The massage was quite nice, not very deep, but she did concentrate on my neck and shoulders as I asked, and I left feeling relaxed. We then went on to try all the other "facilities". There was a small sauna in the ladies' locker room that was good, but a bit busy, and the only other thing we could find was a hot tub outside on a balcony, overlooking the race track. We braved the frankly horrid weather and got into the hot tub. We could not get it started - neither could the staff when we finally tracked them down. So basically we were sitting in a warm bath, in the rain, in full view of a stag party racing around the Mercades driving track. It just didn't quite work for me. The afternoon tea was perfectly nice - it just felt a little odd being the only ones there for it and as we were tucked out of sight round the corner, I had to track someone down to ask for more hot water for the tea. I enjoyed it and I might come back to the hotel for a meal or drinks if the opportunity arose, but i probably wouldn't bother with their spa facilities again.

The decor and atmosphere crosses over from pub to wine bar making it very cosy but then at times it felt like a sports pub with TVs pumping out the games from almost every corner. The food had the same identity crisis. Standard British fare was very good but if you stepped even slightly off the beaten track, while it was still good, you felt the chef's abilities were already creaking at the edges. The door adjacent to our room was open on both ends and it was a concern for me. However the person at the front desk was able to fix it. The BATHTUB was worth it alone. Deep and lush with lavender bubbles etc. Our view was of the lake and it was relaxing. A cute addition was the bottle of water stating "drink me" in their relation to Alice and Wonderland haven been placed in that city. I had fallen ill and the staff at the front desk was quick to get me a ride to a nearby ER. We where at the ER for 7 hours, So if you fall in, I suggest going back toward London. But for what it was, I am very happy we had a nice stay at the hotel.

There is something very wrong with the air conditioning system at this hotel. The first room I…read morewalked into, I was hit by blazing heat and immediately called the front desk and had to change rooms because the meter was not working (room 411). The room should not even be in service for gas. Secondly, I was moved to room 509 which did not have the stifling heat factor, but the air conditioning still was not satisfactory. As a result, they had to bring me a fan. Needless to say, my sleep was interrupted throughout the nights due to the Warren of the room. The manager was very kind and provided me with one complementary cocktail at the bar for the inconvenience. In addition, when housekeeping came to clean my room, they were removed the wash face cloths and did not replace them. I called down to the front desk to see if someone could bring me a couple up, and the employee told me that I could either come downstairs and get them or that housekeeping would be open again in the morning. I told him that I was undressed and could not come down. He then brought up two hand towels, and when I told him that I needed face cloths, he told me that was all they had. Needless to say, I had to take a shower with a massive hand towel. The next day, upon returning to my room, housekeeping had not left face cloths again. I had to go downstairs and get them. I don't know what the issue is at this hotel with that. Nonetheless, there is a mini refrigerator in the rooms, my new room was 509, but they do not keep items cool at all. Therefore, if you go and get ice from the bar area. (says there are no icemakers on any floors in this hotel), there is no way to keep it frozen. Also, their elevators are extremely small and narrow, and don't work all the time. If you have more than three people or two people with luggage, that is all that will fit in them, and they are very slow and only work some of the times. Furthermore, I requested a late check out and was told that noon was the latest they could do without charging me an additional fee. I would've thought that given everything that went wrong with my stay, they would've accommodated my 1pm check-out request, but they did not. On a positive note, the hotel is in a great location and there is tons to do in the area. My colleague parked car. They are so be aware that there is no in and out privileges. Once you park, your car must remain parked, or you will be charged again. This doesn't make very much sense to me. I believe there are other parking structures in the area that are cheaper and more flexible so you might want to check. Needless to say, when I return to my office in the area, I will definitely plan to stay elsewhere. I need to sleep comfortably, have a cool room, and expect great customer service.

The brasserie is quite an expense to spare but completely worth it and a wonderful addition to the hotel. I went here for my anniversary and the meal here rounded the experience off and really added to our enjoyment. I can 100% recommend the Kobe beef burger, although pricey, is very succulent and tastes amazing. It was also the place we went to for breakfast, which was included in our stay, a buffet style breakfast that had everything on offer and it all tasted great and we even got a free newspaper to read whilst we ate. A great place to eat whether you stay at the hotel or not.

The staff is also very friendly and helpful. The outdoor courtyard area is great for a drink when the weather is warm. The room is a bit small by American standards, but certainly met our needs. Mistake oh yes there was a wedding on the following day so we go to dinner to be told you cant eat in the restaurant because the wedding party takes priority,(not told this when booked the meal and breakfast). Speaking to the manager he just was not interested in the issue and said sorry the bar or nothing. The food when we got it was nice the hotel was dated but pleasent. BUT - The staff and management with the exception of 1 barman (Nik) was horrendous. Will we ever go back to the hotel NO will we go to another Best Western I doubt that as well with the treatment we got in this hotel
