 years and one for 12 years - and when he claimed to have a hard time filling one of my prescriptions, I was told to find a pharmacy that carried it (it is a controlled substance and pharmacies do not give this information out to patients). It's now been 3 months and I just received a voicemail saying Dr. Bailey will no longer fill my prescriptions and to find a new doctor. I've also been receiving ear lavages for years and they've never successfully performed one since I've been going. I DO NOT RECOMMEND. I've never been treated so poorly by a general practitioner. read more

TLDR: WARNING! Extremely hostile doctor who refuses treatment to anyone who is neurodivergent and/or takes ritilin, concerta, or adderall. I won't beat around the bush here. Dr. Raymond Bailey basically calls patients with ADHD drug addicts and refuses treatment. I came in for a basic check up, physical, and to ask about getting my prescription for Concerta (ritilin) renewed because I've been struggling without it for years due to insurance issues. The moment I told Dr. Bailey that I wanted to get a prescription for concerta he went off on a rant about how addictive it is, how he can't trust every patient asking for it because they could be drug addicts, and so on and so forth. I told him my prior physician (Dr. Darryl Balin) would prescribe me two months of Concerta at a time and that he could get my charts from Dr. Balin and my pedeatric doctor since I have been taking ritilin since I was seven years old and he (Dr. Bailey) outright refused--STILL!--to help. He painted me as a drug addict or a criminal trying to get an illegal prescription when in fact I have documented proof that I need this prescription for school and have a proven diagnosis of severe ADHD. He is the absolute worst physician I have ever met and I would encourge prospective patients to look elsewhere. The nursing staff was phenomenal and very kind to me but the bigoted old man they work for is horribly discriminatory and doesn't understand that you do not cure neurodivergencies and that masking is not the answer to going without a prescription. read more

I write this review with some hesitation because I am very reluctant to bad mouth anyone or any business. This is that exception. I went in this morning for a "meet and greet" as I'm looking for a new primary care doctor. Without going into the details, all I can say that in my 70 years I have never met such a rude, disrespectful, unpleasant, untruthful doctor. We did agree on one thing, though. He is helping me get in shape and was a kind and patient doctor with excellent bedside manner . I have referred other patients and friends to him and all have had great experiences . Saw Dr Bailey for a pre surgical clearance. He came highly recommended from my plastic surgeon. And my surgeon was right . He was very thorough and professional. Asked all the right questions and didn't rush thru the exam at all. Would heartily recommend to anyone! The 3 stars is a combo for the office and doctor, if I could give his office staff a rating it would be 1 star but I don't feel like that would be fair to the doctor. I went here for the first time about a month ago for a physical. The doctor was through and had good bedside manner. I didn't really have any issues to discuss so I'm not sure how he would handle a patient with multiple things to discuss. I waited about 20 min to see the doctor this visit. I called on a Monday morning for a same day visit, he did not have any for that day and they couldn't get me in until 4 pm the following day. When I arrived on time for my appointment, the receptionist did not greet me, I waited for 5 minutes and announced myself. Then I continued to wait and wait...asked the receptionist about how much longer and she said another 15-20 min. Waiting for close to an hour to see a doctor when you had an appointment scheduled is kinda ridiculous. When I told the receptionist that i couldn't wait anymore she had the most blank/stupid look on her face like she could care less. So then I took it farther...said I would be looking for a new doctor. Again, the stupid blank look. She had no words. She could care less, I was shocked. If you can deal with an office that has a dumb lazy receptionist then this is the place for you. A smart doctor should be smart enough to hire a smart/non lazy receptionist so maybe he's not as smart as I though he was. read more

I'm not one to write reviews but I had to say something. I've been looking for a new primary care doctor so went in for an appointment. After asking how he could help me he bluntly asked "are you gay, straight, or what". Then after reviewing my medications I'm on he told me I "clearly have psychiatric issues" and that people just are "are always committing suicide on these pills". I told him it wasn't going to be a good match and walked out. I have never been spoken to SO rudely by anyone let alone a medical doctor. Overall horrible experience. Don't go here if you want to be treated like a human. read more

If you care about your health and how you are treated as a person- do not go to this office. I can't express this enough. I will clarify that this review does not apply to the young lady who helped me book my appointment. She was lovely and very helpful and made me feel like this office would be great. Long story--I had an appointment at 11am. Office was running late (understandably for a doctors office). Asked for an update 20 minutes into waiting so I could let my boss know I'd be late back to work. Nurse (Laura) got annoyed and refused to let me be seen (after already being rude and eventually yelling) when it was my turn. It's literally as simple and as INSANE as that. There was no yelling on my part or name calling or anything. I was just trying to figure out if they had a time frame for when I would be seen so I could update my boss. That. Is. It. Another patient in the office who saw what happened, followed me out to make sure I was okay after I left crying because I was humiliated and in pain (hence me being at the doctors office). I fasted all day per the offices request. Waited a month to see the doctor. And was turned away by a woman who was having a bad day and irritated that I asked for an update on my appointment time. I won't even get into her yelling in the office and humiliating me in the waiting room. I spoke with the doctor after over the phone to let him know what happened (he compared me based on his nurses description---to someone waiting for a reservation at a restaurant and took it personally against HIM as a doctor that I was having an issue with his nurse). The only props this doctor gets is that he called me back. I have already filed a grievance against the office. That's how serious this is. Turning away a patient who is simply trying to figure out how much longer it will take is absurd and dangerous to the patients health. read more

I called the office Mid October to schedule my husband, A NEW PATIENT, for the first available morning appointment which wasn't till a month out. The lady on the phone took a while but collected my husband's info from me and also asked for a good email address where she could send the new patient forms to be filled out prior to his appointment. I called the office the day before the appointment to confirm my husband's appointment and after being put on hold multiple times I was told that not only does he NOT have an appointment scheduled, but he doesn't even exist in their system. I was livid. I was told that they have a full schedule that day and that he couldn't be seen. My husband had already cleared his work schedule from a month before to make himself available for this appointment. I expressed that this was unprofessional and was told that the office manager would contact me in 15 minutes. 2 hours go by and I call the office again only to be put on hold. Julie, the office manager, picks up the line and starts to scold me on my tone and behavior towards the staff. There was no apology for their mistake and ZERO accommodation for a potential new patient entering their practice. I was told that this was not a good fit and that I should find another office to go to. WOW so much for customer service or LACK THEREOF!! Stay away from this office. I'm not sure how the dr is but if he deals with the staff I dealt with a couple of days ago then that's a tell of his character as well! read more

Dr. Bailey, My appt. with you yesterday was one of the most disturbing and upsetting experiences I have had in a long time. You were most unkind and uncaring when you bluntly said, "You have Diabetes". You were more concerned about being right and mistook my shock and dismay as a personal affront to your knowledge, so unprofessional! You were rude and dismissive too. Dr. Bailey has been my Doctor for several years and I trust him to the degree that he is taking care of all my family and some of my friends. He is thorough ,professional and knowledgeable as well as being a very nice person. I have never before been treated so inappropriately by a Doctor in my life! When I call to discuss tests that were taken, he doesn't call me back for 4 months. The last time I called to leave a message, his office person put me through to him, and he said, "So you think it's ok to call me during the day while my other patients have to wait,while I discuss your health??" Dr. Bailey has taken care of me twice. First for a sick visit and then for a full check up. He was thorough and had a great bedside manner. He listened to me as well. He followed up with great suggestions for managing my medication. He is cautious in the use of any drugs and is up on the latest, to minimize side effects. Dr. Bailey has been my physician for several years and now my parents and mother-in-law also go to him. He spends a lot of time with his patients and listents to what they have to say. He is very knowledgeable and thorough. Both my parents and I would only see physicians on the Westside, but Dr. Bailey has become the exception. I cannot tell you if this man is a good doctor or not, but I can say that he is the most unprofessional physician I have ever encountered. We got an appointment for a first time visit for the purpose of simply getting a referral to a neurologist for my friend, who has MS. We told this in advance to his office staff and they never said a word about his policies. His policy is NOT TO TREAT PATIENTS WITH MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS! I rolled my friend in, in her wheelchair, and he took one look at her, and said, right in front of her, "Does she have MS?" and we said, yes, and he said, "I don't treat people with MS" and we had to turn around and leave! Much time and trouble is invested in getting a disabled person to the doctor and he could care less. We were shocked. No one told us this when we made the appointment. He could have easily given us the referral for her, but his main concern was to get us out of there as soon as possible so he would not have to view her condition. What does the Hippocratic Oath mean? Do no harm? This is the craziest thing we had ever experienced at a doctor's office. We complained to the office staff as we were leaving and they shrugged and said absolutely nothing. It is disgraceful to treat people like that. read more

Dr. Bailey is one of the best Internists I have ever had! I have been his patient for many, many years and he has seen me through a ton of medical problems. He is caring, kind, super smart and a great diagnostician. You may wait a little but it's because he spends so much time with his patients out of true care and concern. You are never rushed when you are with him and he listens better than any other doctor I have ever had. I love Laura his nurse who has been there forever. She is fun and kind and also really smart. I look forward to going to see Dr. Bailey because I feel at home there. The front office staff has changed often in the last couple of years, but who cares when the doctor and nurse in your room are the best! I have never had a problem getting in when I was sick and he sees me right away. Also I now have all my other specialists which were referrals from Dr. Bailey and I love each and every one of them. It's surprising how many people will take their clothes off for just anyone. You have a choice - Doctors work for you and you have the right to find one you feel comfortable with. That is Dr. Bailey! I did a lot of research finding a doctor. After reading various reviews for the Doctors preferred by my insurance company, I choose Dr. Bailey. I am very pleased with my decision. I wrote something very insignificant on my entry paperwork and he asked me about it. How refreshing - he actually read what I wrote! Just like the previous post says, he has a great bedside manor, asked thorough questions, and HE FOLLOWED UP with a phone call with the results of my physical. I have no idea where this guy went to school or did his residency but what I can tell you that if I was one of his patients, I would start searching for a new primary care doc. He has been our mother's doctor for a while now. About a week ago, she wasn't feeling well, had a cold, bloated feet, trouble breathing, etc. Visited his office, they took x-rays, blood work and the usual check-ups. Despite many calls made to his office by our Mom, our cousin and brother'n-law who are also physicians, my sister and of course my mother, no response re what the x-ray showed, the results from the blood work, etc. Last Friday, she was taken to the emergency room and hospitalized and has Congestive Heart Failure, fluid in her lungs, very high blood pressure and heart rate. So this idiot doctor didn't notice any of this when he checked her out...really bloated feet is a simple indication of fluid retention...checking her lungs would have indicated, fluid build-up...total negligence and incompetence on his part. He sucks as a doctor and if we will be filing a complaint with the appropriate authorities in the State of California. He could have killed our mother for his lack of attention and lack of care. i read more

Dr. Bailey has been my family Physician for many years, and he is the best, most professional, and truly caring Doctor! I actually enjoy going to the Doctor because of all my positive experiences with Dr. Bailey and his very friendly office staff. (Laura, the nurse, is wonderful and so sweet....painless injections and blood draws too). He is also my Mom's Doctor, and he successfully helped her through a serious health event. I trust Dr. Bailey and can attest from personal experience that he is an exceptionally talented physician with impeccable bedside manner. He takes time with his patients, is very informative, writes detailed notes, and follows up promptly with lab results. I tend to ask a lot of questions and he is always patient with me. He is also excellent at medicine management. My Mom and I are so loyal to Dr. Bailey and refer our friends and family members to his office. Dr. Bailey is an amazing physician with keen diagnostic skills. After being dismissed by ER attendants as simply suffering back pain due to over exertion, I followed up with Dr. Bailey. He was kind and thorough in his examination of me. He truly listened as I described my symptoms, and I found his bedside manner to be a welcome change from other doctors who barely make eye contact while jotting notes in my file. He told me his first instinct was kidney issues, and he was right. He immediately referred me for testing and set me on the road to proper treatment. Part of that treatment required being admitted to the hospital for a two week stay. Dr. Bailey stayed in close contact with each specialist working with me and even came to visit me in the hospital. Now in the follow up stages, he remains ever thoughtful and just as thorough. If not for Dr. Bailey, I could have faced a much more daunting fate. I am so thankful to have him as a partner in my healthcare. read more

After being a patient of Dr. Baileys for about 10 years I visited his office yesterday at the directive of my pain mgmt. dr, Dr. Morgan. I needed a referral and letter for physical therapy which I was trying to move locally, as I have been going to p.t. in 1000 Oaks and the drive was too much for my ongoing back issues. He acted very suspicious, and treated me like a criminal. Asked me what I was trying to "get". I told him I was only looking for a local referral and that after being his patient for nearly 10 years he should know me by now. I have only ever rec'd sick care and physicals from him, you know, perhaps antibiotics and an asthma meds. now I'm being treated like I'm Dr. shopping. When I told him how I felt, he simply glared at me. Needless to say, I will not go back. There was no compassion for my ongoing (2 years now) back issues nor one speck of concern that I was feeling left out on a limb, alone in trying to seek care. read more
