I had a business trip to Windsor and this hotel was recommended by a colleague. It's right in the heart of Windsor; you walk out the front door and the castle is "right there". The rooms are super comfy, robes, slippers, wonderful coffee & tea and a good size bathroom. There is a mini-bar, hairdryers, a safe, ample toiletries, bottle of water each day for the hotpot or Nespresso, there was nothing else needed. The restaurant and bar downstairs was convenient, especially with a bit of jet lag on the first day and it was chilly out. The bartenders were super friendly to this solo traveler, so much appreciated. I did not breakfast here; the Starbucks around the corner had ham and cheese toasties and a latte for 4.65, so that was easy. There is also a Cafe Nero just a bit further if you prefer. Large mirrors in the sitting area so you can blow dry hair; albeit was a bit dark, even with all the lights on. You can hear a bit of what's happening in the next room (I was in 411), so be sure to set your AC unit fan to "high", that did help. Peascod St has just about all the shopping one would need and it's right out the front door 1/2 block. Make sure to try Sebastians for dinner. Wow. It's just a two minute walk and amazing Italian food; impeccable service. The changing of the guards also comes right by the hotel's front door. Will definitely make this my hotel for business trips to Windsor.

As an American, I was somewhat taken aback by the lovely receptionist who asked, "Did you know Trump is going to visit?" I thought she was being inclusive. My response, "Yes! I'm bummed I'll miss him." She said, with an unpleasant look, "You are?" Yes, half of America voted for and continue to support this man. Leave politics out of hospitality. That said, she was lovely on ash other accounts. The lift didn't work, but it's an old, but stunning building. Rooms are spacious and finally, we got face cloths! The restaurant and bar have a great atmosphere. Decorated with greenery (fake but will maintained) and bright colors that make you feel alive. The restaurant and bar include a variety of food and drink that would please anyone, even the pickiest of eaters. However, upon arrival at the bar, we weren't sure if we needed to order first or wait for a server. A server came by and she either was having a bad day or she didn't care for Americans, as we attempted to relate our order to her and got abide and sarcastic remarks. We would have left if it wa6nt for Jake. He was accommodating, friendly and went out of guys way for us. He's a reason we would return to the bar/restaurant! The beds are comfy, however my cousin and I have twin beds and they slide this way and that. Wondering if there's a way to make them more stable. First round at the mini bar is complimentary. Our view was towards the back of the hotel. Nothing to see there but cranes, alleys and rooftops that are an odd guy to the rest of the hotel. The great food, comfort and welcoming (for the most part) make this a place I would return, grabbed politics are never discussed, especially upon check in and not promoted by any conversation and we're the receptionist's personal views. It definitely made me want to start elsewhere. It's fortunate we had a great experience after check in. Again, it almost made me feel uncomfortable and I was thinking of leaving. However, people have different opinions and I respect that. I just didn't think I would encounter such bias upon check-in. I wonder if our room with the not so great view were based on my views. With the lift out of order, we either had to lug our suitcases up 3 flights if crooked stairs or have someone lug them up for us. The man was so gracious, but this is a job for the young and fit. I felt signing this task what I believe was the most senior staff was not a week thought out plan. Again, the hotel, location, lovely accommodations, food and most staff makes this a wonderful choice for your stay in Windsor!

Great central location, surrounded by many restaurants and shops. You definitely don't need a car. I came here for work, and most of my colleagues stay here. ROOMS - Very nice rooms but beds not so comfy w/ lumpy mattresses ... I traveled with colleagues so got a glimpse of 3 rooms - all very different from each other but I think the doubles or queens are just two twins conjoined together. I don't think there are rooms with two doubles. - Free WIFI and it works well. - No mini-fridge ... frustrating when you want to keep your drinks cold. - Room doors don't have a security chain or double bolt. BATHROOMS - Maid service is great about keeping the bathrooms clean. - The sides of the tub are really high so as a petite person, you really have to be careful climbing in and out of the tub. - Sinks have separate hot vs cold faucets ... I really wish they would update the sinks. - Toiletries incl. shampoo, shower gel and lotion ... no soap or conditioner. Hotel does have a lift (elevator) but some rooms require additional steps. Depending on the hotel rate, free breakfast buffet may be included. Food was very good but exactly same every day - I was there for 5 days. Scrambled eggs, fried eggs, Canadian bacon, sausage, baked beans, meats & cheese, pastries (croissants, danishes), cereals, fruit, yogurt and smoothies. Still enjoyed it though :) Overall great place to stay esp. if you're visiting Windsor Castle. Lots of great restaurants and shopping.

The toilets have some difficulty flushing, but the gentleman working in the front desk ensured I had parking during my stay. Floor cracked, but this adds to the entire British old style hotel experience. Driving distance from the Windsor castle, there are two pubs walking distance. In a suburb neighborhood, a taxi/can away from the castle.

Well, there was; you could have paid 5 qui extra but it was just a "continental" one consisting of bread and such. No hot food. In England you're suppose to have a delicious, hot English breakfast with eggs and sausage and ham and baked beans and tomatoes and... The big draw was that it was not very expensive. It was the cheapest place to stay that I could find in Windsor, which is obviously is an expensive place to stay in. It is also just about a ten minute walk to the downtown shopping area, which is a bonus. There was also free parking on the premises. The hotel itself needs a lot of work though. The bed was pretty uncomfortable for a start. The room wasn't exactly clean either. There were the two of us and we only found one towel in the room. The sink wasn't much bigger than your favorite cereal bowl. The shower; well, the guy who did the tiles and grouting should have been fired on the spot. It was really messy and quite frankly you'd think they would re-do it right away based on the appearance. They did have a kettle and some tea bags and packs of Nescafe, but that was only for the first day/night. Not once in the 4 days did anybody come and leave more in the room. Nobody ever ame to the room, so the bed wasn't made, the garbage wasn't emptied, etc. On the positive side; there was a television and lots of channels were available. So overall, I would say this place would be good for a night or good if you don't care about the cleanliness and state of the room that you stay in. In hindsight, I should have paid a bit extra for a decent room.
