sanitary trim

Have to bring my three legged kitty, Humphrey, in for sanitary trims and Julie is the only one who can get the job done! She's quick and Humphrey is completely fine afterwards! Thank you!!!!

$20 for a nail trim. $25 for a self wash. The dryer is pretty good. I was able to get a walk in nail trim which is a big plus along with the dryer. Kind of expensive is why no 5 stars but I guess it's expected if it's clean quiet and convenient!

Waiting patiently for Monday when playcare opens again, LOL.

My small dog loves coming here for playcare! On our latest Sunday walk my dog led me here and refused to leave (it's closed on Sundays). So glad to find her a home away from home, and in such a welcoming, communicative, professional place!!

Ravenswoof has been the biggest blessing to our family. We rescued our girl Daisy when she was two years old. At that point she suffered from severe anxiety. With that in mind, it was a challenge to find a place that would treat her with the patience and grace she needed. We tried a few different groomers in the chicagoland area before we found Ravenswoof. At that time Julie was our primary groomer, and we were very pleased with the care and attention our dog received in her care. With time we were pleased to see Ravenswoof expand and hire on new team members. Due to our schedule we decided to give one of the newer groomers Nick a shot, as they had more availability at the time. Fast forward a year and a half later, and we are so pleased by the service Nick has provided to our daisy. Nick is incredibly kind, thoughtful, and patient. Nick goes out of their way to make Daisy as comfortable as possible, and cater to her more sensitive and unique needs. Not to mention the awesome work this team does! We are always so pleased with the end outcome of Daisy's time at Ravenswoof. She always comes home looking spiffy, smelling good, and looking stylish with a new bandana! Prices are reasonable, again especially considering the compassionate and professional care being offered. I would 10/10 recommend Ravenswoof to anyone in the area, you will not be disappointed.

Right after her appointment.

I feel so guilty writing this review as I had very high hopes. Our dog is a puppy, she is 6 months old. This was her first grooming. She was desperately in need of a hair cut. She is 11 pounds. We have a good friend who has a somewhat "excited" dog, and knowing that they can take care of him gave us hopes. He is 35 pounds and has a very hard time sitting still. When we got there. It was was super loud, a lot a dogs were barking. We could barely hear the person greeting us. Our dog started to freak out. An hour before we were supposed to pick up, they texted advising they couldn't cut her hair due to safety. When we picked her up, very little hair had been cut. No evidence of nails trimmed. Her face had no trim, which was a huge bummer and priority for us because she couldn't see. We booked an appointment 1.5 months in advance, only to pay $55 bucks for a wash and a blow dry. Which we give her every week. I wish they would have told me she wasn't able to sit still earlier and I would have picked her up and not wasted their time, or mine. Also $$$. I'm so disappointed. They offered to potentially come in during the morning to help her be more calm and dog training as helpful things going forward. The training piece I took as a bit of an insult as she falls asleep in the bath with us.

We've gone here twice now - the first time Niles, my Maltese, got groomed by Julie and the second time by Page. Julie is great, but I wanted to give major kudos to Page since they're newer at this place and are awesome. Niles is extremely anxious and I really appreciated that Page took some time to let my boy sniff around and greet them before picking him up and carrying him into the back. It made me feel like they really understood dog behavior and that Niles would be in safe hands. Niles has had some really bad cuts before where he's ended up looking like a poodle, but Page made sure to ask us in detail about what we wanted (specifically, if we wanted a round face, and yes we did!). They were also very understanding about some mats that Niles had developed. A few hours later, I picked up a happy little guy who looked and smelled great! I was shocked that he actually wanted to go back behind the gate to explore. It makes me think that they must've been really gentle with him and not forced his boundaries too much. This place is a gem and we will be coming back again for sure.

We drive from Oak Park for a fear free appointment with Emily. Our little old one is a nervous and busy chap, that Emily makes look wonderful. Our first visit she focused on key areas and kept it minimal so he can get use to a new groomer. They have great prices for the peace of mind knowing they are in good hands.

This is Asher.

Julie and her team are wonderful. Asher loves visiting her. We always love Ashe just a little more after Ravenswoof cleans him up.

1st visit- bath, trim, blowout

The people at Ravenswoof are so kind, talented, and patient. Price is very competitive. They listened to my wants (keep the eyelashes!) but otherwise I let them use their expertise. Excellent job! I've had only great experiences with my sweet, timid pup and will be a loyal customer

After!

I was thrilled that Howlistic Grooming had availability and had such stellar reviews. With the large number of dogs in the area, it's a relief knowing we can book here less than a month in advance. Definitely recommend checking them out!

I said yes and confidently left, expecting consistency with the previous groom. Unfortunately, that was not the case at all. They cut my dog's hair extremely low and completely ignored the previous grooming guidelines. When I expressed my concerns, the groomer responded by saying When I expressed my concerns, the groomer responded by saying she had "shaved his nails for free," which she said is normally a $10 add-on. I explained that it still didn't address the issue at hand and that it should have either been communicated or charged properly as an add-on if that was the case, because it didn't resolve my concern about the haircut. I was told there was "nothing they could do" and that "for future reference" I should bring a photo. I didn't think a photo was necessary for a repeat appointment when the staff made it seem like they already understood what was expected based on his last service. The manager called the next day, listened to everything that happened, and ultimately only reiterated that they do not offer refunds or discounts. No apology, no empathy, and no accountability for the poor experience. The only response I kept hearing was "for future reference." To make matters worse, my dog's ears were cut so short that he barely even looks like he has ears anymore. The haircut looks nothing like the previous groom, and it's honestly upsetting to look at. Since the appointment, he hasn't even seemed like his usual energetic self. I trusted this salon to care for him properly, and instead I left feeling dismissed and deeply disappointed. A total waste of $80 and a tip. PHOTOS BELOW: As you can see in the attached photos, his beautiful black coat was shaved down entirely too close, leaving his face and ears completely bare.

One of the true pleasures of living in a big city it to discover treasures in the most unexpected of places. Who would think that dog grooming would be one such place but I consider CleanDog to be a treasure in Chicago. John brings a rare combination of pride or work and some kind of genius for dog grooming that is ineffable; he just has a feel and an incredible talent for working with dogs. What brought me in the door for our Maltipoo Bailey is that I was looking for someone who would not immediately resort to shears to deal with some matting (admittedly, we had let Bailey go and she was very matted). I know that taking her to our prior groomer would result in her coming home shivering and looking like a short-haired chihuahua. Reading the reviews here led us to CleanDog. In short, John did not disappoint. He is so kind and helpful and went the extra mile (and then another extra mile and then another after that). As others have experienced, we could not believe how wonderful she looked. In fact, it was the best she has ever looked, hands down. John patiently brushed her out, gave her a much needed bath, and then working his own unique magic, brought out the scissors and turned her into a show dog. I can't imagine taking her for grooming anywhere else in Chicago.
