At first glance, this hotel doesn't look like much from the outside, but once you step inside you'll see a nice lobby, with stairs leading to dining on the right. Check-in was quick and the folx at the front desk were welcoming and helpful. The rooms are simple but cosy, and I loved the complimentary tea and biscuits in the rooms. The bathrooms are super clean. Just be careful climbing into and out of the tub as it was quite high up. I didn't have trouble with the height of the shower since I'm basically the size of a garden gnome. You can see where they painted to update the rooms but honestly it wasn't a huge deal since the rooms were clean and comfortable. They had everything we needed so no complaints at all. I wanted to praise and thank the hotel staff once again, as they were very accommodating with any requests, from extra tea to helping book a cab no matter what time I needed one. The breakfast bar was great, and the room it's held in overlooks the street, which is a nice view even on a grey morning. The only photos I took are from the breakfasts I had there, as well as the dinner I had at their other restaurant. I loved the area; we were close to a convenience store and some restaurants. We were also just across the street from Regents Park which was so nice, it was worth walking through a couple of times. Thanks for a lovely stay! read more

Everything else has pretty much been mentioned in the other Yelp reviews. They do seem to be refurbishing the hotel from the bottom up though from the last time I came here. Bonus tips: 1) ask them for wall converters if you forget yours and the super nice and friendly staff will gladly give them to you even if it's 3am (albeit I did walk to the lobby because I didn't want to be a bother so late at night) 2) they have 4 different pillows to choose from! I love the fact that I don't have to ask the hotel staff for other pillows. 3) this was mentioned already... but their shower heads are a bit on the short side of things....I'm 5'7 ... and even I find it a tad too short. Very nice hotel - looks dated from the outside but inside, the rooms were very nice and recently refurbished. I think Danubius Hotel is a Hungarian chain. My colleague and I extended our business trip to have some fun in London, and found this hotel on TripAdvisor. My criteria - NW London, 4-5 stars, under $200, two twin beds ... FYI it's hard to find hotels in London with two twins (two doubles is even harder). Another criteria was being near a Tube station - this hotel is a 7-minute walk to St. John Wood station. While it's close to Regent's Park and Lord's Cricket Ground - there really isn't anything else nearby incl. restaurants or shopping. I did find out too late that the famous Abbey Road is very close to St. John Wood station! ROOMS Nice-size room, comfy beds, free WIFI, A/C, large flatscreen TV, mini-fridge and coffeemaker. BATHROOMS Bathrooms looked brand-new. Complimentary toiletries incl. shampoo/conditioner, shower gel, lotion and soap. Towels were pretty rough and worn (vs fluffy) - my only complaint. Like the other UK hotel we stayed at, the sides of the bathtub are very high so as a petite person, you do have be very careful climbing in and out of the tub. RESTAURANT I was craving fish-n-chips, and my colleague was craving burgers so we ate at their Pavilion Bar. Food portion was very generous. Prices reasonable. My "traditional beer battered fish & chips" also came with crushed minted peas - the fish tasted fresh but could've used more flavor (£13). My colleague loved her beef burger (£9), and homemade chips (£4). We ate at the bar so we didn't get the most attentive service since they were super busy w/ drink orders. Overall great hotel - very clean and new inside. Just not the most convenient location. I'd stay here again though. read more

Good location. Mostly friendly staff. Very close to beautiful Regents Park. 25 minutes walk to Oxford street or 15 by bus. Small but clean rooms. Quiet place to sleep well most of the time. The downside is that the building needs renovations inside/outside. Needs mostly an update. The lobby needs a huge makeover. The would right there make a world of a difference. Food at the restaurant is ok. There is tons of great restaurants and food options around London, please go out. read more

Lovely hotel with even better food! We were here for their Sunday Buffet Carvery Lunch and were absolutely spoiled. We had a Groupon for the lunch with a bottle of wine. The wine, a Malbec according to the bottle was fantastic. I know nothing about wines, but this house wine was very good. The food was even better. A huge range of starters, focusing particularly on seafoods took up a large area of the counter. Bread and butter was constantly topped up at the table, the waiter service excellent. From taking away plates, to asking whether you'd like tea or coffee whilst you're getting your dessert, it was all very polite, friendly and efficient. The staff helping those more frail members get their food at the counters and carrying this back to their tables as well as lending an arm or torso to hold onto. It was a little like being at a family gathering to be honest. The mains were were better than the starters. The gigantic roast turkey was so succulent and moist considering it's size. With the homemade cranberry sauce i was in heaven. But it didn't stop there, there was also roast beef, cooked both rare and well done, very lean sausages, crisp bacon medallions, chicken thigh, and a wide selection of veggies and the all important yorkshire puds which rose to the occasion. In all, a better roast I couldn't really imagine on this scale. To finish off, the dessert was sublime. Both of them. One of a cream, chopped nuts cake topped with fruit. The other an apple strudel type pie (German Style). Both served with a raspberry or apple coulis or cream. The only complaint I could have is maybe some custard please? So so minor a complaint though. There's also a selection of fruit, both in syrup and loose. In all, every aspect of this place from service, food, decor, comfort, lighting were excellent. It was impossible to fault anything at all. If you have a lazy afternoon saved up, you can't really go wrong for £30 per head. Just note that lunch is served from 12-3pm. More than enough time. You can even see a bit of cricket as the lunch room overlooks the Lord's cricket ground. For afters, there's a nice bar that shows the football just outside the restaurant. So actually you can spend the WHOLE afternoon here and not regret a moment. read more

They always have a smile and do a fantastic job here. We got an executive suite on the 9th floor overlooking Lords Cricket Grounds. It's really quite a nice place to stay. This is a very comfortable hotel. It has all the facilities you'd expect from a high classed hotel with some nice additions. We arrived early in the morning and were unable to check in yet. We were able to leave our luggage with the concierge and made our way into town. Check-in was at 2 PM and on my request we got a quiet room on one of the top floors. A Junior Suite, overlooking the St. John's Wood Cricket Ground. Very convenient for the Underground and buses. Concierge services, Fitness rooms, Free complimentary papers and magazines. The room is big and beds are comfortable - they use duvets instead of sheets. The bathroom is large with a power shower and has a full size bath. Yes I did use it and it is very good. The rooms have air conditioning and all have access to free wifi. There is complimentary coffee, tea and cookies :o) A Smoking Area is set up outside near the entrance which has a heat lamp to boot. We had a brilliant stay here and would recommend it to others. Be aware that due to its location it is a very expensive Hotel, we took advantage of an advance booking price. read more

The hotel seems a little dated, until you walk into the room itself. The rooms are fairly small, which is fine for me, but clean! Some say some of the rooms are haunted, but that's for you to decide. The beds are small (perhaps too small for some), but I grew up with a twin bed, so I dont have any problems with 'em. The bathroom amenities leave something to be desired (I usually bring my own, but if you're flying in, using these ones aren't the end of the world). However, my favourite part of this hotel are the cookies you get in the room - usually shortbread - that make the perfect before-bed snack. Hotel is located in St. John's Wood, across a beautiful park, a short walk to a Tesco (grocery store), restaurants, a 5-minute walk to the Sherlock Holmes museum and another 20-minute walk to Oxford. read more

Booked 2 King deluxe rooms for 3 nights. Overall the bedrooms were refurbished, and nicely appointed. However, the hotel building itself is very dated, and amenities for a "4 star" hotel are severely lacking. No pool, no spa, no other facilities you'd expect to see in a hotel that presents itself as luxury and charged up to $500 per night. Also, the A/C in the room was working overtime, but could still not bring down the temperature. I'd say, this is a nice(ish) hotel, that may have been 4 star back in the 70s. Now, it's more akin to an overpriced Holiday Inn, with an exaggerated lobby. For comparison the Park Plaza on the Thames was the same price for the 2 King sized rooms, and has amenities coming out of its wazoo. Hotel needs severe investment to bring it up to contemporary standards. Only redeeming factor is location. read more

Hungarian hospitality at it's best. Within 10 minutes walk of St. John's Wood tube. Perfect service, gorgeous surroundings if you like to walk. The gym is a big cut above most travelers' hotels. Great nice sleep, thanks to comfy beds. Border biscuits in the room and a good teapot. In general, a kick back vibe where anything you need is easily handled. I wouldn't recommend the bar, but that's an easy remedy in London, just walk a few paces to a local pub for better libations. read more

Overall a good property nicely located by Regent Park. The staff is very courteous and professional. Their restaurant has a decent selection of food that is tasty and reasonably priced for London standards. The room and common areas were very clean. The room i had was extremely small and the furniture dated. This hotel could get a better rating if they would update the decor in the whole property. read more

The Lounge area is wonderful. The servers are great. First time at this location. Loved the Sticky pudding, cheese plate and lamb curry. The lounge area is open 24 hours. The dining room was okay. I went for breakfast one day and literally was reduced to eating cheese and prosciutto. The hotel staff was okay. The cleaning staff never would take a glass that came from the dining area from the room. We had several by the time we left. I didn't have any major problems except I had to go and get my card key recoded everyday. Some other friends of mine had issues with housekeeping. Those are fixable issues but I would definitely go back to have food in the Lounge. read more

This hotel is located directly opposite Lords Cricket Ground, so if you're on a high enough floor, you can see into the Ground. Externally this hotel looks pretty dire - like a 1960s office block. Internally, the Reception and dining area at least, look very luxurious. The rooms however are a different story. We stayed in a standard double room (meant to be £ 299 a night - we didn't pay that) - and it was very basic and smaller than our bedroom at home. The en suite was ok, if a little on the small side, but at least the shower worked! Customer Service was fine, but not spectacular. We also used the parking facilities - £ 20.00 per night (but we were in London). I don't think we would stay there again. Although Central London is within walking distance, so a good location. Also, it is not in the Congestion Charge zone. read more

The service here is appalling. Unable to accommodate an early check in request. Food was left in our fridge when we checked in. Was totally ignored by the two waiters working at the bar. My friend was overcharged by $300 for our room. And they were totally incompetent with dealing with the error. Pretty outdated hotel, really not worth staying here. read more

The hotel dos not look very spectacular from the outside but inside it is quite nice. CheckIn was fast and they checked whether I would like a wake up call and a newspaper. The room was a good size, eqipped with flatscreen,desk,chair- typical 4/5 star style. I like the wrapped cookies right next to kettle,although I did not eat them. Staff at breakfast was attentive. They serve english breakfast,so do not expect a wide range of breakfast rolls. Right next to the hotel are bus stations and St Johns Wood tube Station which is about a 7 minute walk. read more

This was my first time in London and Danubius made it unforgettable. We had originally booked another hotel but after a terrible accident, we were booked to Danubius free of charge. They made our stay absolutely incredible after the inconvenience we experienced at our original hotel. The room itself was decent but the staff in beyond amazing and the lobby is very clean and fancy. Our room came with breakfast which was actually way better then we expected. There is lots of variety and tasty foods to enjoy. However, keep in mind that I didn't take the price into consideration because it was covered but I understand that it's a very expensive hotel so take this review with a grain of salt. read more

This hotel is in a great safe neighborhood. It is nice to be part of the hustle and bustle of the tourist areas in London and then come to a neighborhood for your hotel. Adjacent to Saint John's Woods High Street - great for dinner out. This isn't a luxury hotel, but perfectly acceptable for a nice stay in London. If you are used to the Four Seasons or W brands, this will not be of interest to you. read more

I stayed in this hotel earlier this year and the rooms are very luxurious and well-equipped. The bathroom was really big with a bath and shower and everything you might need. The beds were really comfortable too. Only deducted a star because the check-in was so slow even after I explained I was in a hurry and on the following day the porters failed to flag me a cab so I walked to the bus stop. I have to say though that the breakfast was excellent, I even saw a cricket team dining at the same time as me (although I've no idea which cricket team). read more

Front desk and concierge were very helpful. The room was nice and house keeping kept everything clean.the bathroom was a little final destination for me. The shower door opens outward but you wouldn't know just by looking at it. The side of the shower you get in and out from is very close to sink that has many corners on it , you can't hold onto the shower door to get in and out because that would just end up opening and causing you to slip and possibly million dollar baby your head on the sink edges. If you have kids or your clumsy be extra careful there's no handle or surface to hold onto to get ot of the shower, plus it's a deep tub. Good for baths, but hard for short legs to step in and out. Calling room service was a little annoying because one time we had to call three times because no one answered the first two after being transferred to order food. The after hours room service menu was limited. Overall great location because you're not smack center in a tourist area, it's about one hour walking distance from Buckingham palace, three train stops away. read more

I stayed at the Danubius Hotel Regents Park in March of 2017 and I have to say that I had a great experience. They have a delicious buffet breakfast. I'm not usually one to leave reviews but the staff there (Malik and Petronela) really went out of their way to solve a problem I had. I had forgotten my wallet in the safe of the hotel and by the time I realized it I was already at the airport on my way to France. First off their staff is very trustworthy. The money in my wallet was still there. Malik and Petronela communicated with me very promptly via email and phone to resolve this complicated issue. They had to wire my cash to me because they could not legally send the money and they shipped my wallet via post to my hotel in France. This required multiple trips for them. Everytime I communicated with them, they were so pleasant and understanding about the situation. I would give them more than 5 stars if I could. Thank you Malik and Petronela. read more

We stayed here while we were in London and I must say I loved the hotel itself!! The room was spacious they had a bar right downstairs along with 24hr food service (which is rare) we tried the breakfast bar (11£ each if purchased in advance) and while I loved it my boyfriend didn't care for it. They served a lot of traditional English breakfast items which was what I wanted while visiting another country. The staff were all very accommodating and nice!! Only 5-10 minutes from the underground(train) which made getting around VERY convenient, and on the underground everything was a fairly short ride away because of the wonderful location of the hotel!! The only reason I gave it 4/5 is because of the shower...the water pressure was a little weak and the shower itself was very short (I'm 5'2 and couldn't lift my arms without touching the ceiling) also I was very afraid of the shower as it was on a platform of sorts. You had to step UP into it and getting out while wet was very nerve wracking for me. Apart from the shower I LOVED this hotel!! There was even a free gym that you could sign up to use during your stay. read more
