Long: I'm a nurse who was recommended this clinic strictly for Dr. Chokshi, whom I did like very much. Unfortunately she left the practice and I can't blame her one tiny bit. The Good: There was a single, nice medical assistant who gave me my allergy shots. That is the single only thing I can say was a good experience. The Bad: Scheduling is atrocious with incorrect info, dates and times. Staff were so unprofessional. So disorganized I was amazed they can even keep the place running. I was given meds without being told what they were until I asked and forgotten about several times until I went to front to ask where my care provider was. They also have no training to be polite or nice. Never smiles, never looking up to see if you need help. Not to blame them directly, but my guess is it's a terrible place to run and they're only a symptom of the real problem: management. The whole facility is dilapidated and dirty. Fast food bathrooms are in better shape than their's. Barely toilet paper, no soap and nothing to dry hands with. Always dirty. I spent a whole day getting allergy shots and my only option to bring my own food was to use their super packed and also dirty fridge. Examples like this go on and on. It is NOT well cared for, and it's all indicative of how a practice is run, which brings me to.... The Ugly: I came in for an appointment and was told I was wrong, that I didn't have one that day. Then after I insisted I did have an appointment, and lots of hushed whispers, they inform me Dr. Chokshi left the practice. I had to practically beg to get seen that day by someone else (extreme allergy issues at home leaving me chronically miserable). After waiting an hour I finally got to see Dr. Vital himself and I'm so glad I did. It made my decision very easy to never step foot in that office again. He hurriedly does an exam while I try to ask questions. Tells me I have an infection (no details about what symptoms he saw, what kind of infection it is, only that I need antibiotic shot, steroid shot and B12 then to come back next week for more allergy shots. Several times he cut me off by shaking my hand and telling me he was going to take care of me, that he was an expert in my issue, that allergy shots would fix me up. I never got to ask my important questions and was treated like trash. With all the experience I've had in the medical field, to me this clinic puts profit over patients and tries to push allergy shots since they're serial and have provide constant revenue. I'm currently at a new allergist at a major hospital and they have so many other options for me to try before allergy shots are even considered..and they actually listen. Please do you or your loved ones a huge favor and look elsewhere. Message me for recommendations, I could not be happier after leaving this scam of a clinic.

Being in the medical field, I'm always wary when being referred to certain doctors. I always try to…read morecheck on their backgrounds especially their medical training and hospital affiliations. I usually prefer when doctors come personally recommended by friends and family rather than relying on physician to physician referrals or online reviews. However, in this case, my family practice physician (Dr. Posey) was on point on sending me to Dr. Caplan. When I first saw my family practice physician and was told I'd have to see a surgeon immediately, he personally called Dr. Caplan while I waited in the examining room. Hearing about my case, Dr. Caplan agreed to see me as an add-on the following morning. This was all done and scheduled for me by Dr. Posey (separate review to follow) prior to coming back to the room to finish our visit. As you know, usually when being "referred," the patient is the one that has to call the office to make an appointment to the referred physician which could take weeks,etc. In this case, Dr. Caplan agreed to see me right away even though my case wasn't necessarily an emergency. The following morning when I checked in to Dr. Caplan's clinic in the Scurlock Tower the receptionist was already waiting and ready with my file. She made the comment that she was to page Dr. Caplan as soon as I arrived since he usually doesn't have morning clinic on that particular day but was coming in to do my case specifically. I deeply appreciated this effort. When I finally met Dr. Caplan, he was very personable (jolly, in fact), explained the procedure extensively, and went over step by step with instructions. He answered all my questions prior to the procedure. His nurse was also highly efficient in her process (checking me in, acquiring my history, giving me discharge instructions,etc). The same can be said for the front desk staff. Some notables: -His office is shared with two other physicians. However, the waiting area is large, clean and comfortable. -Must pay for parking, though I can't say exactly how much it was as I didn't drive myself there and was too loopy to pay attention afterward. -His website leaves much to be desired, which worried me initially. I have this silly thing about judging service by how their website looks & functions but I will admit I was wrong about him. I have another surgery scheduled in the near future and I'm confident in Dr. Caplan's skills for a great outcome.

Highlights in waves and straight hair girl in the front by the window were so rude. However, there was one other lady and she was sweet and patient! You would think that a doctor's office in one of the most diverse areas in Houston would know a thing or two about showing empathy to those who don't speak English. Honestly, I accepted that I was in the wrong because my husband probably heard wrong when he was scheduling. (And the confirmation text had the appointment date but not the appointment time?) So I didn't mind the snappy tone of her voice in the call whatsoever, because it was an honest mistake. What REALLY bothers me is when we had to make a new appointment and she literally continued to mock us, repeating to me and my husband-- "aRe YoU SuRe yOU UnDerSTAND? YOU SEEM VERY CONFUSED THE FIRST TIME." (I quote this verbatim and she repeated this at least 3x") and added "ARE YOU SURE? JUST WANT TO MAKE SURE". I'm not about that so I just politely said, "yes we understand". But it is disgraceful how she speaks to non-native speakers when her job is a receptionist. Your parents or grandparents have probably experienced something similar and struggle to schedule appointments and call customer service without a representative being rude and snappy. SO PLEASE STOP PASSING THE BATON and REMEMBER YOUR ROOTS and try to be kind. You of all people should understand the struggles that minorities go through, so please be patient even if there is some frustration. They are probably reading this and smirking and laughing behind their desks right now and I honestly don't care, because I pretty sure this message won't even reach them. And if it does, then bless their hearts. I can only hope this doesn't happen to the other experiences of other patients coming here. On a good note though, they were really great about patients going in and out. Operations, nurses, or doctors in there.. great job! No wait time at all.
