This is a great little hotel, ok, it is part of a larger chain (Old English Inns) but I have stayed here a few times and so, the rooms are basic, but they have a good restaurant, a nice bar and the staff are friendly and helpful.
It's a great deal at the weekend when it's quieter, busy in the week due to the corporates that stay there as so many companies have head offices in the area..
King George and Wallace Simpson stayed here before he was King and they are remembered with suites named after them. Rudyard Kipling wrote her first book at the Raven whilst teaching in a local school - it has a wealth of history...! read more
