I went to Dr. Malyon for a third, yes 3rd opinion about my cavity diagnosis... The first dentist I…read morewent to claimed I had eleven cavities that needed filling immediately. So I went to a second dentist, and he claimed I had two or three cavities. To be safe, I decided to seek a third opinion. Sure enough, Dr. Malyon's diagnosis matched with the second dentist's diagnosis. Malyon said I have two cavities that need filling (one of my cavities was already filled by the second dentist, I'm coming back for the other two later). So overall, it seems like Malyon and my second dentist are both accurate and honest dentists. They don't try to bill unnecessary work and remove natural teeth material when it's not necessary. The first dentist was definitely extremely aggressive on the other hand, potentially even just interested in making money. I'm going to stick with the second dentist since I already had one filling done by him, if I came to Malyon first I would have chosen to stay with his office. Both of these two dentists were great. Malyon's office isn't anything fancy, it's simple and basic, but I'd rather choose a dentist who is experienced and cares about your best interests rather than an office that tries to impress you with glamorous massage chairs and a fancy office. Thanks Malyon!

He has a quiet room so that we could be separated from the other patients as to not disturb them when my very young son was literally freaking out in the dental chair. Less than 2 years into our relationship, my son had an accident on his scooter where he needed a partial root canal. Children's Hospital could not get him in for the procedure (in order to completely knock him out) for 9 months so Dr. Dave agreed to "give it a try" in order to try and save the tooth by having the procedure done as soon as possible. We were successful! 10 years later, my son goes to see the dentist like any other kid would. The crown that came with the partial root canal has stood the test of time. If I could give a lower review , I would !…read more I came here for a sore tooth . Dr Florencio saw me as a new patient, and though I was providing context for her , she looked irritated and rushed . She diagnosed a small filling , but had no time to fix it . I paid for that visit and had to come back days later and pay again for her to fix it . she used an appliance to open my jaw called a "bite block" . Unforgettable was unable to numb my tooth - this has never been the case for me with any other dentist . She injected 3 times , leaving and coming back later I was there with jaw wide open . Impatiently she drilled away while I was feeling the electrifying pain .. I felt like she was thinking there's something wrong with me ! I involuntarily jerked from pain while her bite block forced my jaw wide open . Few days later I developed jaw pain and stiffness - NEVER had I had any jaw problems in my life . So I came back to her to consult about this - she checked the bite and told me to give it time and admitted she doesn't know anything about or treat TMJ patients , but I would have to make another appointment for a "full exam" and she can refer me to a TMJ specialist to treat this condition . My jaw progressively got worse to the point that my jaw been locked for weeks !!! My insurance doesn't cover "TMJ" and I have had to pay $370 for one visit with my old dentist Dr Ghorbani who was SO MUCH more knowledge about the mouth and the joint the teeth sit on ! Gave me Rx for anti inflammatories and muscle relaxant . I suffered much and could not open my mouth to eat properly ... finally I paid another $350 to see a TMJ specialist who confidently told me I don't have TMJ disease and this was the direct result of Dr Florencio's procedure and prolonged jaw opening . During this ordeal , I lost 10 lb ! What got me most is that this dentist missed the diagnosis, opportunity to manage and educate me as patient about jaw strain initialing , teach me about stretches I could have done before the jaw seized and prevent what happened . And to top it off , when I shared what I went through with her , she got defensive and showed no accountability or ownership. She indicated that this is her standard of care and sees absolutely nothing wrong! Heres the fact ; she created , and mismanaged the situation and I suffered the physical and financial damage . I pray for her patients! Please go somewhere else - I recommend Dr Ghorbani .

She even took pictures of my teeth to help me see up-close of some teeth that had wear. The doctor came in at the end of the cleaning to examine my teeth, answered some more questions I had, and I was off on my way. Originally I didn't have much expectations since, IMO, the intro offer was a great deal, but their level of care blew me away. Would highly recommend checking this dentistry out for your annual cleanings! :)

M'kay- SO... i've been referring friends to Dr. Kang for a while and it just occurred to me to…read morereview him this morning because he came through for me in a pinch. I formally saw the Cooley's in the same building and there was something going on with a tooth of mine and I didn't quite trust they knew what they were talking about so I went to go get a second opinion from Dr. Kang. Well, it turns out that the Cooley's were telling me the right thing, but in the delivery I didn't trust they knew what they were talking about. They had a hand masseuse on staff when I was there, have tv monitors to watch, it was fancy! I'd say I got a (grown up) Frat Guy vibe which is fine, I miss those days! Boy do I miss those days. But for some reason the trust was weak. I love "extra" things but for some reason it didn't hit for me. So, anyway, no harm by them and if you're into that, it's a nice place, but because of the style of the communication, I took that as a hint that I would be a better fit with Dr. Kang. Dr. Kang really cares. Like REALLY cares. He knows what he's doing, he's a family man, gentle and great at describing dental stuff to laymen. So the reason for this overdue review... Last night for some reason out of the blue I was eating Fritos and apparently I was chewing in a circular motion much like a cow (IMO) for some reason. I chipped a tooth doing this and I was in a complete panic because I'm leaving town. Well of course I look at Google and it looks scary so I decided to go in first thing this morning and talk to the front desk and sit there to see if he could squeeze me in just to take a look at it. He did manage to squeeze me in and it was a very light chip so it didn't need major work. A file. But as I was thinking about it last night and sitting there this morning I realized that I KNEW Dr. Kang would help me. I also knew that the chip didn't hurt so it wasn't big and likely wouldn't take much time, but still... To know in my heart of hearts that Dr. Kang would help me today it just made me so grateful to have him as my dentist. As I was sitting there in the waiting room the gal at the front desk said "we'll take care of you" and those words... those words meant so much. Dentist appointments are so regimented and easy to take for granted. I've never thought about it until today but I really appreciate Dr. Kang and I am so glad that he's my dentist.
