There is something very wrong with the air conditioning system at this hotel. The first room I…read morewalked into, I was hit by blazing heat and immediately called the front desk and had to change rooms because the meter was not working (room 411). The room should not even be in service for gas. Secondly, I was moved to room 509 which did not have the stifling heat factor, but the air conditioning still was not satisfactory. As a result, they had to bring me a fan. Needless to say, my sleep was interrupted throughout the nights due to the Warren of the room. The manager was very kind and provided me with one complementary cocktail at the bar for the inconvenience. In addition, when housekeeping came to clean my room, they were removed the wash face cloths and did not replace them. I called down to the front desk to see if someone could bring me a couple up, and the employee told me that I could either come downstairs and get them or that housekeeping would be open again in the morning. I told him that I was undressed and could not come down. He then brought up two hand towels, and when I told him that I needed face cloths, he told me that was all they had. Needless to say, I had to take a shower with a massive hand towel. The next day, upon returning to my room, housekeeping had not left face cloths again. I had to go downstairs and get them. I don't know what the issue is at this hotel with that. Nonetheless, there is a mini refrigerator in the rooms, my new room was 509, but they do not keep items cool at all. Therefore, if you go and get ice from the bar area. (says there are no icemakers on any floors in this hotel), there is no way to keep it frozen. Also, their elevators are extremely small and narrow, and don't work all the time. If you have more than three people or two people with luggage, that is all that will fit in them, and they are very slow and only work some of the times. Furthermore, I requested a late check out and was told that noon was the latest they could do without charging me an additional fee. I would've thought that given everything that went wrong with my stay, they would've accommodated my 1pm check-out request, but they did not. On a positive note, the hotel is in a great location and there is tons to do in the area. My colleague parked car. They are so be aware that there is no in and out privileges. Once you park, your car must remain parked, or you will be charged again. This doesn't make very much sense to me. I believe there are other parking structures in the area that are cheaper and more flexible so you might want to check. Needless to say, when I return to my office in the area, I will definitely plan to stay elsewhere. I need to sleep comfortably, have a cool room, and expect great customer service.

Stayed here for work. Nice lobby. Friendly staff, great buff set breakfast, quiet rooms. Location…read moreso walking distance to restaurants and a mall. Not far from a train station either. My only complaint would be no fridge in the rooms Complimentary bottles of water in the room. Greeted with a hot cookie. No wait for a room.

This hotel is walking distance to my company's offices when I am in town on business. Fortunately,…read morethe hotel staff are friendly and the rooms and hotel have been reno'd since the last time I came. Nice clean rooms and great front desk staff. Water pressure is low so the morning shower takes twice as long. Wifi is temperamental and cuts out several times during a three hour session. Ground floor room overlooked parking lot with pet owners whose dogs barked at odd times in the early hours and noise of folks starting their cars and slamming doors is the only annoyance for a business traveller. Had dinner one night out in the outside bar area. Took forever to get service. My colleague had to go inside to order our beers and ask for service. Someone from inside came out promptly to serve us. The crown burger and fries was really good with crispy fat fries. Generous chicken Caesar salad too. Much improved food quality from last time I stayed here.

Very nice place to stay if you're (for some bizarre reason, for most Americans) in the town of…read moreChertsey in Surrey, southwest of London. The decor and staff are fantastic. It's some ancient series of buildings that have grown and evolved over the centuries. The main building is a work of art, and feels historic. The mid-range rooms are perfectly comfortable and perfectly serviceable. You're going to them to sleep, odds are, not to camp out for fun. Room service is great. The dining is the best thing about the place--the eggs benedict are up there with the very best I've ever had. Staying there a week plus a weekend, I ended up having them way too often for breakfast. I'd give them four stars but for the fact that when I was there (March 2011) there were some sporadic and rather annoying issues with their wi-fi service. When it was on, it was fantastic. When it wasn't... well, it was pretty bad. Prices are reasonable for the area for business travelers, and the location is in the literal middle of Chertsey. Not much there, but for what is there, it's all walking distance from the hotel.
